The bun was delicious and they gave a hefty amount of lobster. Seasoned to perfection Clam cakes- 4 out of 10. Tasted more like a fish fritter with a lot of dough and filling. Baked stuff lobster - 9 out of 10. Would recommend and would have again. Seafood with a red pasta - 9.6 out of 10. My favorite. (I don't remember the name of this dish). Family members have moved locally near this area ----so I thought I'd pop in and check out the menu (UPDATED 4yrs ago?) and have a cupa chowdah !! Seems to have more pizzaz now! The Cheerful restaurant is clean bright, aptly decorated with seashore /fishing themes! I only had a short time to check this place out, but I enjoyed some delicious "white" chowder and met a wonderful number of service staff who were so enthusiastic and friendly. This is a gem in the area. A classic New England seafood place right by the harbor for the perfect ambience. Charlene was a friendly and perfect server. The calamari was tender and had great flavor. Our main entrees were delicious as well. The fish sandwich was a huge thick piece of cod that was moist and full of flavor. The baked scallops were a classic with rice pilaf and broccoli. We are planning to move up here in a few years and this will definitely be one of our regular seafood spots! read more

I'd have never known this place was here!! It's set back along the water and not on a main road. I met a friend for lunch and immediately liked the atmosphere inside. Service was excellent. We each got appetizers and entrees. I thought the clam chowder was pretty good. The clam cakes were a bit chewy but I've never had them before so maybe that's typical. The calamari was tasty. My scallop entree was ok, nothing memorable. I prefer larger diver scallops to the small type used in this dish. I didn't like the mashed squash I chose as my side. The server did say she'd bring something else but I had more than enough food already. My friend really enjoyed the fish tacos. I thought the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes. Atmosphere was beautiful, they also have an outdoor patio which is perfect for summer dining! The parking lot was almost full when we arrived and there really wasn't on-street parking available either, luckily one spot opened up for me. Had a pretty pleasant experience at the Crows Nest. Our work group bombarded them on a Sunday evening with two giant tables, but our server handled that like a pro and was very attentive to our needs and splitting checks etc. the room we were in was nice and had a fun fish tank backdrop. I'm not from RI, so of course I had to order all the foods I can't get in NE. Went with the baked stuffed lobster, it was a great amount of food, and I enjoyed it but after seeing the traditional butter variation had some regret of not going with the classic version. I also enjoyed the creamy NE clam chowder soup. The server talked up most of their sides and could not really give a concrete recommendation for one, so I went with the mashed potatoes, and will say that was the only underwhelming part of the meal, as their was nothing special about them, but I had enough lobster to not worry about eating them. Rating: 3.5 Came to try the place for dinner. It was pretty busy but we were able to be sat down relatively quickly as it's a large establishment. The place has its own parkings available. Inside is pretty typical of seafood restaurant around the area but with larger scale and do offer outside seatings as well. We ordered raw seafood sampler to start and i got lobster mac and cheese. Started with some bread and butter. Simple but solid. Seafood sampler was okay. Came with 6 oysters, shrimp and cherrystones. Oyster was probably the best and the horseradish sauce was also pretty good. Cherry stones were small and didn't have a-lot of meat and shrimp tasted and felt like frozen. Lobster mac and cheese was pretty tasty. Lots of cheese and al dente macaroni and good mount of lobster meat. Only thing is that there was a piece of lobster shell mixed in. My partner got the fish and chips and substituted coleslaw for steamed broccoli but they forgot the broccoli. We asked the waitress and they brought the broccoli quickly. Service was decent but they did forget the broccoli side. Overall the place was ok. Nothing really stood out and the price was on the higher end but without a good reason. I am currently in a wheelchair so I want to add that. I was having lunch with my mentor and she requested a table that my wheelchair could fit, and this was absolutely accommodated. The wheelchair entry is in the front of the building so if you park in the parking lot you have to go over gravel and be picked up since there's no easy access from the parking lot. We didn't know the entryway for wheelchair was directly in the front so just some info for anyone in a wheelchair or assisted devices. Walking in the place seems quite huge and the host was very friendly and walked me right in. Our server was very nice as well and very attentive. I love the little fish tank it was a cute touch. I also love that this is by the water, must be nice in the summer. So I ordered from the appetizer menu (to have as my meal) the steamers and a cup of red chowder. The red chowder was delicious and had tons of clam pieces I did appreciate this. When I got my steamers I was confused to see little white pieces of maybe garlic and something else? But I didn't see this on the menu or I wouldn't had got that. I'm not sure what it was but it made the steamers okay, which I'm sure without it would've been really good. My mentor had a meeting directly after so I didn't have time to have them fix the issue, so I just stuck it out. I ate maybe half of the steamers and brought the other home, I didn't want to be rude to my mentor, but I wish this was on the menu as something they do, because I like my steamers without anything on them. My first time at the Crows Nest. The queer o meter is a solid 10. And we thank you! First off parking is awful, it was a Friday in early spring, I can't imagine it in the summer, so be prepared. We had a reservation and were seated promptly at a booth, by the beautiful aquarium. Our waitress was accommodating and so nice, I didn't catch her name otherwise I'd give a shout out. Food: I got the oysters then steamers. The oysters were $3 each, inline with most places and were fresh and delicious. I like them medium brine and medium cup. They were! My only con: whoever opened them didn't lift the oyster (separate it from the shell) on any of them. It made for a messy first one. Steamers: the menu didn't specify they are steamed in garlic and maybe seasoning. I ended up asking if they could redo without - I like em as the gods intended. They were more than gracious and gave me a new order. OMG THEY WERE SO GOOD! It's a generous 1.5lb portion with clarified butter and steamed to perfection. Everyone let me try theirs and of the other 3 meals, the baked bay scallops were hands down a little piece of heaven and a generous portion. Scrod was a solid fine and the chicken had a sausage stuffing, which is never my ideal. I personally don't like meat in my stuffing - so I can't review that without being biased. My wife said it was okay but the broccoli au gratin was "amazing" everyone loved that. Nothing like cheese on veggies! Oh! One of us got clam chowder and I tried it. Nice flavour; a hit of pepper along with the clam flavor and chunks of potato. Along with dinner were warmed rolls - which we ordered another round of. Yeah. So good. All in all it was a nice evening out, we didn't feel rushed, great service and the food was very good overall. A few off marks but not nearly anything that would put me off to coming back. It was my first time trying Crows Nest and has been on my hit list for months now, I am happy I finally got a chance to try it. The restaurant was wide open and quiet but the hostess sat us in the worst seat of the house so I asked to move. The waitress was so sweet and very accommodating and moved our seats into a booth with no hesitation. She turned the experience right around and was attentive, friendly, and quick. The restaurant is located by the water in Warwick. It has a modern nautical atmosphere. The restaurant is super clean! One of my favorite things is the thoughtful decor. It gave Rhody vibes with a beautiful fish tank, octopus wallpaper, and a seashell chandelier. I do wish that the food matched the atmosphere. For the price on the menus, I was disappointed that they have frozen broccoli vs. fresh broccoli. I got a wide variety of food to try: the stuffies, chowder & clam cakes, stuffed shrimp, Caesar salad, and boneless fried chicken. My favorite thing was the stuffies. read more

This restaurant is right next to a marina and has a great view of the water. The decor is nice and coastal. The hostess and server were great! Now onto the star of the show, the food and drinks! We heard the Crows nest had a new owner so we tried it again. They did a great job making it super coastal looking inside & a great outside covered bar area & dining . We had nachos first they were great then we all had something different. The small plate portion scrod was just the right side. The server was fantastic totally in the weeds with serving most of the patio but she was so sweet & funny the rest didn't matter then the staff were all hands on deck they got so busy . We usually go here maybe once or twice a year. Food is good and it's really nice in the summer when you can sit on the deck. I like to get steamers whenever we go since I don't have the opportunity to get them too often. Price for what you get is a bit steep and have to say the last batch was pretty disappointing as there were a lot of broken shells in the mix. Great find! We didn't have reservations so we had a cocktail at the bar before we were seated . Very friendly bartender. We had espresso martinis, my husband ordered a Negroni. Drinks were excellent. We were seated about 15 min later on the outside deck. It was a crisp beautiful night and temperature was good. Service was great ambience was great, overlooking the harbor. I ordered the broiled scrod with broccoli gratin and rice pilaf. It was excellent! My husband had the fried chicken and said it was excellent. Great job on the inside of the restaurant and very friendly service. Awesome options on the menu ranging from many seafood dishes to pasta dishes and even sandwiches. Whether you are a seafood eater or not cries nest will have something that catches your attention on their menu. I went with the boneless fried chicken and really enjoyed it. My GF had the baked stuff shrimp. We also split a Caesar salad, a Portuguese stuffy, and clam cakes & chowder. Aside from the boneless chicken and the stuffy, we would opt for something else next time on the menu since they have some other great options to choose from. The fries were alright- nothing to note but the garlic knots were so oily and greasy - it made me feel so icky eating them. The shrimp didn't come with any sauce so the flavor was just alright. Service - 4/5 : Our server was nice and the food came out pretty fast. I liked the vibe/ambiance of the place and it was clean. Value: 3/5 - My total came to around $28 with tip and I just don't think the value is there for the taste, quality, and quantity of the food. I honestly think the food taste is something that could be made from frozen food and the garlic knots were just so greasy I don't understand the hype (?) of this place. My last visit I decided to try their coleslaw and baked potato. My friends ordered fried scallops, salmon and fish & chips with no complaints. Another amazing experience at the Crows Nest! We came here last week to celebrate my in-laws's birthdays. My husband made the reservations ahead of time. When we arrived, the table was thoughtfully decorated with a sign and little gold stars scattered across it. The food was tasty, and we indulged in three different desserts that did not disappoint. This place is one of our favorite summertime spots since it is close to our marina, but has proven to consistently be on point in the off season as well. P.S. I had such high hopes initially when the restaurant went under new ownership. But, after last night and the last few times I've gone, I don't plan on ever returning! There were 5 of us and the service was fine, but, oh, the food was just awful! Much of it was barely lukewarm, notably my dinner of baked stuffed shrimp & rice pilaf and also the stuffed mushrooms which were hard-not cooked enough! The shrimp just did not taste fresh, like the scallops I had last time, which I couldn't even eat. The basket of rolls were cold and hard, and the clam cakes were WAY overdone! What a waste of money!
