This experience was a late Friday bar night~ this place still felt comfy and cozy, with seats available for small groups and plenty seating available ~ I really saw this place more full than usually? But it wasn't crowded at all~ music was very southern cartoon, which was good because we weren't paying attention to it, and my friends had a full chisme session, as girlies do in the evenings~~ I had a mango away and it was delicious and worth the price. Cajun fries were the best and perfectly seasoned shareable food for our table~ Order at the bar for your food and open a tab~ they do get busy so the wait can take some time, but they will deliver it if they can to your table~ I would come back again for a casual bar night~

Awesome bar service, very knowledgeable and fun. Drinks are off the charts and not over priced. Missed the live music but will be back!!

Hell yes! I have had this spot on my list since moving to town over a month ago. Came back from NYC and thought I would stop in for dinner and jazz. Lived up and exceeded expectations! Rivaled any of the spots I just went to in East village. Cheers team, glad to live nearby

The Royal Bobcat is such a cool place to hangout and grab drinks and food. The food is served by Hanju kitchen. Drink orders are placed at the bar & food orders are placed at the kitchen window. The decor is cozy with cat pictures on the walls. There are a good amount of tables and bar seating. The bartender was very friendly and took his time to explain the drinks and give recommendations. I had the Royal Hawaiian which has Empress 1908 Gin, Pineapple Juice, Lemon, and Almond Syrup. It was very good and the color is so pretty. I'll definitely be coming back for their live jazz nights.

The drinks were solid, but the bar was completely empty. I went with my husband and sister in law around 5:30pm on a Wednesday, so maybe the ambiance is better at other times. We will go back at another time to try more drinks and see if there is more going on there. It just felt a little out of the way from other spots, which may factor in to not being busy at that time.

Favorite bar ever, great drinks and reasonable prices! Also such a cool place with live music.

My plan was to have dinner at Hanju Kitchen and then learned it's actually located inside The Royal Bobcat (you order the food at a little kitchen window). So visiting The Royal Bobcat was a result of my dinner plans, however I absolutely loved it! It's such a fun space, with elegant pictures of cats on the walls. The seating is cool and funky, and it just has a really nice vibe. There was one bartender when we were there on a weeknight, but it was only around 5:30pm and probably got busier later on. I tried the Royal Hawaiian and really loved it. A beautiful and tasty drink I'd order again. Even though my purpose for visiting The Royal Bobcat was initially for the food at Hanju Kitchen, I'm so glad it gave me an opportunity to discover this fun and interesting lounge/bar. I'll happily return.

I door dashed gumbo and beignets. I couldn't be more disappointed. The food was not good. Had no resemblance of gumbo. The food was super dry. I literally got a cup of rice with a pinch of meat to cover the top. The price was expensive for the serving size. Never again. Highly disappointed

This bar has everything I love: mouthwatering cocktails, delicious Korean Cajun food from Hanju kitchen, and live jazz music! Plenty of comfortable seating, beautiful artwork, and wonderful service.

This is my go-to recommendation for anyone looking for something a little different on the Hill. Yes, you could go to one of the half dozen wine bars or hookah bars but wont have the same experience. This bar is dimly lit, fantastically decorated with outstanding cocktails, what else could a girl ask for? The tiny "pop-up" kitchen serves up delicious Korean dishes. Just do yourself a favor and grab a drink, spend some time and enjoy yourself.

Stopped by here for a drink with a couple of friends on our first night in Rhode Island. Drinks were actually pretty strong and great for what you're paying. Has a nice edgy vibe and sort of reminds you of a speakeasy. Expect to pay around $16 for a drink - pretty standard!

This place is my dream come true. New Orleans themed cocktails, Korean food and live jazz music in a speakeasy setting? Sign me up. The interior decor and ambiance when you walk in is astounding. Love the corner food counter. For drinks, got the cranberry jalapeño margarita and the last word. Both cocktails were pretty good. For food, we got the spicy gumbo, pork dumplings and the surf and turf rice. Loved the gumbo. Good depth of flavors. Pork dumplings were good as well. Surf and turf rice was Aok, didn't really like the fried shrimp. Wish they had one with just the beef bulgogi. Side of kimchi would be nice too. Overall great experience. They have live jazz on Wednesday and Saturday nights.

So, I was understandably hesitant about a new bar moving into what was considered by many to be hallowed ground. Since I walk by it on my way home from work, I decided to stop in soon after it first opened to see what it was like. And now I am a regular and it's one of my favorite watering holes in the city. Super cool atmosphere, with tons of horror movie memorabilia on the walls. A couple of pinball machines ( including a brand new Evil Dead one which is really sweet), and neat liitle outback area for nicer days. They also occasionally have music and drag shows inside, and in the summer months cool shows outside in the parking lot next door. You can also grab a grilled cheese or a hot dog from Puggles Grilled Cheese most days of the week if you're feeling peckish. And my favorite thing... PICKLEBACKS.... !!!! All the drinks are cheap and they have a good selection of beers and ciders. Maybe most importantly, the owners Jeff and Courtney are absolutely lovely people who really understood keeping the locals vibe of the E & O era but also being it's own thing. Definitely support this great establishment.

They also have a great jukebox. Bartenders are friendly and quick. There's usually some kind of punch available with a name like Ecto-cooler which is a weird color but completely delicious if you're into that sort of thing. They sometimes have pop-ups there, one time they had fancy grilled cheese sandwiches. Definitely a fun spot! It's pretty small inside so just know that and don't roll in with a huge crew...

It's best for small groups (no more than 4-5). I love the customer service here: our server explained the alcohol as we got each of our cocktails. I will admit, though, because I'm slightly hard of hearing, I missed a lot of the explanations, but that's ok. I came in a group of four and we all took sips of each other's drinks and that was really fun! Every drink was great, but I do favor my sake drink, white port/cream soda cocktail, the vermouth, and the one with the amaretto. Don't expect the menus to be the same as in this review! They do change it frequently and have non-alcoholic mocktails, too. We heard about this place from coworkers and that they had won an award for best new bar--an award that's well-deserved.

First the hostess / doorman really helps set the mood with his calm, soft spoken demeanor. Once inside the lighting is dim, the space is washed in a pink pastel hue and you realize how small the space really is, 16ish seats. The menu is short but you have the option to order "off menu" and we are so glad we did. We had a little interview with our server for what we were looking for and none of the custom cocktails were a disappointment. This was great as a double date venue and we cannot wait to come back. A really incredible experience and the team clearly works very hard.

I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good.
