It's been over a decade since I was last in Tremblay's, dancing on the bar at close after a long night of drinking with coworkers. Nothing has changed, in the best way possible. Stained glass lamp shades, neon beer signs and an iconic wooden bar greet you as you enter. Our bartender was handling almost a full bar when we walked in and we were welcomed into the fold like family. She efficiently got our food order in and before we knew it, it arrived. We got the 6pc wing with the housemade Stormin Norman Peach Habanero sauce. The wings were jumbo (as advertised) and had a decent snap to them, but the sauce was incredible. Even through the natural heat of the pepper, the sweetness and flavor of the peach came through. The sauce was thick and each wing was coated completely, as a wing SHOULD come. Paired with the housemade blue cheese dressing, it was a match made in wing heaven. On the side we split the Caesar salad. Just the right amount of dressing, nice clean crunchy romaine, it was the perfect cooling component to the heat of the wing. After not being back for all this time, it was a pleasure to come through and have a great meal. Next time you're in Island Park, make sure to stop by and check it out yourself! This place gave us the shits! Not joking. My husband and I were both plagues about 45 minutes after eating, luckily we had just made it home. What did we eat that our kids hadn't eaten? Wings and blue cheese. Wings- Buffaque (my husband found them too sweet and I thought they were just too smothered in the sauce for my liking) Ordered well done- were not well done BLB Burger- stacked but needs more flavor. (I added blue cheese dressing.) Side salad instead of the fries- was a legitimate side salad! Both kids had sliders and the portion was good for them. My husband had a fish sandwich and it was a great portion. he said he enjoyed the sandwich. The blue cheese- house made and delicious. But was this the culprit of the bathroom adventure? We have been coming back to Tremblay's for wing Tuesdays and have yet to be disappointed! The wings are amazing! All flavors are delicious, so don't make me pick! Their gator tots are also the absolute best. You cannot make them this good at home! Their service is the best, even when things get busy. Lots of local new England choices. Attentive, friendly, and hard-working staff. Large venue by the water. My favorite flavor wings are mango habenero. Sweet and spicy. Don't rub your eyes after eating them, or you'll regret it! Buffalo is weak on the spice level. BBQ is ok. Teriyaki meh. Easy street parking. No issues, parking super close for free. Came on 8/3 with my daughter was around 2:15. Waitress says to sit wherever we'd like. She continued to walk around constantly,finally ordered drinks. Ordered a chicken sandwich and a Smashburger at the same time order was taken for drinks. Finally got the drinks 15 minutes later then 45 minutes later I had to hail another waitress and ask her what was taking so long said they were slammed upstairs, but from the looks of the parking lot, I doubt it. Needless to say our waitress should've been the one to tell us that. Finally got our food,waitress never came back to check on us offered a refill at the end of the meal. Can't say enough good stuff about this place!! Got the cup of chili..WOW!!! Spicy (the right amount of kick) loads of meat!!! Also the brussel sprouts DONE right!! Clam cakes with banana peppers and chourico were very good. An ice cold Whaler's near the water was great. The chourico sandwich was pretty good. Using ground meat left some parts of the sandwich very fatty and inedible. Service was good and location can't be beat. read more

I was there for dinner with eight friends. We were ordering appetizers one of which were 2 dozen clam cakes. When they came from the kitchen you could see they were burnt to a crisp. We brought it to the attention of the waitress and she took them away. What they didn't know is that I'm a certified executive chef and retired college professor in this area. When she returned she said those are Portuguese stile. It would have been okay but if you don't know what you're talking about say nothing. From the kitchen it was told to us if they cooked them lighter they'd be raw in the middle. Obviously they didn't know that they were using dirty oil and it was the reason the food was burnt . I have been to this establishment many times in the past however, this past Saturday night was very dead and I can see why the prices of food have gone up astronomically and the quality has gone down. I ordered the steak and cheese sandwich. It was absolutely disgusting my friend ordered a bowl of soup or something. It was OK but they forgot to put the cheese on it. We were going to order a pretzel, but when we saw the cost of the pretzel $16 we almost fainted unfortunately I don't know what's happening over there, but the food in the past was good the menu has changed. I moved up to this area from Pennsylvania where we take bar food very seriously. It took me almost 7 months to find a reasonable wing on this island. Tremblays is under a new owner and I have met him - his name is Mike. Mike has redesigned this menu as well as the attitude of the establishment - it is so comfortable and friendly - even the cooks will come out and you can chat food with them or the owner. Always open to suggestions too! Naturally they have taps (8 of them) and a full liquor bar. I am very picky about my wings because I like them very hot and I have found the best wing on the Aquidneck island here. Tremblay's is a family-friendly pub in Portsmouth. I went with my family last month and was pleasantly surprised by the food and the atmosphere. It's a big space, including two pool tables, and the decor is typical pub style with a bar at the center. Even at its busiest times, you shouldn't have a problem finding a seat. A good mix of couples, older folks, and whole families. Feels like all of town is having beers. They had about 8 beers on tap and a bigger selection by the bottle. Most all big brands (Blue Moon, Yuengling, Bud) with a couple of bigger craft options, looked lager and IPA-heavy. Reasonable prices. They do also have cocktails. The menu has your typical bar food, like burgers (including a chourico-blended version), sandwiches, melts, and wings, but there's also a good amount of entrees like meatloaf, mac and cheese, and short rib bolognese. We split some wings-- six (for $6) was more than enough, super meaty, and the Cajun dry rub was nice. We both ended up doing burgers. The classic burger ($9, LTO and cheese included) was massive and juicy; one of the better burgers I've had recently. Could barely finish. The fries, both potato and sweet potato, complimentary with burgers, were also great. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was quick. Everything was clean. My wife and I popped in here on a Friday night as it was on our hit list of local spots to investigate. It wasn't really busy but you could tell they were understaffed so we absolutely understood the longer than normal wait for our food to arrive. We each got a burger and grabbed a separate order of their Onion rings. Sadly the onion rings were dropping with grease so they were less than appealing. Both our burgers were ordered medium rare and came well done. Again, seeming they were shorthanded it could explain the quality. We're going to give them another shot and update based on that. Now, it is a bare bones operation with a few booths and a Table or two. That's The only negative. The good is outstanding. I had the meatloaf with mashed and string beans. Delicious. A truly generous portion. My friend had the equally excellent Sheppard's pie, covered in a flaky crust. The real positive as it is in any restaurant is the server. Abbey is a happy, friendly, and efficient employee. She cared about as customers without being obtrusive. Any business establishment would be richter for her contribution. A family-owned bar that's down to earth, then look no further than Tremblay's. Mike MacFarlane, the owner, was very kind enough to allow us to have our wedding after-party at his establishment starting at 10 pm on a Saturday night. Keeping the kitchen open for a couple of hours over its usual closing time all while collaborating on what local brews to have available and on tap, Mike and his staff looked out for us and our wedding guests, ensuring there was no interruption to what had already been both a magical and special day. Plenty of games for our friends and family to enjoy, along with an awesome, local beer selection, and also having the groom's alma mater college football game on the TV's (which happened to win in fantastic last-minute fanfare), Tremblay's turned out to be a special and memorable place during our wedding. Here visiting for the week from the west coast before heading back to school on Monday and have been promising myself I'd find another place to eat it. But by the time we get back to the house after a day of being touristy all I can think of is disco fries, onion straws and Cajun dry rub wings now. The chowder and salad was great too but those are the real show stoppers. Personally would have like balsamic not the raspberry w the goat cheese salad because it was a little too sweet for me. Last Saturday night I had the prime rib and our 7 y. o. had fish and chips. Both dinners were excellent both in terms of flavor, presentation, and actually in size as well. The fish was too big for a 7 year old but she ate almost all of it anyway because it was so tasty and good. It was breaded but not overly and the french fries with it were really excellent as well. My prime rib was done perfectly and whatever juices it was marinated in were so flavorful I didn't use the truly excellent horseradish sauce that came with it even though I love a good horseradish sauce with a prime rib and this was about the best I've had. The wait staff was excellent, warm and friendly and very professional. I'll definitely be back on a Saturday for the prime rib and fish and chips. read more
