My husband and I walked in on a Saturday night and were seated after about 25 minutes at the bar. I actually found this spot online when searching for a good spot for mozzarella sticks. We ended up ordering tacos, the PBR burger, mozzarella sticks and beer. The highlights of the night were definitely our drinks and mozzarella sticks, if I were to rate just on those, I'd give Square Peg a 5/5. I came to have dinner with a friend on a weekday. The weather was beautiful so we asked for a table outside. Their menu is not too long, but it does have a little bit of everything and the prices are good. As an appetizer, we ordered the bang bang shrimp (8 Panko fried shrimp tossed in a sweet & spicy sauce). They were very crispy, big, and a little creamy but more sweet than spicy. I was torn between the brie and bacon burger on their regular menu and the smashburger on their special menu. Ultimately I chose the smashburger because I could always come back for the brie and bacon. As crazy as it sounds, I wanted to be a little healthy so I asked for a greek salad instead of fries. After about 20 minutes, the entrees came out. I was a little disappointed that the cheese on the burger wasnt melted, but in the end, it didn't make too much of a difference since it was delicious. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh, the fried banana peppers and bacon were crispy, and the meat was tender and flavorful. I think there were so many opposing flavors but they all came together beautifully - salty, acidic, creamy, cheesy. The buns could've been toasted a little more. The greek salad was also fantastic. It tasted very fresh and had all the toppings I expected with a good amount of salad dressing. I appreciated that they added a lot of feta. A lot can happen to a food joint in 10 years since I left my first review. First, congratulations for lasting beyond the first few years. The place is always packed. Maybe because the price of dinner is still relatively decent. $15 for a fish taco dish with sweet potato fries, seems like a bargain these days. Since they first opened, they added the bar facing Water Street when the storage space was damaged by a car that lost control and crashed into the space. Great bar space to watch people walking by Water Street. Now the lounge is open on the other side while wait for your table. The menu is simpler now with fewer regular items, but that is supplemented by the specials. Everyone's favorites, burgers, fried pickles, and the famous fish tacos remain on the menu. The food quality continues to be the draw, but the waiting time... whenever I go there, typically 30 min wait. No reservations, so the only choice is to wait in the lounge or at the side bar, which can get filled up quickly also. Maybe it was just this evening on Wednesday, but the service was slooooooow. It took 25 minutes for anyone to take our food order. This is another reason we typically go to the Guild not too far from here to counteract these annoyances. But if you are in the mood for fish tacos, there are not too many alternatives. read more

In the confusing one ways and stops signs of Warren is this cute rustic gem. Stopped by Saturday evening, greeted right away by the hostess and got a corner table with views of the World Cup Match. Started off with some drinks and love me a bit of a spicy marg, good little kick to it. Had the garlic parm wings to start and my girlfriend loved them, fried to perfection a wet based parm vs. dry rub. The turkey burger special by far was THE BEST TURKEY BURGER I've ever had. Perfect portion, seasoned well with some spicy kick and a good crisp bottom as well, I will never forget about that burger. Got the guac on the side to eat with my chips which was a nice touch. Every time someone convinces me to go here I am immediately reminded why I don't. I had heard a while back that the blonde girl with the lack of personality no longer worked here, so I figured things would be better. We came in, was greeted by the hostess, she was very nice. She told us we could go in the back and have drinks and an app while we waited for our table. Great! A waitress came by, took our order for drinks and app. She was very nice and cheery. We hoped to get her as the waitress. So far, so good right? We were sat and our nachos came out just as we just settled in which was good. I was disappointed that expediter didn't bother to get us plates or recognize that we needed them. She left before I could say anything so I had to flag her down for them. She did get them quickly. For some reason, the waitresses were all over the back table of loud girls. It appeared they were showering them with attention going back and forth all different waitresses. The place is incredibly loud, it was tough to have a conversation with my girlfriend while we. We tried several times to make any sort of eye contact with the staff to let them know we needed drinks and failed. Eventually, we stood up, walked over and asked a waitress for some waters. A waitress came to the table and gave us waters and asked if we wanted drinks but let her know we had already put them in. She seemed annoyed by us, even though we didn't do anything other than tell her we already had drinks in and that we may order some other things soon. Nobody ever came by to check on us even though they came every 2 minutes to gab with the back table. My girlfriend and I didn't really like the nachos. She felt the chili was burnt and I thought it was too salty. We were still hungry and going to ask for entrees, but we were so annoyed with feeling neglected that we decided to go elsewhere. I asked for a box for my food and the waitress said she'd be back and went and talked with the other table again for what seemed like an eternity. At that point we just wanted to leave and eat somewhere else. When she came back after a while I was like... Oh! There you are! And she took my payment. I hate not leaving tips, but I was aggravated. The Square Peg is a great choice for a quality meal. Everything I get there is delicious in some way. The parking is hard to find at busy times, but I usually find it down Miller St. Just keep in mind that they are closed on Mondays & Sundays when planning a trip. However, they open at 11:30 AM Tuesday through Saturday, which is perfect for an early lunch. The lunch menu is well priced and the food seems high quality. When I've sat inside, the service has always been great. The style of the interior has a rustic comforting feel that makes you want to relax. The chicken quesadilla is savory and quickly became one of my favorite dishes. The salsa is fresh and pairs perfectly with it. read more

We stopped in today (Saturday) around 12noon and it was a thirty minute wait for a table. They do not take reservations, it is on a first come, first serve basis! They sat us in the lounge area to have a few drinks prior to lunch. Mozzarella sticks and the spinach dip were 15/10. My husband deleted his chicken sandwich within minutes. Deffinitely upgrade to the sweet potato fries- the regular fries weren't good. I saw a handful of reviews on the onion burger and it was alright. Updating my review because Square Peg deserves 5 stars. Since first going over a year ago it has become a regular spot for dinner almost weekly. Their changing specials menu is usually what I order off & have come to really enjoy the fish tacos. The pizza & burger are also pretty good & haven't disappointed. I try to always go to the side raw bar area because I find it's easy to sit at the bar or at the window & get phenomenal service from the bar tender in the area. Although the beer list isn't very long what they do have is usually very good as with the cocktail menu. read more

I highly recommend the PBR burger. You won't regret it. We sat sidewalk side last night. Braving the potential rain. We made it almost all the way through dinner w/ out a drop. Our server Laura was a trooper braving the showers to help us pack up & led us into the lounge as the storm surge increased. Service was great. Food always good. Exploring Warren and decided to stop at the Square Peg for lunch. The first thing I noticed is the place was hopping! Always know if the locals eat there it's a great place! The tortilla chips were crisp and fresh and so was the delicious salsa, just the right amount of spice to give it a bit of a kick. I chose the fish tacos. Can we talk about a hidden gem in Warren ? Very unique and one of a kind artwork and photos on the walls that represent both Warren and Rhode Island. Service is always top notch. To be honest I was a little disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options. I feel like they had more creative options back in the day. They do have a veggie patty that you can have in place of their burgers, but the waitress told me that they were not made there that they are store bought. When you go out to eat and spend your hard-earned money, you want something that's better quality than a frozen veggie patty you can get from Shaws. One of the unique aspects of Square Peg that I enjoy is their side room that opens up into the street, where they have a second bar to entertain those waiting to be seated. 45 minute wait times fly by when you can watch some television, play some games, and have a margarita! Came here as part of a group of 4 for some good food and drinks! Overall a pretty good experience with some caveats. Drinks were great! They definitely do not skimp on the alcohol and my old fashioned was really good. Not weak, finely mixed, and seemed like it had higher quality house whiskey in it. The food was decent, definitely pub food and prices were reasonable (only $12 for a burger). 2 of us got burgers, 1 a chicken sandwich and 1 tacos. We split a chips and salsa appetizer, I thought the salsa was nicely made except VERY mild if you are more into spicy. The guacamole was good and the chips were awesome! My "peg" burger was good - super messy but tasty and cooked perfect, although nothing amazing. The fries were tiny (cut very short) and seemed a bit bland. Definitely worth the value however. One comment about the food, don't expect anything clean/easy to eat, or high end fine dining. This isn't the place for that. Lots of sandwiches, fried options and comfort food like nachos and tacos. Very casual. What kind of made the night a little disappointing was the service. We had an attentive waitress, but almost a little too much. I think the group of us felt largely rushed which was uncomfortable. Could totally have been a one time fluke though.
