Portions had half sizes which I appreciated. The half was quite small and the regular was very large, so take your pick. THE BURGER!!! Get the burger! This was our go-to restaurant while staying in Hyannis. We actually ordered food from here twice to take back to the abnb. I loved the bacon wrapped scallops. The pizza was good as well. The lemon pepper wings were hardly seasoned. Also they were very dry. I could barely taste the lemon flavor. My fried cod fish sandwich was delicious though! With the exception of the wings every thing else was pretty good. Including the scallops and rice. They have lots of available parking. Can't comment on the dining in experience. Everything was called in for pick-up. So I would give this restaurant a 3.5 rating. read more

Portside tavern has a lot going for it.. a great feel.. clientele that are friendly. But the best thing about it is the owner... Sometimes things don't go right. Nobody can bat a thousand... This was recommended to us from a waiter at another restaurant that we had lunch at. He highly recommended the pizza! We were greeted and seats upstairs overlooking the bar area. It was nice a quiet and our waiter took our drink order and then came back for our dinner order. The espresso martini's were wonderful made with a shot of espresso. So delicious. They had a very nice mocktail menu too! We did have the pizza which was wonderful and they even had a gluten free option for my daughter. We enjoyed the pizza so much that we ordered one to go to bring back to our family! They enjoyed it as well. I would recommend this tavern to everyone. I cannot rave enough about this place. I've visited Hyannis in March, three years in a row. Every year we have eaten here for one of our meals. Every year is has been incredible. This year we came back because of how outstanding last year was. I ordered the chili again, even though I knew it meant I probably wouldn't eat my whole meal. My friend ordered the fish and chips and upgraded to truffle fries. She said it was probably the best fish and chips she's had. Now... for my meal... I am not exaggerating... BEST meal I have EVER had. Ever. I had the cod. Baked. With pesto, and sun-dried tomatoes. Served with roasted potatoes and spinach. So flaky. So tender. Perfectly cooked. The flavor was something straight from heaven. Breaks my heart I'm not local. I'd eat this weekly. All of the staff is always so friendly. My first time at this restaurant and it was amazing! We got the baked cod, lobster rolls, salmon, and fish & chips. All iconic plates and all so so good! It was a little too bright in the restaurant but I also enjoy a dimmed light everywhere I go so that's just preference. The service was also great! Only odd thing was the lobster roll came with lays chips in the bag. I think they should've taken the chips out of the bag for us, but other wise great. read more

This place is a great sports bar, with a tremendous craft beer selection. The place has a lively atmosphere for watching sports games. Been going here for years, whenever we were on the Cape. Sadly we won't return. Their poutine used to be a standout. Tonight the fries were not hot, the gravy was as flavorless as a package mix, and even lacked salt. Cheese was good, but warm bland poutine is not pleasant. For the first time ever, we didn't finish it. Our other favorite had been the fennel sausage pizza. The fennel sausage is house made and used to have a sharp tang of fennel, making it a really tasty complement to the poblano peppers and caramelized onions. Tonight it was a joke. The sausage didn't even have a hint of fennel, it was absolutely tasteless, and, no lie, there was exactly one skinny strip of pepper on each slice. It was obvious they had used exactly eight slivers, spread around the pizza like spokes on a wheel. When asked if we'd like a box for the pizza, we declined. The place was packed so it doesn't appear to be hurting, but wow has their quality gone downhill. read more

I had the Pineapple Coconut Margarita, which was not too sweet and not too strong. I was indecisive for my meal so I ended up just getting Nachos. Since we're visiting from down south, we were on the hunt for a late-night spot (which isn't easy to find by the Harbor since so much was already closed). Luckily, we made our way toward the Cape Cod Mall area and struck gold! We recently stopped by Portside Tavern and were reminded why we love great local spots like this. It's a fantastic low-key bar that's just as good for dinner as it is for catching a game. The TV screens are perfectly placed, the bartenders are friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The pizza was excellent -- flavorful, hot, and done just right. We also tried the meatloaf, and it genuinely reminded us of our grandmother's from years ago -- comforting, hearty, and full of flavor. That's not something you find everywhere. Even in the middle of winter, the place had a warm, lively vibe. We ended up having a great conversation with someone we later found out was the owner -- just chatting about everyday life. After 6+ years finally made it back. Was just as good as I remembered. We sat at the bar right at noon. There were just a few patrons, and within the hour the whole place filled up. Andy (on the bar) took amazing care of us. We had a couple cold beers and oysters while we tried to decide what else to have. We watched as so many mouth watering dishes went by. The burgers and fries looked AMAZING...as did the buffalo tenders, Mac n Cheese, and some sort of wrap. We wound up just munching on a bar pizza. It was delicious. Perfect South Shore style with crispy crust. The owner, Jason, came over to say hi. I mentioned this was my second time and was so happy to see it still thriving. We will be back later this week. I highly recommend!!! This is a locals place, slightly off the beaten path away from the tourist stuff, but still super close to everything mid Cape. One of those times I would give 3.5 stars, but the tamales and port belly potato skins were delicious, and well conceived, definitely 4 stars! The place is very live/loud. My group of six was seated in a small alcove sounded by mirrors. It was hard to hear anyone not immediately next to you. The service was not great. We had to remind our server of items at least twice. One of our party ordered the ice tea, and when it came, it was terribly sweet, so she sent it back, but the server did not remove it from our bill. But I would come back for the food! read more

The food and service were good. We visited right before busy season but i can imagine the place really comes alive during peak time.

Steak tips were AMAZING. There were only 4, but they are the size of a full filet mignon and they were cooked to perfection; they were spot on. The street corn and potato salad were phenomenal also. The drinks come in little mason jars and when we kept ordering water refills they came over with a pitcher of water for us to serve ourselves and they refilled the pitcher for us. Service in the beginning was ok. The host was amazing and told us 15-20 and it ended up being no more than 10 minutes. The waiter was a little rude at first but seemed to calm down as the restaurant seemed to die down. It seemed like we were getting the "get them out of here" treatment until the restaurant cleared out. Even with a busy restaurant, it's still important to be attentive and kind to your tables. read more

We got seated right away without needing to wait. Food was great... recommend the lobster bisque and the seafood Alfredo. Portion sizes are on the large size.
