Thought we would give them another try and here is what we found. They are now getting bigger and hiring and not controlling quality. Walked in and she asked about coffee - I drink water and my companion had coffee already so she also asked for water. She gives me water and companion coffee- ok one mistake - we order breakfast and my plate is delivered with bacon. I said nothing a didn't eat it. Unfortunately we won't be returning. The woman from 2 years ago seems to be either family or part owner but now she reds a proper manager to teach these folks or hire proper servers.

Egg and Feta Pita

Crazy Rooster is a casual breakfast and lunch place which caters to locals and out of town people visiting Cape Cod. We arrived a little before 8 and there were just a few local groups having breakfast. We were seated promptly and the server took our drink orders. My wife had the egg and Feta Pita. Huge and very tasty. I had the Western Omlette. It was a three egg omlette stuffed with ham, peppers and onions. The hash browns were also quite good. If you're in South Yarmouth and hungry for breakfast, this is the place to go.

Crab cake Benedict

Went to the Crazy Rooster while we were in Dennis on vacation! Staff were friendly and service was prompt! We got the crab cake Benedict and it was SO good! The crab cakes were so thick and hearty and well-seasoned. Definitely going to have to come back next time I'm on the Cape!

Visit: Late October 2022. We were out of towners in town well past the normal tourist season. And that is why we felt so lucky. Wonderful service, full of charm and happiness. Our server who may have been one of the owners, or at least somebody who has been there forever, was fantastic. It's always nice to have a friendly person serving you a meal. I wish I could remember what both of us had but I remember both of us saying that we really loved our entrée. Comfort food at its best !! We liked it so much we came back for breakfast the next day. Portions were great. Prices reasonable. You can't go wrong here.

Texas melt sandwich

Friendly staff and good service. My waitress was covering many tables including a large group but was not missing an occasion to check on me. The sandwich I had was disappointing. I had a Texas omelet melt. I'm just an okay cook. I could have done one better! However, it's not expensive and that's good. The ambiance is one that you would expect from a dinner. I went in with high expectations based on other people's review. Maybe my hopes were too high or I picked the wrong dish. I would go back for a drink as they have a nice bar area. I really wanted to give them more stars. Maybe next time

It's been a month since we were on the Cape. Unable to get reservations last year, I plotted ahead…read morethis year. This is a really appealing, intimate, mom and pop (and summer help waitress) place. The hostess/ front of house boss, who was operating from the bar of this 10-12 table location, was gracious and endearing (in the way that an almost overbearing host can be- that meant as a compliment). The drinks took a minute, my fiancé's salad needed blue cheese brought out as it was left off (single most off-putting thing: the waitress, I suspect language mastery being the cause of this rather than malice or willful deceit, flat out told her that blue cheese did not come with the wedge salad...but when boss lady at the bar was asked, this was quickly corrected), there was a heavy does of reggae music. All of this less than optimal. The food was very good, though I can't remember off the top of my head what I had (it's been a month). Nor did I take pics: it seemed like it'd detract from the experience. There weren't any complaints about the food from others. (So I went back and looked at the menu: potstickers as an app- pretty good; baked local seafood as the main- good, but it is what it is in that not a ton of nuance added so as to let the seafood do the talking. The portion was decent for the price. I didn't leave stuffed, but for $38, very reasonable.) All in all, the first visit merits a second visit next year (as the website says they are temporarily closed to seek new management).

Small but pleasant restaurant with both locals and tourists dining…read more Very friendly service and well prepared food made for a successful dinner. Rolls are delicious. We shared the fried green tomato caprese, a bowl of clam chowder, and a nice scallops ( the most scallops in a single order I've seen) in a lite orange marmalade sauce. Too full for dessert but the choices looked nice. Plan ahead with a reservation because it's a small restaurant. A few outdoor tables too but view is parking lot and Rte 28. Enjoy!

Stopped in for breakfast and was greeted and seated immediately. Place was very busy for early…read moreafternoon and was impressed that only two servers were working the whole restaurant. Both were very friendly and did a great job handling everyone. Menu is printed on the placemat on the table and pretty extensive. Plenty of choices for everyone from breakfast to lunch. We chose the cinnamon french toast, chocolate chip pancakes, home fries, bacon, and a cup of chowder. Given how busy they were the food arrived pretty quickly. Chowder should have arrived first but the server forgot about it and offered to put the pancakes under the heat lamp till I finished the chowder but I decided not to do that as I figured it would ruin the pancakes. The chowder was loaded with plenty of clams and potatoes and had a good flavor to it. The chowder had a light creamy texture which was very nice compared to some of the gloopy chowders you can get. The cinnamon French toast was two large sliced of their home made cinnamon bread coated with a light sugar sauce which enhanced the flavor of the toast. There were plenty of cinnamong swirls in the bread which made it very tasty. The chocolate chip pancakes (2) had a small pile of miniature chocolate chips on top with plenty mixed into the pancakes. The pancakes were light and fluffy and very tasty. The home fries were well fried, as asked for, with plenty of onions mixed in. It was very nice that they were red skinned potatoes so the pieces were small and crispy. The bacon, 3 slices) came well done, again as asked for, and was super crispy and tasted like applewood smoked bacon. Ordered a slice of their forest berry pie to go and then forgot it! But I know it was going to be great because it looked fantastic. Didn't go back for it as we remebered it about an hour after we left and they would have been closed by then. Seating is comfortable with a combination of tables for two and four people. All in all a great experience and we'll be going back when we come to the Cape again.

They have cute little separate rooms so it looks small but it's actually quite spacious. We sat at the countertop by the cook station and it was great to see how much food they can produce. The staff were very helpful with recommendations and the food was delicious. I tried the seafood hash and it was five star. The egg Benedict was cooked to perfection and we also tried the Irish breakfast with recommendation of brown bread that was so thick but also very scrumptious. Multiple fills of coffee and delightful patron to talk to that were first time and repeat visit customers. The overall experience was something we would want to repeat again on our trip. Plenty of parking in the parking lot and nice entryway for those that might need additional help. There's a ramp to get up the walkway. I highly recommend this restaurant as your choice for great dining place in CC!

The portions here are huge. We tried a few different breakfast dishes, including the Irish breakfast and a potato cake Benedict. Everything was hearty, filling, and came out looking great. I especially liked the potato cakes. Crispy on the outside and a nice change from the usual English muffin you get with eggs Benedict. The Irish breakfast is definitely the move if you want to try a little bit of everything. You get eggs, multiple meats, toast, and plenty of food to keep you full for most of the day. Overall, great food, generous portions, and a fun atmosphere that feels different from your typical breakfast spot. Definitely worth checking out if you're on the Cape.
