Pretzel Sticks and beer cheese
Julie B.

We stopped here for lunch while in Bristol. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout our time there. The saloon was welcoming and felt like a time warp as soon as you walked in the door. Loved the old time feel and laid back atmosphere. We started out with the pretzel sticks and beer cheese for our appetizer. It was really good and we all enjoyed it. I ordered a strawberry margarita that was perfectly made. For my entree I went with the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla. It was good, but the chicken was huge hunks which I wasn't expecting.

Goat cheese salad with almonds and cranberries. Yum!

It was a cute pub with high top tables and open air windows. Food was great. Bacon cheeseburger and fries were quite tasty and better than most. The goat cheese salad with honey vinegarette dressing was excellent (but the added chicken was kind of dry) The servers were attentive as possible while being short handed. It took a long time for our food to come out. We would go back. The menu had many other items we'd like to try.

Stopped in here during the State Street festival on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty packed with people watching college football. We were sat pretty quickly but it did take awhile to get waited on. Once we did, the waiter was very good and our food came out quickly. My friends had the short rib grilled cheese. They said that the meat was cut into large pieces which made it pretty hard to eat. Their French fries were really good. I had the goat cheese salad, as I love the croquettes at another restaurant. For the price, it really wasn't that great. The chicken was good but had fatty pieces and there definitely wasn't enough lettuce. I get this same salad for the same price at the Tipsy Toboggan and the amount of food and presentation doesn't compare. Overall, I'd give this place a 3.5 for service and for food.

Great food, great atmosphere (incredibly beautiful decor and interior) and our waitress was from our home state - talk about meant to be in the right place at the right time. Very hip, yet chill place for apps, dinner, drinks and everything in between. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making the kick off to my birthday weekend so incredible! Ps. Your waitress from CT rocks! So attentive, so helpful and just awesome all around. Look forward to visiting again soon

Delicious, warm pretzels

We had a fun time at the Saloon. Wait staff were exceptional and very accommodating. We were coming from a dance show at the university and we had our own cake for a birthday. They said no problem and even got us candles and a lighter. Food was on par for bar eats and the French fries were very fresh. Pretzels were soft, hot and tasty. Fish tacos were excellent. Great specialty cocktails. At the indoor setting it almost felt like it was outside with the big windows that were open on a beautiful day. Highly recommend for an informal setting and not too loud.

Street parking. Great service Good clean restrooms. Ok menu selection. Great martinis. Loved the expresso. Good onion rings. Average price. Not a great selection of appetizers. In my opinion.

The food side of the menu, drinks are on the back (I did not try any).

I just came here with my son for the first time. The quality and flavor combinations of the food were amazing. We had the short rib cheese tots as our appetizer (cheesy deliciousness) and we shared the chicken park sandwich and JR Bean burger. Both were cooked to perfection and were delicious, enjoy!!

Waitress did not check in to see how we liked our food after it was delivered, but otherwise gave great service with a smile. Menu is small and very meat and seafood centric - not especially ideal for picky eaters or vegetarians/vegans. The Thai wrap appetizer tasted exactly like the Asian salad you can buy in a bag at the grocery store for $3. They were not really 'wraps' but this pre-made salad tossed upon some leaves of lettuce, difficult to eat, and had only the smallest dallop of peanut sauce on them (which was the best part!) My partner's General Al's Chicken took you on a journey from savory to sweet to spicy flavor-wise, but there was something off about the taste that he did not care for (and I've never seen him dislike food at a restaurant. Ever.) My side salad was lettuce only doused in the same aforementioned Asian salad grocery store mix dressing, with lots of wilted/old lettuce that I had to pick out. My entree was good but tasted generic, like something I've had at other chain restaurants a million times before with no unique twist put on it. It had a sauce but it had little to no flavor - couldn't figure out what it even was and didn't remember it being on the menu - so it added nothing to the dish. There are lots of rave reviews here, but we just don't get it. We've ordered takeout from here before and that time, too, we were not overwhelmed with joy, just kind of 'whelmed.' Very 'meh,' and with so many other incredible food establishments within a 25 minute drive in Providence or in between, or even great local spots in town, this place just doesn't hold a candle. Not worth going back. It felt like a very novice chef was at the helm and dishes lacked inspiration and new, exciting flavors that we haven't seen before.

I ordered the Stingy Penicillin since it seemed the most interesting (and because I did not realize there was another full page of options). As promised, it was not bitter at all and very smooth. I also loved that it had a giant ice cube with "SA" melted onto it. My friend ordered their old fashioned and it was probably the best one I ever had - it wasn't overly bitter, but instead had a sweet citrus finish. The staff is really kind and attentive. I was expecting it to be a dive (I do love a good dive bar!), but Stingy Alley is beautiful and classy, with an amazing cocktail menu and small bites as well. I loved the dark wood decor, the low lighting throughout the establishment, and the accent lights at the bar are so pretty. There are many different types of seating - bar, high top tables, benches, regular tables, and a cute and comfy corner booth with throw pillows, which is where we opted to sit. Service was excellent. I was expecting to have to order at the bar, but Stingy Alley has table service. My husband ordered the espresso martini and I went with the Dubai chocolate martini. Both were outstanding - I could easily have tried a few more of the dessert cocktails, but alas we had a 40 minute drive home so that will have to wait for another visit. Will definitely come back to Stingy Alley - thanks for a lovely end to our night!

One day we were undecided where to go... the typical "where do you want to go? " "I dunno, where do you wanna go?" infinite loop. We were driving on Wood street and she asked me if I wanted to try B&B. My gut instinct told me NO, IT'S VEGETARIAN FOOD. VEGETARIAN FOOD IS THE DEVIL!, but somehow I mustered up the strength to deny these thoughts and agreed to try it. I love a good restaurant that waits on you, so the idea of walking to a counter to get my food didn't make me excited. I looked over the menu and saw they had faux chicken sandwiches. They use seitan which I always wanted to try since it's insanely high in protein. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. They also sell beer too which was cool. I got a Clownshoes IPA that I sipped until they brought the food to the table. The portion size of the sandwich is monstrous! I could tell by the sauce drizzle that I was in for something special. The colors from the cabbage slaw in the sandwich provided a solid presentation. As I bit into the sandwich, it had the chew of tender fried chicken and the seitan had some wicked flavor. I'm salivating just talking about it. The sauce had a nice sweet tangy heat which really set it off nice. We ordered fries which were nicely salted and served up with a little cup of aioli. Very good. Honestly, I never thought vegetarian food could taste this good and hopefully I don't regret posting this review and the place blows up and have to wait in line for hours next time. Lol! Thanks Basil and Bunny!
