This is a nice little pub. The bartenders were very friendly and laid-back. Do you like corned beef? If you do, get a corned beef sandwich here with whatever you're drinking. It's outstanding! They have about 6 sandwiches to choose from, all inexpensive. Very basic menu, but so what? It's a great little pub with excellent draft Guinness and other beers imported and domestic. Very inexpensive. Fun atmosphere, good people, good music. There's a few TVs around the bar if sports is your thing. Dart boards too. And Keno! This is what a regular watering hole should be.

Old school pub. Great sandwiches. Nothing fancy, just a good place to go have a few without the drama.

It's also very shareable (thought I took a pic but didn't..oops!). The churros were crispy and came in 4 pieces with a side of chocolate to dip. It was good but could be a bit softer inside. Overall, good spot to meet up for drinks and snacks! Service: Our waitress was super attentive and very nice. She checked in on us often. Ambiance: It's a nice spot. Looks like a big log cabin and plenty of tables and seatings. Great for watching sports too. There was a singer there for the night and he was good! There's also a parking lot in the front. Would go again.

Food on floor, tables had a crayon used as a shim to keep from wobbling. It even smelled like a greasy old friendlys. I watched someone clear 2 tables and not wipe them down (he apologized and wiped them down after). I canceled my food order and paid for my two sodas. They were very nice about it, so extra star for not being rude to me but the owner really needs to have this place deep cleaned and make some updates. I remember coming here to the grand opening and really loving it here. We often visit the one in Smithfield and it's clean and food always delicious. I felt bad but I'm a little OCD (I'm a nurse) and have had food poisoning in the past. If the common areas are dirty I worry what the kitchen looks like.

She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

The restaurant wasn't too busy, but there was a steady crowd. People were either dining in or picking up to-go orders. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, so there are plenty of areas to dine. The bartender was friendly and helpful. I decided to go with the seared salmon, Brussels sprouts, and corn risotto. Thankfully, it wasn't much of a wait because I was hungry. My food came out fresh and hot. Everything was really delicious. My only complaint was there were a few flies swarming around me, which made my dining experience less enjoyable. I spent most of my time trying to swat them away. The bartender even moved me to another spot, but they still followed me. While I really enjoyed my food and the service, it might be a good idea for them to invest in small table fans to keep the flies away. Otherwise, my food was tasty, and the service was great!
