    Roast Pork Rodeo Burger
    Eric M.

What is not to love about Chomp?! Been coming here for years! This time got the roast pork rodeo burger. Burger was well seasoned, fresh and juicy. Great crisp on the onions, the cranberry habanero bbq sauce was amazing. Little bit sweetness little bit of heat. Perfection may be my new go too. The Cajun fries great crisp and flavor. Not pictured was the potato skin, crispy potatoy in a good way. Highly recommend anyone who wants a good burger to come here. Brought my brother and a friend of mine both blown away. Service is always great, and always clean and updated on the inside, even have an open kitchen too!

The food was delicious. The service was accurate and fast. There is plenty of seating options. There are tvs to watch games. They also have a bar. It has a chill family friendly ambiance.

Came in on a date. The server was attentive. The food was tasty and the seasonal drinks on point!

September Special: The Big Drip Burger

The atmosphere is upscale burger joint, very nice but casual. No complaints there. The food was good, if a bit pricey for a smash burger and a few fries. The beef was cooked in true smash burger fashion, but I feel like the edges lacked that lacey crisp you find on truly spectacular smash burgers. Fries were a bit cold, but still tasty. The server was friendly, but he always seemed to come at the worst moments and immediately interrupt our conversation. He could've at least waited til we finished a sentence. The drink menu had the wrong description for the cider my date ordered, which was a bit annoying, and they brought me the wrong beer. Over all, not bad but I feel like it could've been better considering the prices.

We had a great dinner here recently and the only reason I gave it a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 was that where we were seated inside was so loud we had trouble hearing our waitress telling us the specials. Other than that, everything was great! All of the food was delicious and they were so accommodating to my daughter who only wanted fried shrimp (there was a fried shrimp noodle special). We will definitely be back, but maybe ask to sit outside so it's not so loud.

I ordered a kids grilled cheese and 1/2 order of crab Rangoon sticks ... everything was cold. The grilled cheese was barely grilled, as we were the sticks. The picture and the menu is very deceiving. I got the kids grilled cheese and the appetizer and it came out to $28.37. It was cold when I got it. Very disappointing

I was starving a couple nights ago and ordered a chicken sandwich from Chomp. I ordered takeout, so I didn't get to fully experience the restaurant. However, I genuinely appreciated how quickly they prepared my order. From what I could see briefly, the restaurant was quite busy. So if you're planning a visit on the weekend, I'd recommend getting a reservation. I had the honey mustard chicken sandwich with a side of fries. It was incredibly tasty. The chicken was so flavorful, and the fries were honestly perfect. I will 1000% be returning in the near future.

Very good burger and sandwich! It was pretty busy for a rainy Wednesday night, but there were still plenty of tables. Service was very quick for the whole night; we were seated quickly and our server was always ready when we needed her. The food was good overall! I think our favorite was the Mac and cheese side! The house burger was well cooked and the sauce was very tasty. Only complaints were that burger patty itself could've used a little more seasoning and the piece of lettuce was huge for the size of the burger. The chopped cheese was decadent. There were a lot of flavors going on so we took half of it home to not be overwhelmed. We will definitely be back for a burger and to try other dishes!

Hands down my favorite chicken sandwich in the city! I have to make a stop at Chomp when I come home. The service is great, the ambiance is fun and the menu is always changing with fun new additions and specials. It can get a bit busy at times so I recommend a reservation if you go at peak times with larger groups. I always order the BBQ hot honey chicken sandwich and I hope it never leaves the menu! Perfect combo or sweet and spicy. I get fries as a side and ask for a chomp sauce to dip them in. Highly recommend and I can't wait to be back next time!

What's a girl to do when she wants a yummy burger? Check out Chomp on Ives. OMG. A perfect blood orange rita with salt did not disappoint and the smash burger? A second OMG for the perfect goodness and the fluffiest bun around. Out door seating is available AND the service is impeccable. Totally coming back here!

Bang Bang Banh Mi Fried Chicken and Smokey Bandit Melt
    Megan H.

My boyfriend and I ordered for chomp since I haven't tried it since a couple years ago! I got the banh mi chicken sandwich and he got the bandit melt. The banh mi chicken sandwich wasn't really like banh mi (which I expected) and was really just a chicken sandwich with pickled carrot and daikon. I still enjoyed it though, and the chicken was super juicy and tender. My boyfriend enjoyed his bandit melt, which was a bit spicier than expected, but still good! The chomp sauce is probably my favorite part as well.

I used to love the food here but the last two times have been a waste of a visit. as someone who doesn't eat red meat I always go for their chicken - but the last two times have been dry and not flavorful at all. if the breading falls off and my chicken taste like nothing then, throw the whole thing away. they need to realize all these sauces and aïolis don't make up for bland chicken will not be returning, maybe the other locations have better cooks who know what good food taste like

Stuffed Mushroom Burger- an Inside View 5/5

Listen, I've been to Chomp more times than I can count. I went to the Warren Location before it was cool (years ago when they were only in Warren). It's way more accessible to me being in PVD now, the spot is easy to get to, there is street parking all over, now onto the meat of things. Chomp... You guys do such a dang good job roping me in with your specials. They look absolutely amazing. You got me in the door the other night because my wife saw "Crab Rangoon Burger" and the rest was history, we made it in. I was hungry. Which makes me worried. I asked the waitress for a recommendation, Stuffed Mushroom Burger, my dark horse, or the Fried Avocado Burger. To my surprise the Stuffed Mushroom Burger was recommended as being the heavier option. I went with it and BOY I was not prepared for how decadent and rich this burger was. It was simply amazing. I'd say it's 50/50 on whether or not I'm satisfied or left wanting more when I visit Chomp. Let me explain. This burger was packed. PACKED with flavor. It had varying textures, the smash burger was perfectly caramelized, the artichoke spread lends the perfect amount of richness and the crispy fried onions gave just enough textural relief to the thick spread that it left me going back for each bite in record time. However, this is not always my experience here. I'll admit, this visit was a 5/5. The burger was perfect for me and the field greens salad was delicious (A+ lemon vinaigrette). I'd say the biggest gripe I have is the consistency and pricing. Sometimes I come in wanting the special, which uses all ingredients on their normal menu items, and I'm being charged $19 for a burger. That's a pricy burger! To boot, if they have what looks like a drool worth chicken sandwich special going on, and I go in and pretty much get 1/2 the toppings or a small piece of fried chicken in my sandwich, I'm not a happy camper. It's happened more than once where I get a piece of fried chicken here that doesn't have any overhang with the bun. They wouldn't post their special with that pathetically sized piece of chicken, so why serve it to me in your restaurant? Expectations vs reality is a big thing at play here. I've had just as many 3-3.5 star food experiences here as I've had 4-5 star. So, keep that in mind. Chomp, I love you and you make some of the best burgers around. I promise this is coming from a good place. All that said, slight inconsistency aside with portions and pricing. Service is always spot on, the space is nice. Casual but has its own level of sophistication about it- you wouldn't bat an eye at someone looking nice and dressed up here but you can also come in after a workout in some gym clothes. Most importantly, everything here always tastes very good in my opinion. Like I said, points off for inconsistent portion sizes (small piece of fried chicken, lack of crab rangoon on my wife's burger, sometimes things are a little under sauced etc.) and for the fact that I'm spending almost $20 for a burger. I highly, highly recommend looking at the online menu before your visit if it was their special that caught your eye. No word of a lie, one time I went in for the special and it was $22 or something like that. I was floored. Food quality, off the charts. Value, eh. Service, amazing. Atmosphere, great.

The two met when they both worked at a brewery in Honolulu. Once returning to Rhode Island, the couple decided to open their own gastropub in Stephanie's hometown of Westerly. Dubbed "The Malted Barley", the business focused on craft beer paired with gourmet pretzel sandwiches. The pretzel dough is made fresh daily, and every pretzel is rolled and stuffed by hand. After much success, the Bennetts looked to franchise their business model. After signing a licensing agreement with investor Ron Koller, a second Malted Barley opened in Providence in March 2016. In March 2023, the Bennetts closed the original Malted Barley in Westerly so that they could focus on their flower farm, Echo Rock Flowers, as well as their family. The Malted Barley in Providence continues to run under the ownership of Ron Koller. I visited the original Westerly location of the Malted Barley in 2014 while I was on a craft beer bus tour. I was so impressed with their excellent craft beer selection and delicious gourmet pretzels that I decided to make the gastropub a stop on my craft beer bachelor party bus tour three years later. I was very sad when I heard that the original location closed down, but I took comfort in knowing that a second location still existed in Providence. I recently visited the Providence location for lunch while I was passing through the area. When I walked in, I immediately smelled the freshly baked pretzels. For food, I ordered the "Barley Bacon Beast Burger" (75 % beef 25 % bacon patty, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, more bacon w/ a side of ketchup) on an Everything Pretzel. It really hit the spot. I must add that these pretzels are essentially a hybrid between traditional Bavarian pretzels and New York-style bagels: salty and crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. While looking over the beer menu, I was surprised to see that the Malted Barley now brews their own house beer in addition to guest taps. I ordered a taster flight that featured Malted Barley's "Banana Bread" (Traditional Ale) and "Monster Juice" (Hazy IPA), as well as Long Live Beerworks' "Invisible IPA" (hazy IPA) and Phantom Farms Brewing's "Coarse Woody Debris" (Saison). All of the beers were very refreshing and paired nicely with my pretzel sandwich. I still miss the original Westerly location, but it's nice to know that you can still find delicious pretzels sandwiches paired with craft beer just a little further away.

Anyways, I wish I was able to chill a bit and have a drink cause their tap list was on point. Check out my pic. The grilled cheese was super delicious. What a great idea to use pretzels as the vessel for all sandwiches. I told my hubby next time we're in the area, we're def stopping by for another pretzel sammy and a beer... or two.

It's about a 5 minute walk down Fountain Street from the permanent Trinity. It opened during the pandemic, and for a couple years was the only place I would ever go out to for a drink. But even now that I've been back to going out for a while, I can say that this is still actually my favorite place for a drink, of all the many bars and breweries in and around PVD. Why? Because it's simple. You get a beer, you sit under the trees while the city moves around you, you drink. Simple. Maybe you go get another beer, or bring some takeout from somewhere. Simple. What is not simple or needed is "comedy" shows, bad bands, mediocre DJs with speakers that could handle lollapalooza. I also wish they would open in May, when the weather is fine for beer gardens, instead of waiting until June. It would be great to have a focus on keeping the beer selection decent (for a long stretch last year they had no IPAs) and opening on a regular/predictable schedule, and food from some of the great ethic places around rather than the frozen deep-fried overpriced apps of a middling hotel bar. I think, over time, that is what gets you more customers versus programming that has more volume than talent.
