Delicious, fresh food. Fast and friendly service in the early afternoon on a Thursday. Good local beer offerings. Lots of TVs with a variety of games so great for March madness.

Stopped by Tavern 12, seen the Sunday football $6 APP sign . Asked for $6 App menu. Young lady say there is no $6 apps. Show picture of the sign. HER REPLY was ( I DON'T KNOW I ONLY WORK HERE) after we order our drink ask for the manger. She went and ask, but he was out. Then she offered to RIP THE SIGN DOWN IF I WANTED HER TO, no need. She claims she txt manger. The only reason I gave 1 star, THE BEER WAS COLD. I'm UPSET OF HER RESPONSE.!!!

Staying nearby prior to flight early next morning and walked here. The food was good. A few specials. The bartenders were great and provided friendly, quick service. Plenty of tvs, trivia was going on. Seemed like a lot of regulars. I would definitely go back if I was in the area. Bree primarily served me and was very nice.

    Hair in food. Nasty.

Its in a nice little spot, there was plenty of parking and the space is clearly new which you notice in a nice clean newly paved parking lot. I like when I walked in- there is a small entry - you're not thrown into a big space. I wasn't expecting table service at a brewery - even with a full menu - that was a nice surprise. Our server did have a slight lag where we were thinking wheeerrrrrre did he go? But the rest of the night he was on top of things. I ordered poutine and a couple of beers. The poutine was good - I like shoestring fries. But I have one beloved former RI restaurants poutine taking up too big a space in my heart still, and this didn't quite hit that. But it was a good snack. Great serving size. We sat in a small alcove with like 4 - 4 top tables. I dig the decorations. Christmas lights are festive and fun. The bar looked decently busy for a wednesday evening - but the acoustics inside work well and it didn't feel noisy or distracting. I got the Cohesive (American IPA) and def enjoyed it. Balanced, not too hoppy, crisp.

There's bar seating, tables, outdoor space, and even fire pits, and the overall atmosphere is spot on. We didn't love our particular table - we were seated right where people line up to order beer, so it felt like they were basically standing at our table. If I went back, I'd probably ask to sit somewhere else or just grab a seat at the bar. The beer was decent, with about 8-10 varieties on tap. You can tell this is a local favorite. What a great place to meet up and connect with friends! Definitely worth checking out.

It was very cramped. I sat in the inside chair, in order for me to get out, my husband had to get up and move his chair totally out and around the end of the table for me to get out. The table on the other side had the chairs right up against the chairs behind it. Whatever. We got settled and looked at the menu. First item on the app menu was a bread basket. 4 rolls of bread for $8. Most places just bring bread. Ok, we aren't getting bread. Ordered drinks. I got an apple cinnamon mule. It was very tasty, but 2 sips and the drink was gone. The cup was filled to the top with ice once the drink was gone. Ordered the sirloin sandwich. Server said it's her favorite thing on the menu. I ordered the horseradish on the side because too much is overwhelming. It came smothered in horseradish. The person who brought it food placed it and was gone, so I didn't have a chance to say anything. I managed to take the steak out and wipe off the horseradish... there was soooo much. I couldn't eat the bread. By the time the server came over to ask how everything was, the rest of my party was almost done eating. I mentioned that the horseradish was supposed to be on the side and she said "oh no! It's ok though right?" I said I guess it will have to be, as she can see most of my dinner was untouched and I was eating my wiped off steak with a knife and fork. She didn't say anything else and left. No manager came by. She never came back other than to drop the check. After we ate my husband told me his ahi tuna bowl had a ton of soy sauce in the bottom and the rice was swimming in it, so he didn't finish that. We won't be returning. I have written many yelp reviews and almost all our positive. If I don't like a restaurant, I usually just don't review it. But after reading other negative reviews for this restaurant, I figured I should warn people. Had I read the reviews first, I probably wouldn't have gone. Lesson learned.

The food was good, but not as amazing as I had thought or hoped. Of course, this is my opinion and you are welcome to disagree. In fact, I'm happy for you if you had a better time. The menu read very fancy and culinarily interesting, but for me at least, that just meant they took what would be great, but overcomplicated it, made it too foodie. No matter what I ordered I would have had to change something. I got the chicken sandwich. I'm in the 10% of the population where cilantro tastes like soap, but cilantro is mixed into the slaw that is the primary thing on the sandwich. I also asked for light chili mayo because I don't like too much. If that was light mayo, then maybe they normally serve it in a bowl of chili mayo. It was 2 relatively large, very fried, chicken breasts. I immediately took one off because I knew I would make myself sick eating so much. Frankly, it basically tasted like a fried and chili mayo sandwich. All the chicken flavor was completely drowned out by the fried taste. I don't think I'd order that again. I swapped out the sides for the Gruyère mashed potatoes. They were very good, but they got really dry and starchy by the end. I got the espresso mock-tini, which was basically milk and a shot of espresso in a martini glass. I could have downed it all in one gulp. It was nonalcoholic, but it was still priced the same as the alcoholic stuff. Bottom line, if the company were paying again, I'd give it another try, but if I lived here I don't think I'd come here again on my own. Still awesome service though, and plenty of people love it, so hopefully it works better for you!

Most egregious: the shrimp that came with the Caesar salad was POPCORN SHRIMP coated in SWEET-AND-SOUR sauce. I truly couldn't believe it. Why wouldn't the server at least warn me? To add insult to injury, my salad was overdressed and soggy. Also, the dressing was revolting. I don't mind anchovies for flavor, but the dressing tasted like an anchovy puree. I think it was maybe past its prime. I had one bite and couldn't continue. Inedible. And the fries. The parmesan truffle fries were drenched in mayonnaise??? I don't really care for mayo but I don't mind a drizzle or an aioli dipping sauce. However, the mayo to fry ratio was literally 2:1. I tried to wipe it off and it was still like a mayo-fry soup. Inedible. I took everything to go and just trashed it. I've NEVER done that before. This is a delayed review (meal was a few months ago) and I'm still rattled by how bad it was.

On St. Patrick's Day, I watched multiple bartenders yelling at each other in plain sight of the customers. It was uncomfortable and honestly just sad to witness at a place I've always loved. We left and went elsewhere. It also made sense of something I'd been noticing on recent visits, the place has been unusually quiet for what it had always been. Having been a regular through many staff changes over the years, I can say with confidence that the current bartenders simply don't represent what McKinley's is and what it stands for. I am not the first to state this. The right staff sets the tone for the whole place -- and right now, this group is chipping away at the local reputation and vibe that it's known for. I say all of this as someone who genuinely loves this place and wants to keep coming back. I really hope ownership and management take a hard look at what's happening, because the people behind the bar right now, I believe, are the reason regulars are walking out early, not coming back as often, or even coming back at all. They're definitely starting to get a reputation in our small town. There are too many great local spots to settle for an experience like this. We were greeted after an on going conversation was completed in a friendly manner. After a couple of questions about beers on tap, we placed our drink order. The ambiance is very casual. It looks to have been updated with newer flooring and metal and wood seating throughout. Besides bar seating, there are a few high top tables. Staff and guests were very friendly and easy going. Patrons went up to the bar to order and bussed their glassware/empty bottles. We were not offered a food menu when we arrived. Maybe because it was an 'off' hour for a meal? The drinks are reasonably priced and they offer a cash discount. The POS (point of sale, aka: register/order system) calculates your credit card purchased beverages at a slightly higher rate. These fees are not uncommon for a small business trying to keep prices down. As long as the fees are kept 'reasonable' I don't mind. It's my choice to use a credit card. They offer a few beers on tap, basic wines by the glass and plenty of canned beverages besides a pretty well stocked bar. This is very much an unfussy, friendly neighborhood bar.
