McBride's is such a chill spot in Wayland Square, I'm so happy I found it! With a laid-back vibe, great beer selection, and super friendly owners who are always making everyone feel welcome. The chicken sandwich is a must-try! (huge crispy cutlet drizzled with balsamic omg) Perfect place to kick back after work or meet up with friends for a drink and good food.

I will ALWAYS recommend this place! It's literally our "go to" restaurant when we have friends in town and want awesome food. We have never been let down by McBride's! The wait staff is the best! The owners Jen and Brendan care about your patronage. We love the place itself, and can't wait to see the addition open! So excited for them! Great place!! If you haven't been, what are you waiting for? Their Reuben, chicken pot pie, shepherds pie, bbq chicken pizza, any burger, pretzel sticks,..... seriously?! Everything is amazing!!

McBride's seems like the odd one out on a street of bougie places on the East Side. Straightforward, it's your traditional Irish pub. Lots of wood, lots of TVs, good amount of seating. I was welcomed to my seat at the bar and soon enough my order was on its way! I was brought here by the RI Food Fights event, Lord of the Wings. I ordered the chef's special, garlic Parm. With it I got a side Cobb salad. Holy portions, Batman! I'm so glad I got the side Cobb salad because it was loaded with goodness. Ingredients were very fresh and I liked that the lettuce base was tossed in dressing. It made it easy to enjoy immediately. The wings were decent. It was a little light on the sauce, which was a shame because what I could taste was delicious. The skin had that good snap to it as well. It was nice to find a comfortable spot in an area where aesthetics usually supersedes quality. While the wings were okay, I really enjoyed the salad and there were a few items on the menu that piqued my interest. I'll be sure to come back next time I'm in that part of the city.

Love Mc Brides, it's a "go to" for myself and my clients when we want a close enough to walk to and good enough to keep going place. Mc Brides is a smallish tavern with a restaurant that pumps out the usual Irish fare with efficiency and friendly staff. Be prepared for sports being broadcast from the bar by a big screen TV which can be easily seen from the table side. Quiet is not something you will get in this busy pub. The food is amazing, the burgers overshadow the other choices. The fries are so crisp and clearly home made, the nachos were okay and the Blue cheese burger was literally dripping blue cheese down the sides. Go. Go hungry and bring your friends!

One of our favorite things about doing RI Food Fights is discoving new-to-us places. The Lord of the Wings competition brought us here & left us wondering how we've never discovered this place before! I perfect, little Irish pub brought us right back to the rolling hills if Ireland - so authentic. Our friendly server told us that Tuesday nights feature live, tradition Irish music & we can't wait to return for this. The buffalo wings were very good - crispy, saucy, spicy & our pint of Guinness was fresh & cold. Perfectly how good pub fare should be!

RI Food Fight - Wings 2024: Got the BBQ and sweet chili wings. The service was fast and the waiter was very friendly. However, was a bit disappointed that the menu was a bit outdated so the prices (for the sweet potato fries) did not match what came on the check. But overall still a great experience.

I would absolutely give my grilled chicken Caesar salad a five star. It was a large portion with garlic croutons and everything about it was really delicious. The burgers we ordered were cooked to perfection. While you can get fries on the side both people at my table ordered side salads and they were huge and really well done. The atmosphere is quite nice for a pub. It's typically got enough street parking and if the weather is nice the outdoor patio is fantastic. Large beer selection and Stella on tap. But to be honest, the service is slow and it does take quite a bit of time for the food to come out. So if you go in with the attitude that you're going to hang out and enjoy yourself I would give it a five star review. If you're going in to eat and leave then it may be a little irritating. It's such a great pub with good food, I would go with clear expectations and enjoy yourself!!

Awesome food, service, and drinks. The ambiance is great. We came for the RI Food Fights wings. They were great! The crispy chicken sandwich and special chipotle avocado burger were awesome. French fries were tasty!

We came in for lunch today and the place was really quiet, since they had just opened. After waiting for a moment, we were told that we could seat ourselves anywhere in the restaurant and could pick our own table. Our server brought over menus and asked us for our drink order while we decided what we were going to have. Several things on the menu sounded really delicious so we ordered a Reuben, a burger, the Mac and cheese and some wings. The food was really good and everyone at the table enjoyed the food. I loved reading about the story of how they transformed the funeral home garage into this bar and repurposed some of the original doors and windows into this new space. I bet the outdoor patio seating is wonderful in the summer and look forward to returning to check it out

Perfect pub vibe. Great service and food! Came in for a Guinness and a good Irish meal. Was not disappointed.

Parking lot behind pub. Bring in your ticket to be validated.

Recommended by friends, we stopped in for a (very) late lunch 'spur of the moment.' Located on busy Wayland Avenue, there may be some street parking available, however, passing the restaurant on our right, we made the first right hand turn and parked on the sides street. Come to find out, customers can park in the lot directly behind the restaurant. Just get your parking receipt from the parking lot attendant, and have it validated inside the restaurant. There is a restaurant entrance right off this parking lot so it's super convenient and most people were entering through that back door for both 'pick up' orders and dining-in. Ordering pick-up can be done through their website: mcbrides-pub.com. The menu is limited at the moment and the on-line menu still contains all the 'original' items. You will see some items 'grayed out' and not selectable as they are unavailable at the moment. After selecting an item, a pop-up window gives you options of cooking temperature, add-on's available and any special instructions needed to be known by staff, such as food allergies, or 'no bacon' for example. If you are dining-in during busy meal times, call in advance (751-3000, or 3001) to make a reservation. We arrived between regular meal times, and had no trouble finding a table. Located on a table by the front door is a binder and pen to sign in w/your contact information as required by the state of RI during this pandemic. There is hand sanitizer located on the wall by the door if you'd like to sanitize after using the pen. Customers seat themselves, and we chose a high-top across from the bar. There is no bar seating at this time, so plenty of space for staff to walk back and forth in this area. The bartender was our waitress (Jen), we were greeted immediately upon entering and asked to sign-in. She brought over menu's and took our drink order. She stood well back from the table any time she stopped by and was wearing a face mask, as were all staff and customers who were not seated. Like most Irish Pubs in RI, there were not playing Irish music. In our minds including Irish music adds to the ambiance. The music selections included Stevie NIcks, Tom Petty and the like, and was loud enough to hear easily and low enough to not interfere w/conversation. The interior is casual, very clean and based on pubs we have been to in Ireland, on point. (Honestly, we have been to many Irish pubs, and they are all unique. You can't say 'this' is how an Irish Pub should look because every one has it's own personality.) We started with a Corned beef quesadilla. Flour tortilla, filled with thick slices of lean corned beef, shredded cabbage and lots of cheese to hold it all together then grilled. Served in four sections with sour cream this is enough for me as a lunch. The cabbage was crunchy, the taste mild, the cheese nice and stringy. Dip it into the sour cream and it's a very tasty snack. I ordered the lamb sliders as my entrée. The buns are toasted nicely, the lamb is cooked medium and was very juicy. There was just the right amount of tomato and lettuce on there and the fig jam, a bit sweet without being over powering, was just the right touch. It is served with a pickle slice that for me wasn't 'tart' enough. I like a nice sour dill pickle, and if you prefer yours a bit sweet, you would enjoy this one. It also had a nice crunch to it. As a side with my sliders I ordered the coleslaw. A 50/50 mix of carrots and cabbage, it was crunchy with a dressing that has a sweetness along with a vinegar note that was well balanced. The Shepherds pie was devoured by my SO and it's made with lamb, (hence it's name) not ground beef which is just as it should be in an Irish Pub! He was hoping they had a stew available, but it is not a menu option and the shepherds pie was a satisfactory substitute. This is a neighborhood pub with locals stopping in throughout our visit. It's the sort of place they really do know your name and creates a sense of community. The service was excellent. Even though Jen was managing the mid-meal restaurant and bar alone, she kept up with everything including refilling our water glasses frequently which we very much appreciate! The menus used by guests were washed down w/sanitizer: very good to know. There are hand sanitizer dispensers on the walls by the kitchen, front door and the hallway leading to the back door and restrooms. The restrooms are 'single person' and quite large. The ladies room included a baby changing station and hands free paper towel dispenser. We very much enjoyed this restaurant and pub. The staff is very friendly, the locals loved being there and were happy to let us know, and the food is good quality.
