As a Bristol visitor, a few friends and I were hoping to get a nice dinner in before heading over to Borealis for a fun jazz music-filled evening and Beach House was the perfect spot! When we first showed up, it wasn't super busy, but the place was starting to get full, and we DID have to get a reservation to ensure that we weren't waiting/to make sure we were at our next spot on time. A fun little addition to this restaurant is that they also double as an ice cream shop which would have been the PERFECT dessert for me if I wasn't so full after my dinner. The indoor seating we were put in was a high top, but it was just enough room to seat 5 people comortably. I ordered the Bayview Burger paired truffle fries (chose to upgrade from normal fries), and it was the absolute most perfect choice! I also tried the Brussel Sprouts, but I would say if you like them crispy all the way through, these were not. I also had a fun mocktail with a dragonfruit (unfortunately can't find the name of the drink, but the picture is below) to pair with my food--I will say that while it was tasty, it was pretty sweet but was the perfect pair with my Bayview Burger, which was a bit on the saltier side. The only downside to our experience is that once it did start getting pretty busy in the restaurant, the service was much much slower (which is a given with how busy it was) and we had to ask a different waiter to help us get our check and head out. Their menu is a little weird and really expensive for what it is in my opinion. I was planning to order the pork dumplings because I thought some dumplings in the appetizer were shrimp and some were pork, but they were blended together so we got the Hawaiian teriyaki chicken tenders instead. They're $19 for 5-6 and were dry but the flavor was good. Usually this kind of place gets me to order a burger but it was $26 and an extra $3 for sweet potato fries, so I just couldn't justify it. A side of sweet potato fries is $7 but I couldn't justify that either without knowing the size. I ended up just getting s'mores ice cream (which you can get at the ice cream shop down the steps or order from the table) and it was maybe the most expensive ice cream I've bought! It also took forever to the ice cream we ordered table side to come-- I think it would've been faster to just order it myself. The s'mores ice cream was SO GOOD THOUGH. Best s'mores ice cream i've had, albeit quite melted by the time it got to us. Our waitress was nice and I'm sure it was an overwhelming day to be working. There's not AC inside but I think people come to sit outside and by the water so maybe that's fine. Personally I love AC so I was a little disappointed by how hot it was inside. They played religious music inside which also irked me a little but it might've just been for the 4th? Probably wouldn't come back to Beach House but glad we got to try it. We've been here many times over several years and it's always been great, but today was truly awful. We waited at the host stand for 20 minutes before being greeted. We were then seated in direct sun with no breeze (what happened to all the umbrellas they used to have?) - we asked to move to shade, the host said that all the shady tables were booked for reservations, but they remained empty throughout the time we were there. The food came out scalding hot, while most drinks were room temp by the time they made it to our table. Also, we both blew up like balloons after only half a sandwich. Saw pictures of the outside by the water looked nice. So booked a reservation for last night last reservation is at 7. My friend and I looked at the menu before heading down still making sure wanted to go. Had good selection. Get to restaurant the host was at host stand then when walked up waited 10 mins. Two servers came by said she be back.. We were seated on the deck which was nice. First was happy I brought a jacket definitely had a breeze being on water. I would've been cold eating dinner if I hadn't. Waitress sat us gave menus then walked away 10 mins later asked how were were then said she be back again. The view here is absolutely gorgeous and the food & drinks are solid as well. We visited The Beach House yesterday afternoon and it was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy the end of the summer. Service was great, and our drinks arrived promptly. We split the Fig & Prosciutto Flatbread, which was perfectly cooked - the crust was crisp but not charred and the toppings were generous and even throughout the pizza. We were recommended to go to this restaurant by the Airbnb host. We made a reservation online using Open Table. When we arrived, we walked up to the hostess stand, gave our name, and were immediately seated. While most patrons sat outside, it wasn't an option for us because it was very crowded. We didn't mind sitting inside at all because it was so bright and airy that we still felt like we were visiting a beach house. The waitress was so helpful in recommendations and was very attentive to our needs and wants. Nick said the fries were really good but the burger was just okay. The wings as an appetizer were really tasty. My husband LOVED his Ahi Tuna Noodle bowl and I like the Watermelon & Buratta salad was very good but I asked for blackened chicken and it came plain. Two types of offerings are on their menu- regular lunches- salads, sandwiches, soups, appetizers OR dinner type entrees. So we each had a hand held. My family and I ate lunch at The Beach House while visiting the area. Overall it was a positive experience with great service and decent food. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was pretty quiet (and raining) so the place wasn't busy at all. We were seated immediately at a table with views of the water. I imagine when the weather is nicer the patio is a really nice spot to sit outside. For food we started with their fresh focaccia bread. Two of our group ordered bowls of the Clam Chowder. For mains, the group ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread, Braised Short Rib Grilled Cheese, Fish & Chips, Grilled Swordfish, and Campanelle with Shrimp. Most of the group really enjoyed their food. I ordered the Fish & Chips and thought they were fantastic. My partner ordered the Grilled Swordfish but said it was overcooked and just okay. No complaints on the rest of the dishes. Our server was great. Super friendly and attentive. She checked-in frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. We had been to the Beach House 3-4 years ago and it was nice. Yesterday we went and it was AWFUL! The maple wings were hard and tasted SO salty with a hint of artificial maple flavor. The calamari was lovely calamari with what tasted like a jar of store bought Thai sauce poured on top -gross! The lobster street corn dip had one tidbit of lobster and it looked and tasted like someone threw some cheese and corn into clam chowder for $20!!! - terrible!! Ah what memories I have as a RWU student 20 years ago when this was Topsides with ten cent then quarter wings! Now I've become an adult and so has this place! We started with cocktails and wine and the calamari which was both different and delicious! Then on to the rest: a bowl of chowder, beet salad, shrimp tacos, ahi and chips, salmon with street corn and rice. The food was mostly really good and represented a menu diverse in flavors while still paying homage to New England favorites and, of course, a local seafood focus. A few small tweaks could boost the rating (more chips with the ahi for example); and the staff were all wonderful though ours was still a wee bit green and learning some minor etiquette up skills. Honestly, you can't beat the setting. It was too chilly for us to eat outside but we would have in a heartbeat due to the gorgeous location and subsequent sunset. The interior is quite lovely and perfectly upscale beachy themed... light years away from the old red (?) carpet, pool table and crusty (though adored) bar of days gone by! Location, location, location, the Beach House definitely has it. Location is not everything in this case. I wanted to give this place a great review. The food is pricey for what you get. The menu is bar food. The vegetarian options limited. The hummus was covered in chili and chili oil . When I asked the server for a description that was not what I was told.. I cannot eat onions, the server put that on the order yet the kitchen added something that had onions in it. Had to be remade. And the service was pleasant but very , very , very slow. Yes they were busy but not organized and not efficient. Our server came to our table three times, never took our dinner order. When the busboy got her she said , "I never took your order." So they have the spot. With a tweak of the menu and more organized work stations, this place could really be something. Hope they get it together. read more

We went last week and our waiter took about 18 minutes to bring us our beer and glass of wine. I love this place! I came here a few times during my bike ride stops as the trail is literally right in front of it. It's so scenic and nice inside and outside of the restaurant. The service has always been nice nice and attentive there. And most of all, the food is wow! We recently had the salmon and faro dish and it was soooooooooo good! Just thinking about it is making me crave it. It was cooked to perfection. And I love faro and haven't seen many places with it in their dishes, so I had to try this one and it did not disappoint. Their calamari and chic peas fries was also delicious. I remember I ordered a drink from here a couple of years ago. Some sort of watermelon mule and that was also memorable. My friends and I went there on a Saturday night around 7 PM. We chose to sit at the bar to enjoy the camaraderie. It was harvest full moon and the view was beautiful. The bartender was inundated as she was alone. Hence the wait time was pretty long for drinks and food but I can't blame her. She was very nice. We all enjoyed our food choices. My only issue is paying $15 a drink in a small plastic cup. I ordered a Margarita and only asked for house tequila. Had a fantastic evening this past weekend with our friends that we hadn't seen in 15 LONG months because of covid. But now that we are fullIy vaxed it was a go!! First and last time!!!food was a 5/10 but thats not why only 1 star. When I received the bill $126 for 2 shrimp tacos, a fish and chips, a kids chicken tender, a margarita, and a glass of wine.I paid with my card and pushed no tip(i tipped with cash) 2 minute's later I received a notification from my credit card I was charged $149. I asked the waiter if gratuity was included and he said no and not sure why the amount was exactly 18% more. I have worked in the restaurant business and I am guessing that he canceled out my bills and recharged it with 18%. when I went back the next day The manager clearly says I was only charged the 126 then why is my card charging me 149. I believe they are pulling scams when you pay a tip with cash. We decided to finally meet up with some friends and enjoy the amazing view at The Beach House. Being a huge chowder fan we had to try theirs, and it did not disappoint. Full of clams and flavor, it was really enjoyable. For dinner We had to try the Seafood Risotto, which is really more of a paella than a risotto. It was good, but lacked the creamy cheesy risotto consistency that I was looking for. The seafood was plentiful and the mussels were big and bold, so still a a very good dish. Their bar was good as well, keeping us full of our Zombie on the Beach drinks. The drinks were good, but we needed a wet nap for the incredibly sticky glasses. Our waitress Morgan was beyond attentive on such a busy night! She was super friendly and so welcoming- giving all her tables enough attention. The Beach House has a great location and an excellent view. Based on a recent dinner I had there I would recommend them for drinks and appetizers at the bar. I was in on a Sunday night and we had made a reservation for dinner outside but were seated inside. For dinner I had the scallops, while the seafood was good quality, they were under cooked. Others in my party had the paella which also had good ingredients, but was dry. All the dinners were unspectacular. Service was decent so that is a plus. The views outside are very nice. The room we ate it was stuffy and sub par. The menu is a little eclectic and all over the place. If I were the owners I were lean in on the seafood items and what you might find at a Beach House. All in all, there is a lot of potential. I am sure I will be back for a drink at some point. read more

Went on Memorial Day for lunch. We sat at the outdoor bar overlooking the water. The location is beautiful. The food what you may expect - nothing special. We ordered a Cobb Salad and Lobster Roll (market price $42). A couple things that turned me off - the bathrooms are disgusting for a nice restaurant. (It wasn't overly crowded.) The smell of urine is over powering and the floors are wet with urine. I mentioned it to the manager who didn't seem to care much. Also the bartender was repeatedly counting her tips in front of customers. It was kind of weird. I thought her shift was over at least two times , but she stayed on. It's not a classy restaurant when basic cleanliness and etiquette are not important. Oh and they don't put the cocktail prices on the menu so you have to ask to get a response of "they vary." Well it would be "5" other than a continued issue - see below. What is not to like - on the water, lots of outdoor seating, free parking, large and tasty menu, well priced, and friendly wait staff. Our visit last night - note when it was about 1/2 filled so we are not talking about peak time. Similar to a visit a few weeks ago. Three cocktails and one appetizer (cauliflower bites or maybe "bits"). Then a VERY long wait for the entrees to be delivered (even our waiter came by saying "plating now" that turned into another 10 minutes)... Entrees were lobster ravioli, fish and chips, and a flatbread. All tasty and good size portions. Damages with tip for 3 was $170. Food 5/5 (taste, presentation) and 2/5 (SLOW!)
