Fresh oysters on the half shell!
    John D.

The Jefferson, located at 1946 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886 is a speakeasy environment with incredible food, ambiance, award winning bartenders and cocktails. I went there last night with my wife. It was a last minute decision. When we arrived, the outside appeared to be a bit rundown. Don't let that fool you or scare you away! Once you step through the doors, you are in a warm, friendly environment. The walls are all painted a deep red, with very interesting decor. Relaxing and at the same time lively. The staff could not be any friendlier or nice! The customers appeared to be mostly locals and repeat customers. They were engaging and friendly and ready to strike up a conversation with anyone! We felt at home immediately. We started with cocktails and a few appetizers. The cocktails are all craft cocktails, made by award winning bartenders. The bartenders actually taste each drink before it is served. I want that job! . My wife had the Spirit of 76. An award winning espresso martini. Simply amazing. I had the Paint the Town Red, their take on an old style Manhattan. I am a Manhattan drinker and this was by far the best that I ever had. For apps we had the fresh oysters in the half shell and get this, Crab Rangoon Mozzarella Sticks! I can't begin to explain the savory and incredible flavor. I have never had anything like it before. The oysters were ice cold and served with 3 different toppers. Red wine vinegar, cocktail sauce with fresh horse radish, and hot sauce. The dinner menu is small, but creative and absolutely mouth watering. My wife and I had the Steak Frites. The steak is a 10 ounce petite loin cut with fries finished in truffle oil and honey. The steak was cooked to perfection and served with a creamy light brown gravy. Perfectly seasoned and tender. The fries were outstanding. Not your average French fry. Sweet, savory and a star all on its own. My wife and I will be regulars there moving forward and have already made some nice friend there. Give it a try next time you are in Rhode Island! Plenty of free parking.

Upon entrance is a doorman who is so friendly and accommodating! He found us an open table and checked on us throughout the night. The place was packed and they only had maybe 5 or 6 employees so the service was a little slow but understandable. I think the longest wait was about 20 minutes when we were waiting to get our initial drink order taken, but everything after that was fairly quick. For drinks I got a thin mint martini because they were out of the chocolate reuge martini I wanted. It was so yummy and came with 3 thin mint cookies. My mom got a pistachio martini and the Jefferson Tea. Both were pretty good but I wouldn't order again. My dad got Dead Mans Redemption which is good if you like bourbon. It comes with a wood topper and they light it on fire, let smoke fill in the drink, and then take the wood off. The drink then has notes of smoked wood in it which is cool. For food we got the crispy spring rolls and pepperoni flatbread. Both were so good!!!! It was absolutely worth the wait!!! I could eat the whole flatbread myself it was that good and I can't wait to go back and get another one. The crowd is definitely much older, not a lot of younger people around. It's a good date night for married couples. Overall it was a nice place and I would come back.

I got the Big Ol' Burger and it was so good. Cooked perfectly, the special sauce was delicious and as you can probably tell from the photo, the fries were exactly what I was looking for. Everything tastes really fresh here. It has that farm-to-table quality, but in a relaxed, laid-back (but still really pretty) setting. We came for lunch and I loved that they had brunch options too. We didn't get any adult beverages but I was very tempted by the entire drink menu, so next time! Our service was also outstanding. Really everything was A+. Definitely a local spot that I need to remember to go to more often.

She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

The place is nestled away inside the Room & Works building with just a call box and no sign, so make sure you know the password! We came in with another group in front of us, so unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to say the password ourselves, but we'd love to return for the full experience! Be warned that the place is quite small, so you'll most likely have to wait since they do not take reservations. For a party of two on a Saturday night, our wait was around 40 minutes, and we were eventually seated by the bar. I will say that the seating arrangements could be thought out a little better because we had to play musical chairs quite a few times throughout the night. That aside, the drinks themselves were quite good! You can tell the bartenders are very skilled and passionate about crafting their cocktails. For any Star Wars fans out there, the tiki drinks are served in mugs featuring some of your favorite characters, which was such a fun touch! Overall, the drinks were on the pricier side, but I'd say they were well worth it. Definitely a fun spot to check out!

A cute hostess area for pickup orders, but we headed to the small dining room and grabbed a table. I ordered garlic Parmesan wings and a meatlovers pub pizza. Our server/bartender was pleasant and attentive the whole time. Our food arrived looking great. The wings were cooked nicely, jumbo sized with super crispy texture and juicy on the inside. The garlic Parmesan was... Interesting. I believe it's a mayo based sauce, similar to an Alabama white BBQ sauce. I could see the appeal in it but it wasn't for me personally. The pizza was great as usual. I love the combination of the toppings on the meatlovers with the sauce. I enjoyed every bite. While I don't need an excuse to come to Grainsley's as it's in my semi regular rotation, I didn't mind the chance to come back sooner than later for some awesome wings and pizza!
