I was a little disappointed in Boat House... Prior to going here I just expected it to be an amazing 5 star experience no questions asked, meanwhile the service was just lackluster and slow as time went on. The shrimp fritters, was the best thing I ate, but everything else was just ok. On my end I think I should've tried one of the popular dishes, as I think getting a chicken sandwich was trying to be too much on the safe side, and it backfired. Everything I ate was a little on the dry side. The chicken and bread was so dry that even the sauce on the sandwich couldn't save it. The highlight of the place is the outdoor view and ambiance of the place, so I automatically expected it to be really good. Even with the negative views on my end I think this place is 4 stars and in the right situation it can be 5 stars. Going on a busy Saturday in July is always going to be tough for a place to be perfect so I get it!

Our waiter Neil was awesome and our 3 and 6 year old loved him. They have a great kids menu that includes dessert and goldfish which is great to keep them entertained while waiting for their main food. The property is nicely maintained and there is a nice dock you can walk on. The food was yummy. I enjoyed my miso salmon and my partner enjoyed his scallops. This place has great value too compared to restaurants in downtown Newport but is of great or even better quality. Would definitely come back to this restaurant.

Dinner and service were particularly impressive. Food quality was outstanding. Miso Salmon was cooked perfectly right down to the enoki mushrooms. Lamb was flavorful and tender. The breading on the portobello was light and crispy. The salad side was dressed perfectly and the sun-dried tomatoes added a perfect punch of flavor. Service was outstanding, even my toddler grandson was doted on. Would definitely return.

We sat for dinner on a Sunday evening while the sun was setting. We were seated on there patio. Our server Audrey was attentive and helped recommend a bottle of wine. We started dinner with the-sweet onion truffle dip which comes with delicious homemade chips. Highly recommend! We then ordered entrees with myself getting the filet mignon and she got the coppini with pasta add on. We both enjoyed our meals. Mine was missing the fried onion garnish and hers was delicous.we finished dinner with lemon marscopone cake. Also recommend!

Empty deck from our table. Good thing the hostess put us the worst seat in the house.

In a restaurant full of empty tables, despite asking politely, they put us into a far back table on a completely empty deck.

The Boat House has always impressed us not only for the great food and amazing staff but the ambience and great views of the Sakonnet River and Mount Hope Bay. Our waitperson, Holly, was very attentive and had a great sense of humor making our visit even more enjoyable. This restaurant if a "must visit" and we will be back very soon! Enjoy the summer...John, Jean and Heidi.

Wow, wow, wow. How have I lived in RI my whole life and Ive never been here? Everything, and I mean everything was fantastic-from the ambiance to the craft cocktails to the food, to the service and never-mind the view. All the food was delicious-no notes. Cucumber and Whipped Feta App, the bread board, shrimp fritters, cioppino, statler chicken, truffle fries and asparagus-YUM. Sitting outside with a perfect playlist on a zero humidity July day was exactly what summer days are made of.

So impressed with my experience at the boat house! Food was phenomenal, and the staff is the best all around. From the host to the server we were treated so kindly, in addition to the quick service. Both chowders are my absolute favorite. Seafood scampi and swordfish were delicious. If you are in the area you have to stop in. Also, the views and environment inside are relaxing adding to the great experience.

The food was absolutely delicious, and our waitress was wonderful--so friendly and naturally welcoming. She made my birthday feel extra special, which meant a lot. The ambience was calm and relaxing, perfect for a family dinner. We wished we could've caught the sunset, but the reservations were fully booked. It's such a beautiful spot regardless! My kids really enjoyed their meals too. Portions were generous, so we ended up taking some leftovers home--a great ending to a lovely evening.

If you want to treat yourself to a coastal dining experience, this is my go to. The Boat House is beautiful, the portions are hearty, the service is amazing and the food is scrumptious! Only remembered to take one picture as I was taking in allll the ambiance. We ordered scallops over corn and asparagus, cucumber salad, and onion truffle dip with house made chips.

View from our table

Excellent spot for a fine dining experience with absolutely beautiful waterfront vista. Our party all raved about their dinners- Miso salmon, Jerk spice Tuna, grilled swordfish and a filet. All perfectly cooked and flavored. Crab cake app was full of large chunks of sweet, tender crab. All agreed best we ever had. Wines by glass were high quality. Service friendly and efficient. $$$$ Highly recommend.

Lobster roll with crispy fries

Today we finally made it to Boathouse in Tiverton, RI. We had called in advance for a reservation and I recommend that you do that. We had an excellent server. Ashley, was friendly, knew the menu and gave me a terrific recommendation. I ordered the crab cake and a side Caesar salad. Both items were delicious and the crab cake had a lovely sauce with it. My partner had the delicious lobster roll. The views are spectacular. We sat outdoors under a large awning. It was lunch, so the noise level was quiet in this area. This area has a large bar too. I know the weekends can be very busy in the summer, so slip away during the week.

Seafood Scampi

Loved this place! Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing, but the seafood scampi was the star of the show. Dessert is a must here, the crème brûlée as well as the espresso martinis, which our server recommended, were perfect. Location is also beautiful. Will def be back!

Why drive to Newport when this gorgeous waterfront gem of a restaurant is right in your back yard? Food and service always perfection.

When you walk in, the hostess greets you and brings you to either side of the restaurant. It is almost two separate areas, each with its own bar and seating. It is a nice layout. They have very comfortable booths with large tables. Our server came over, introduced herself, and took our drink orders. The drinks were generously sized and well made. They have a wide variety of cocktails, beers, and wine. They have an enormous menu with a variety of appetizers, burgers, salads, and entrees. They also have a "specials" sheet featuring rotating specials. We ordered their fried string beans and some Caesar salads to start. Both were very good. My wife had chicken parmigiana for her entree, our friends had salmon and cod, and I had the whole belly fried clam plate (YAY!). The portions were GENEROUS. My wife's chicken parmigiana was enough for three people. Best of all, my order of clams was enormous and perfectly made. I am a complete snob when it comes to fried clams. I rarely get them, and I can say that these were among the best I have had anywhere. Price and value were excellent. We said we would be back, and we made that official. Our second visit was just as good as the first. I had a beautifully prepared Prime Rib and my wife had salmon. Don't be like us and wait 15 years. Give this place a try ASAP.

Waitress did not check in to see how we liked our food after it was delivered, but otherwise gave great service with a smile. Menu is small and very meat and seafood centric - not especially ideal for picky eaters or vegetarians/vegans. The Thai wrap appetizer tasted exactly like the Asian salad you can buy in a bag at the grocery store for $3. They were not really 'wraps' but this pre-made salad tossed upon some leaves of lettuce, difficult to eat, and had only the smallest dallop of peanut sauce on them (which was the best part!) My partner's General Al's Chicken took you on a journey from savory to sweet to spicy flavor-wise, but there was something off about the taste that he did not care for (and I've never seen him dislike food at a restaurant. Ever.) My side salad was lettuce only doused in the same aforementioned Asian salad grocery store mix dressing, with lots of wilted/old lettuce that I had to pick out. My entree was good but tasted generic, like something I've had at other chain restaurants a million times before with no unique twist put on it. It had a sauce but it had little to no flavor - couldn't figure out what it even was and didn't remember it being on the menu - so it added nothing to the dish. There are lots of rave reviews here, but we just don't get it. We've ordered takeout from here before and that time, too, we were not overwhelmed with joy, just kind of 'whelmed.' Very 'meh,' and with so many other incredible food establishments within a 25 minute drive in Providence or in between, or even great local spots in town, this place just doesn't hold a candle. Not worth going back. It felt like a very novice chef was at the helm and dishes lacked inspiration and new, exciting flavors that we haven't seen before.
