I spent the weekend on Cape Cod in Hyannis Friday to Sunday with my love. On Saturday we went to Tap City Grille on Main St. A long street with many great eateries. This place is a foodies dream. We were seated in a corner high top table with a window view to see all the people walking by. Our waitress was Brenna. Her service was impeccable and Brenna left nothing to chance. I asked Brenna about the Mac and cheese on the menu and website as there was a slight difference. She told me I could have the fried chicken along with blue cheese crumbles. Gold star 1. We ordered water with lemon and a couple of Shipyard Pumpkin Ale's to start. A flavor in the wing section caught my attention: Peach Bourbon BBQ. I asked Brenna if we could do those with chicken tenders. She said absolutely. Gold star 2. My love ordered Shrimp Tacos, I had the Mac and cheese with fried chicken and blue cheese crumbles. We were full and had leftovers to take. We also took Carrot cake to enjoy later. We settled our bill and left very happy. Went for a bachelorette party with 11 girls total! We had called ahead of time and got our time pushed a few times so by the time we actually got sat (9:15pm) from an 830pm call ahead time was kind of a bummer. Shaun was our waiter though and he was great! Very attentive and made sure we had whatever we needed! No one had a bad meal. The food was hot and delicious!! Tap City Grille was a surprise for me! I tried it out around 7 years ago and wasn't the biggest fan. It was a good place to go out with friends and have some wings, but I wasn't impressed whatsoever. My family and I were on vacation looking for a place to go that's different from Seafood, so we went back to Tap City to give it another shot. It was incredible. It was possibly one of my favorite restaurants I've tried during my vacation. We got a lot of different dishes, so I was able to try a bunch of them. I myself ordered a "build your own" Pizza. I got Hot Italian Sausage and Pepperoni. It was a very good size for the amount of money you spend. It was delicious. The sauce was amazing, the cheese blend was good and the toppings were both fresh! The crust was a bit soggy however. It was fine, it just was a bit floppy. I tried the Brussel Sprout appetizer and it may have been the best thing on the menu. They were addictive. I could've just ordered those and have been satisfied. I tried the Chicken Tenders and they were alright, but you could tell they are frozen and not homemade. The Fries were good, but just normal fries you'd expect at a bar and grille. Although I personally didn't try it, one of the guests I was with was in love with the Hamburger. This place is a must stop on your vacation if you're looking for a break from Seafood. It has a nice atmosphere and has been packed every time I've walked by. So why am I only giving this a four? Our waitress was not good. She had zero emotion and looked like she wanted to be anywhere other than at her job. I waited 20 minutes to get a refill on my drink because she never checked on us until we finished our food. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this before. After the British Beer Works down the street closed down this place became our regular. Service is always good. Food is always good. Cool decor. Honestly we go here far too often, but almost every time we try another local pub, we have one of two reactions: If it was good, we think "it was OK, but not as good as Tap City", and if it was mediocre we think, "wow, we really should have just gone to Tap City." The beef short rib is some of the best you will have. And the crab cakes are the better than any other's we've tried. Always a decent beer list. read more

Food was terrible at best- ordered a french onion soup and it looked like a slice of kraft american melted on top. It was like garlicky and the bread tasted like stale bread they've had in the back of the kitchen for months. Chicken wings were dry and flavorless. Prison food equivalent to be honest... We ordered three appetizers and one lunch for our table of four. Overall, everyone agreed that the food was just mediocre. It was acceptable if you're hungry, but nothing stood out or made us want to come back. What really caught my attention was the service. Neither waitress smiled or made any effort to be friendly or engaging. One of them checked on us before we had even taken a bite of our food, and after that, we never saw her again. We wanted to ask for more dressing, but she never returned to the table. When it was time to pay, she simply walked by, dropped off the bill, and kept going--no "thank you," no acknowledgment, nothing. I still left a tip, but it was less than I normally would because the service was so disappointing. If you're going to work with the public, find people that are engaging and smile! I came in here over Christmas break with two other people and we ordered chili and honey hot wings as an appetizer. The sauce was on the wings where were really good. So when I ordered the same thing on door dash I was mad that they gave me plain wings with sauce on the side. I ordered honey BBQ and chili wings. The honey BBQ tasted awful. Went to meet a friend; expectations were low yet I was pleasantly surprised. My partner and O split the Beat& salad with Burrata Salad and a pepperoni pizza- this was my biggest shock. Our server, a young man, was absolutely lovely and wonderful to us. He was very attentive and helpful. We stayed for an appetizer, a salad, and an entrée. We ordered three drinks each. I still had some of my last drink left and multiple times people came over to clear things from the table and it was clear they wanted us to leave. We were finishing our conversation and then someone came over and directly asked us to leave so they could seat other people. It did not look busy at all. We had not even been there for two hours. We had ordered a lot of food and left a good tip and was just finishing our conversation. I came in here for a Saturday lunch in a group of seven without any reservation and was able to sit down immediately. They were very accommodating. I got the Belly Buster Burger, and it lived up to its name. My stomach was so full after this. This is one of the few places we haven't been to on Main St and decided it was time to give it a chance. It was actually mother's day and also just after game 7 of a Celtics' playoff series so I'm sure there were some bar stragglers from that. It was decently busy but plenty of open tables available. It was almost like we were in a twilight zone where literally everyone around us seemed to be drinking an espresso martini. I was almost tempted to get one myself but, you know, dinnertime seems to be a little late to be drinking caffeine. They have a really impressive beer list as well as a bunch of creative cocktails. I was considering a coconut martini but ultimately settled on their watermelon sangria. This was good and strong but not much watermelon in there and zero fruit to speak of which is what I expect when I'm ordering a sangria. You have to get your antioxidants somewhere. I appreciated their vegetarian options and decided to stay on the healthier side by ordering their farro bowl. I then decided to completely negate that by ordering cheese curds as an appetizer. The cheese curds were wonderful, warm, and very cheesy. They were served with a sweet, fig maybe? dipping sauce and I'm not sure how well that goes. I personally would have preferred a savory dipping sauce. The farro bowl was a touch overdressed but I appreciated the veggies which included carrots, zucchini, and grape tomatoes. GF ordered the poutine which she absolutely demolished. She also ordered the brussels sprouts which unfortunately come with bacon. She wasn't a big fan of the sprouts and didn't finish them. Party of 9 coming through! It was a Saturday afternoon during the off season at the Cape (aka January.) They don't take reservations. But we walked it and were seated immediately. It was around Noon. Our waitress managed all 9 of us (4 being kids all 10 and under) very well. All the adults ordered drinks, the kids got fancy kids drinks (I think it was cotton candy.) One kid wasn't smitten with their drink but she isn't a huge fan of soda which was the base of the drink. All adults were happy with their drinks. I went with a strawberry lemonade adult drink. It was delicious! Perfect balance of the sweet taste but still had a little adult kick to it. The food... my family split a steak and cheese pretzel (interesting concept), poutine fries (egg on Poutine?) and French onion soup (because it was cold!) The pretzel: good concept but left us needing a little more. Basically served one hungry kid. Each time i went for a little bit, the pull away was just getting cheesy bread. The poutine: egg overcooked but tasty. I wish the yolk was runny and I had gotten the real egg on poutine experience French Onion soup: no complaints! I am going to sounds ridiculous now but the bathrooms are cool. Nifty cement sink, interesting shape.
