Sat at the bar for lunch on a gorgeous weekend day. The barkeep and one other person handled both the bar, indoor dining and outdoor patio. That's a lot, but on this day, the place was almost empty. Nice weather = low patrons. Everyone is out enjoying the day. A few more parties did arrived during our visit and sat both inside and out so they got busy. The bartender took our drink order and handed over menus. This two sided, laminated menu has a lot on offer. Pub fare like wings, burgers and sandwiches, plus entrées, salads and apps. Once we ordered we were given place mats and flatware. We both got sandwiches and side salads. The salads came out first with our dressings on the side. I chose their house dressing which seems to be a mix of dressing like thousand island and some others. It's mild and pleasant. The salad is fresh and for a side salad, a good size. Our meals came out shortly after we had finished our salads and wow, this is a lot of food. Both were very tasty with fresh bread, plenty of toppings and my burger was cooked as ordered. We ended up taking half of both home. The fries were very good. This spot was recommended to us by a waitress at another nearby restaurant. It's a nice, neighborhood restaurant and bar. Had a nice late lunch watching the Pats at Harris. Delaney, our server, was very friendly and attentive. Ordered stuffed mushrooms, prime rib, Harris burger, and meatball grinder. Don't sleep on this place because it's awesome. We went here a few weeks ago for dinner with friends. Casual ambiance with mostly street parking. Service was fast and friendly. I was just blown away by the food quality - in my opinion, it can can go toe-to-toe with any Italian restaurant around. The appetizers, including the calamari, were great. My son and his friends went in last night. They left a crappy tip and as they were leaving, 2 men came out calling them f****s and banging g on their car windows. They were scared. I will never go back to this bar. They are newly 21 and dont understand that they need to tip well but these 2 men coming out was ridiculous. read more

Service here at the Harris Bar and Grill is first rate. It was a bit busy, and apparently some computer issues, and our waitress apologized each time she came to us for the wait we had. It is a bar atmosphere with large tables for bigger parties, smaller tables, and a huge bar. There is also an outside area, which was quite busy on a Friday night. It was late, and I opted to have an appetizer of the seafood stuffed mushrooms and a small Ceasar salad. My husband had the baked stuffed scrod with mash potatoes and vegetables. Yum!! We went here with a friend. It is a bar and grill so the ambiance is what you would expect. Tge food is great! I had the meatloaf which was huge. They are under new ownership and will say each time I have gone the food has been very very good and service has been excellent with short food times. Each time I have gone I got shrimp fra diavlo which is very good and people I have gone with have liked their food. We went on a Sunday evening just to have a drink and a light meal and play a little Keno. It was just the right spot for that. There were very few people in the bar on the Sunday night which I hear is unusual but it was OK with us. We shared a pastrami sandwich which could've used a little bit more pastrami. Hidden gem in Coventry--it's way out there but totally worth it. Prices are really great + free popcorn while you wait. Let's get serious though--quite possibly the BEST pizza ever here people--grilled on flatbread to perfection. So delicious. There is probably over 20 tvs inside + parking is never an issue and you can always find a seat at the bar or in the general restaurant. It always makes me sad that they don't have ice tea but it's a small price to pay for the delicious food. It is clearly a bar full of locals that WILL give ya the good old stare down when you walk in but the waitresses are nice and if you want a meal that you dream about for days afterward + don't mind hearing a couple guys relive high school then this is your kind of place. read more

I know that the Harris has been in business for a long time, and I don't like leaving a bad review, but when the service is as deplorable as it was at lunch yesterday... It started with a pleasant greeting from the bartender/waitress who asked for our drink order and brought us menus. My friend asked for water with lemon and did not get the lemon...this would NOT be a big deal, but it was a preview of what was to come. She came back and took our order - my friend ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered a turkey supreme sandwich that I only wanted the cheese and the turkey on. My friend reminded the waitress about the lemon and another 7-10 minutes later it came. A few minutes after that, our lunch came. My turkey supreme was just turkey on marble bread...no cheese - again - ok - things happen. I just wanted the waitress to know so that I would not be charged for a specialty sandwich rather than just a normal sandwich if there was even a difference. With a bit of an attitude, she did not apologize, but offered to throw the sandwich back on the grill or to get me another side order of something, and I said no, because I had already bitten into the sandwich and the fries that were with it were fine...until I found a hair curled around one of them. Again...all of these things can happen, but the waitress upon our telling her, just took the dishes and in a very curt and rude way stated "your'e all set - you can just go." No apology no trying to even make an attempt to recover any possibility that we would come back...we were just complaining nuisances to her and she wanted to be rid of us. It worked. The Harris Bar & Grill is now our favorite Indian restaurant. Their food surpassed even our favorites from Dayton and Chicago. We ordered carry out and it was ready when I got there. They have an extensive menu from which I am looking forward to try more. The food seemed very fresh and flavorful. The naan was delicious and was cleverly shaped so you could scoop with it or use it as a burrito. The cheese cubes were homemade and were the best I've ever had.
