I took my brother and sister-in-law for dinner last night to The Roadhouse. Our server was awesome, and the cocktails were great. I had the pan seared crab cakes (which were awesome). My wife had the octopus which was also fantastic. My brother had the Penne a la Vodka with grilled shrimp, which he said was the best ever, my sister-in-law had the scallops with risotto, which she said were cooked to perfection, and my wife had from the raw bar the tuna! Our waiter Livingston was amazing! I had wanted the swordfish, but they were out of it. I asked if I could have chicken francais, which he had made for me. It was delicious! My boyfriend had the rack of lamb and he loved that as well. We sat in the bar area and it was so cozy in there. They served warm bread with homemade marinara before the food arrived and both were quite tasty. Definitely recommended place to go to! read more

Excellent. Loved the atmosphere, very comfortable. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful. Bread was warm with a crunchy crust. I had the lamb which was excellent, my companion had the salmon which she liked a great deal. Good wine menu, attentive staff, good food. We've been looking for a place to go when we want to really go all out and enjoy the food, and we found it. Relaxed, comfortable but very good food. Maybe a little pricey, but it's on the Cape. Highly recommend. BTW, I was worried about the jazz overwhelming us. They play on Wednesday and Saturday, and the owner makes sure the volume doesn't drown out conversations. read more

We had looked forward to having our Thanksgiving dinner ever since last year because it was wonderful. Well that won't happen again. This year it was a buffet, which was as gross as one would expect. But here's my main warning: The buffet costs $69 and mainly involved us watching really old and injured people struggling to carry food. We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. We went early on a Thursday night in August. My husband LOVED the octopus appetizer. And that they had blue cheese stuffed olives for his martini. I enjoyed the caprese salad-good pesto and sweet balsamic dressing and a glass of Albariño wine. For our main course, he had and thoroughly enjoyed the swordfish dinner, the fish was cooked perfectly. I had the lobster ravioli which I found be a bit lacking. Banana foster for dessert, very tasty treat. We will return. read more

The service and the food were great! It was a fun relaxed evening and everything was delicious. We easily made a reservation on open table at the last minute. It is amazing how they serve so much good food in such a large place without losing quality. Good food and drinks, but the service was a mess. A member in our party ordered a main meal off the menu, and were told only after all the other meals already arrived it shouldn't have been on the menu. It was a shotgun approach to quickly order another item, and a second round of 1 additional drink we ordered at that time didn't show up until the check. Nothing was considered to accommodate the situation and they even built in a 20% tip for themselves on the tab, which was pretty bold. Would recommend for takeout! read more

My husband and I had not been back here since they reopened under new ownership after COVID. We had the pleasure of dining here while on our summer vacation. They kept my favorite dish, chicken homard on the menu!, Our server was Livingstone, he couldn't have been nicer which always makes dining so pleasurable. The new owner was friendly and informative. Went around 6pm on a Saturday and plenty of room at bar. Our meals were good however the $47 ribeye was no value especially since sides were ala cart and $7 each. Ribeye was cooked to perfection a bit over seasoned but good. Chicken picatta was a very fair portion and flavorful Clams Casino were not great mushy and did not seem super fresh. Weird choice of cheap silverware for the price point of this place. Plastic handled steak knife that felt like it was purchased at a discount warehouse. Bartender was attentive enough and friendly enough drinks were decent. Overall it was not a bad meal, but we won't be back mostly due to lack of value. read more

Sadly the fish was way over cooked (it was taken off the check). Chowder was very thick and buttery (not award winning in my mind). Kitchen was in the weeds and food took about an hour from order to apps. Service was friendly and accommodating, just not up to Dave Columbo's former standards for the Roadhouse. Stopped by "Ricky's" Roadhouse Cafe at 488 South St, Hyannis, MA today for lunch. What a pleasant surprise. The food was amazing, as was the atmosphere and the service. The bartender (Livingston) mixed us great drinks in the front bar area, which was recently updated. They offer both a lunch menu and dinner menu with reasonable prices, especially given the high quality of their dishes. The Point Judith Calamari was perfect and tender. The menu offered a nice variety of pasta dishes, seafood, and steaks plus real Wagu beef in their signature burger. We will definitely be back! read more

For a new launch of an existing restaurant you would imagine at the very least customers and locals would come first!!! Let's start with water, both glasses on the table had rings around them we were told that they are the old glasses from the previous owners & they were not dirty, just stained WHAT ??? Then we were offered bread prior to our meal which was great, we asked for butter we were told NO, that the new owners don't want to purchase or offer butter. What was offered was red sauce ( what if people can't eat red sauce or don't like it, then what, we eat dry bread? ) Moving on to our meal we ordered surf and turf with steak tips, chicken breasts, and shrimp.. The steak was ok not terrible but not great. I asked for it cooked medium well it was more like medium rare. The biggest issue was the chicken which was paper thin, way over cooked & dry. I could not chew it and had to spit it out. I mentioned to our waitress that the chicken was really dry, thin and not edible. The waitress apologized and said she would tell the owner, the owner never came to the table, never said sorry or offer a cup of tea, nothing! We were excited to be back at the reopened Roadhouse after years closed, but sadly we were grossly disappointed across the board. Party of 6. Started with drinks. Most average at best, but Manhattan was well crafted... and huge! Hot sourdough bread was the best food item of the whole night! Food. Just awful. Two of us declined to even take home leftovers. First appetizers: chowder was good; Caesar had no flavor at all and a $4 surcharge for 3 small dry anchovies was unacceptable; duo tuna -- it's the cape... how can you serve raw tuna with absolutely no flavor!? Next dinners. Encrusted salmon was mediocre at best. Moist, but not much flavor and crust just didn't work. Veal Marsala was gloppy and not tasty. Chicken parmigiana was a huge portion and was decent. Chicken piccata was much smaller and ok. Scallops on pesto risotto -risotto was tasty, but of the 8 small scallops, 6 were tough and overcooked. Service was terrible. Asking for two minutes more to decide led to 15 minutes before checking back. That would have been forgettable if it didn't get worse! We had three with food allergies. Handled well, but two dinner orders were not put in. We were told they would be right out. After 5 minutes or so, pressed the waitress why and she tried to blame it on allergies. Pure nonsense, especially since only one was an allergy alert, and they already served two other allergy dishes. After 15 minutes when our friends were already more than half done, I went looking for the manager who told me the reason was the two orders weren't put in! Mistakes happen. Do not lie about it. At least they comped the two. Although manager never did come back to apologize. No desserts. After that much bad food, wasn't going for more. Ambiance . A plus. Nicely done, but not gonna compensate. read more

An amazing oasis in a food desert. Because there's just no restaurants built because all there is wilderness except for this place to eat it's wonderful and the food was great. First time back since the reopening. We were excited. But sad that it was a disappointing experience. Wait staff was great but it was clear that the support behind them was struggling. Our waiter had to deliver apology after apology (about the under staffed kitchen) until our meals arrived. We were long, long time customers of the former Roadhouse and loved it! We heard mixed reviews from locals on the reopening and weren't sure what to expect but were very pleasantly surprised. Either the owner or manager greeted us at the door and couldn't have been more friendly. We shared that we were customers of the former establishment and with that he gave us a tour and showed us the few changes they had made which were all quite nice, yet you still have that charming older vibe. Our waiter, Livingston, was equally as friendly and tentative throughout the evening. My husband ordered the Clam Chowder & Chicken Parmesan and I had the Grilled Swordfish. These are all dishes we frequently have had other restaurants and we've had our share of both good & bad. These were all very good. Portions were very large and extremely tasty. Give it a try! I am so pleased that the Roadhouse is open again. Six of us dined there on November 10th. Each meal was well prepared and presented. The waitstaff were professional and friendly . The atmosphere was warm and inviting. When we heard that the owner, Ricky, was honoring veterans with a complimentary meal on Veterans' Day, we decided to come back the next day to show our support. (One member of our party is a veteran) Kudos to the Roadhouse team for honoring our veterans in this way. We discovered that Ricky is a veteran as well as several of his staff. Our reservations were given away to another party of 4 even though we told the staff 2 times where we were waiting for over an hour. The food sounds great but is just ok. Roadhouse is back! If you're like me and enjoyed their menu before they closed, you'll be pleased to see that their former chef has returned and a number of some old favorites are on their current menu. My personal fave is their Roadhouse Fra Diavolo, which is still delicious. My parents and I visited last night and had a great dinner from start to finish. I'm not usually a dessert person but our waiter, Vince, recommended his homemade flan which my stepmother ordered. Not only am I not usually a dessert person but I'm also not a fan of flan, so I politely declined. Well, I'm glad that he brought out 3 spoons for us to share because last night was the first time that I've ever actually enjoyed flan! The consistency was more firm than other flan that I've had and the flavors and accompanying caramel sauce were excellent! This dessert should be added to their menu permanently! Went on a week night 6pm. New valet station but no one was there it was dark so I could not make out any signs saying there was or wasn't a valet. Cars in lot did look like they had been parked by valet back to back. I parked and went to front door. There was a sign saying "private party entrance", no other instructions as to alternate entry. Because many years ago I worked there I knew about the back entrance. No hostess so I waited. Only 1 table occupied in back room, 1 out of the 4 bar booths occupied and a few people at bar. A waiter sat me at a booth. My friends went in the front entrance and were told to leave (they had no idea where to go), they had to call me to figure it out. We ordered drinks, 2 drinks came and then the 3rd about 10 min later. We were waiting for a 4th person who had trouble finding parking and waited for the valet who never came. A woman & man (staff) came to our table and she loudly said "what's going on ladies"? We weren't sure if she was our new server but seemed annoyed with us. I explained we were waiting on our 4th person but she was having trouble parking and thought there was a valet. She responded by rudely saying "well we don't have a valet tonight"; she turned and walk away. Please note we previously told our server that we would be happy to order because we didn't want to tie up his table and he said no worries it wasn't busy. Only 1 other party arrived while we were there. Ordered our food it was just ok. Service at times good and then he'd disappear. We ordered a 2nd round of drinks with our meal and 1 wine never arrived by the time he came back we were finished. Bartender was very loud discussing sex. Too bad, the old Roadhouse was great.
