Vodka and seltzer - not what I ordered - with no lemon or lime.
    Jen W.

The reviews when the business first opened were great and I just haven't had a chance to stop in. The location is in a low slung building next to a pizza joint and you could easily drive past it without knowing it was there. First impression: it's stinky in there. It's a cigar bar, so the place smells like cigar smoke. On our visit the place was virtually empty and the bartender was watching a ball game on TV. There is a bell on the door to let staff know someone enters. We were greeted when we walked into the non-member room (on the right) and asked if we wanted to visit the humidor to select a cigar. We declined and ordered our drinks while I took in the room. There was a fan on the floor blowing - I suppose to circulate the air in the room, a few side chairs and a large TV. As it is a cigar bar, I am surprised there is no ventilation system designed to remove the excess smoke and associated smells installed. Based on the smell indoors, we decided sitting outside on the patio would be best. It was after noontime and the sun was low, but the temperature was nice. There is a view of the street and parking lot from the patio and a BBQ area behind, next to the pizza place. There is a variety of seating on the back patio, some soft cushioned, others metal and plastic. As I sat down the bartender and my companion came out with our drinks. The bartender was pleasant and asked if we needed anything else. Somehow I got the impression this was a quality establishment that brought things up a notch with nice glassware and leather seating. Not sure why I had that impression, but this is not what I was greeted with and may account for my disappointment in this establishment. I had ordered a Vodka Tonic, but what I got was not tonic water, but seltzer water and it was served in a very basic glass with no lemon or lime. Then, based on the fact that I ordered the alcohol I always order if available, I was surprised that the drink tasted like 'rotgut' not the upper shelf item I requested. When the bartender returned to see if we needed anything I explained my drink did not taste right and said I didn't want it. I was offered a new one, but really, you have one job, and you can't even get 'tonic' water right? Between my very basic drink order being made wrong, the alcohol leaving a terrible taste in my mouth and burning on the way down (I took two sips) and the stale cigar smell that clung to me, I just wanted to get out of there. I returned my unconsumed drink to the bar and was billed for it. Now I know I ordered a drink, and I understand that I should pay for what I ordered, but what I got is NOT what I ordered and I should not be responsible for the bartenders error. I am glad we finally got here. Now I know and can take it off my list of place to try. And don't worry, I went to the American Legion after and got the drink I wanted, so the day ended on a good note. :D

Went there on a weekday afternoon after hearing some good things about it from friends. I met one of the owners as well as Tiffany, a bartender. The humidor was on the smaller side but had some great selections, in my opinion. I selected a Partagas as well as ordering an Old Fashioned. The cocktail was very well made using imported cherries and Jim Beam. Tiffany was left alone to tend to the business while the owner went about other things. She handled the whole place very well as more customers poured in. I had another cocktail and enjoyed my hour and a half there. It has an outdoor patio and there is a Taco place and pizza place in the same plaza. Their food is allowed in the cigar bar. Membership, if you choose, is $300 a year for individual or $800 for corporate which is three people. I'll be back.

    Cocktail menu is fire.

This is my absolute favorite place to go to relax with good drinks, good smokes, and watch a few good hours go by. Service from the staff here is always top notch. They have a huge selection of cigars and the cigar host will greatly assist you with anything you need. If you are not sure what to smoke, just give a price point, and type of cigar (mild, medium, or full body) and they will give you several choices. (Also this place knows their cigars, so if you don't go to smoke- go here to pick out cigars as gifts). They have tons of space to sit and relax, a luxurious indoor area with spacious leather seating, which sets the tone for a calming ambience. Their bar is spectacular - filled to the ceiling with top shelf liquor. And a newly renovated patio with ceiling fans for the summer and heaters and fire pits for the winter. All this space is accompanied by mounted flat screens for your viewing pleasure. Private parties are fire with their guest DJs and killer sound system. I don't like smog or smoke but this place has a fantastic ventilation system, which makes for a laid back relaxing time. While I was there, the owner graciously checked on my party to make sure all our needs were met and taken care of. I can't tell you enough, customer service wins it every time for me no matter the place and here they exceeded my expectations! The staff is super aware of your needs- you will never have an empty glass, you will never notice trash of any sort- you look away and it's gone from the table. This place is ultra clean!!! Plenty of ample parking, located across the street with a cross walk right next to the building. Fantastic establishment- highly recommended. Best cigar lounge in RI hands down.

Started going to The Gentleman about 2 years ago. My husband and I became members the first chance we got. The staff is very pleasant and professional. The owner Paul says hello to everyone who is there with a handshake or hug. The weekly events are top notch. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great selection of cigars for men and woman.

Nice place. But extremely smoky inside. They need a better filtration system for the cigar smoke.

Everything was fresh, flavorful and perfect for grazing during a cocktail-style event. The winter cranberry spritz was basically all of my favorite flavors in one glass. So so good. Their cocktail and mocktail menu really shines and I cannot wait to go back and try more. There was even parking, which is a huge bonus. This is the perfect spot for a winter cocktail party or a fun night out. I will definitely be gathering my girls and heading back soon.

They do not have mixed drinks. I tried the Veal Parmesan and was very pleased with it. The veal was tender and it tasted like it was baked instead of fried. The sauce was excellent they used fresh cut mozzarella. Instead of pasta, he served it with herb roasted potatoes and fresh roasted Brussels. Every part of it was excellent. We also tried a thin crust pizza with prosciutto and asked him to put buffalo mozzarella on it, which was a game changer. The pizza was excellent as well. Overall, we had a great experience and will return to try more of the unique menu.

Upon entrance is a doorman who is so friendly and accommodating! He found us an open table and checked on us throughout the night. The place was packed and they only had maybe 5 or 6 employees so the service was a little slow but understandable. I think the longest wait was about 20 minutes when we were waiting to get our initial drink order taken, but everything after that was fairly quick. For drinks I got a thin mint martini because they were out of the chocolate reuge martini I wanted. It was so yummy and came with 3 thin mint cookies. My mom got a pistachio martini and the Jefferson Tea. Both were pretty good but I wouldn't order again. My dad got Dead Mans Redemption which is good if you like bourbon. It comes with a wood topper and they light it on fire, let smoke fill in the drink, and then take the wood off. The drink then has notes of smoked wood in it which is cool. For food we got the crispy spring rolls and pepperoni flatbread. Both were so good!!!! It was absolutely worth the wait!!! I could eat the whole flatbread myself it was that good and I can't wait to go back and get another one. The crowd is definitely much older, not a lot of younger people around. It's a good date night for married couples. Overall it was a nice place and I would come back.

It's a busy place so we made a reservation. We were taken to one of the table and were seated right away. They offer various different type of dishes including sandwich, seafood, mac and cheese, salad, pizza and more. We ended up getting few things to share with the group. We got tree house tavern salad, special Thai mussel, sweet potato pizza, lobster mac and cheese, and whipped feta and ricotta. Everything end up arriving all at once. Treehouse tavern salad was slightly sweet and refreshing with candied walnut, apple and vinegary dressing. Thai mussel was flavorful with hint of Thai curry and coconut flavor. The broth paired very well with baguette. Sweet potato pizza was cheesy and savory with hint of sweetness from the sweet potato. Lobster mac and cheese was cheesy and flavorful with lobster chunks. Whipped feta and ricotta was sweet and savory pairing well with the baguette. All the food was tasty and easy very unique for the most part. We also had their desert which they bring full samples of all their desert to show. We ended up sharing cheese cake because we were pretty full. The ambience is also nice and it reminds me of old time tree house. I would go back again m.
