I celebrated my birthday here just last week. 7/5 We started with the calamari, which was amazing and had fish tacos as the entrée . The service was great. The staff surprised me by singing happy birthday, that was so cute We had a table by the window, which overlooks the water. you have a choice of also sitting outside if you prefer

So good. Visiting the state for the first time and found this gem on Yelp. Staff was kind Ambiance was awesome and views overlook a nice lake. Food - delicious. Lobster roll - 9 out of 10. The bun was delicious and they gave a hefty amount of lobster. Seasoned to perfection Clam cakes- 4 out of 10. Tasted more like a fish fritter with a lot of dough and filling. Baked stuff lobster - 9 out of 10. Would recommend and would have again. Seafood with a red pasta - 9.6 out of 10. My favorite. (I don't remember the name of this dish). Overall delicious and they gave huge portions. Will definitely come back here again.

This is a gem in the area. A classic New England seafood place right by the harbor for the perfect ambience. Charlene was a friendly and perfect server. The calamari was tender and had great flavor. Our main entrees were delicious as well. The fish sandwich was a huge thick piece of cod that was moist and full of flavor. The baked scallops were a classic with rice pilaf and broccoli. We are planning to move up here in a few years and this will definitely be one of our regular seafood spots!

I'd have never known this place was here!! It's set back along the water and not on a main road. I met a friend for lunch and immediately liked the atmosphere inside. Service was excellent. We each got appetizers and entrees. I thought the clam chowder was pretty good. The clam cakes were a bit chewy but I've never had them before so maybe that's typical. The calamari was tasty. My scallop entree was ok, nothing memorable. I prefer larger diver scallops to the small type used in this dish. I didn't like the mashed squash I chose as my side. The server did say she'd bring something else but I had more than enough food already. My friend really enjoyed the fish tacos. I thought the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes. I would come back here and would like to try the fish and chips next time.

Had a pretty pleasant experience at the Crows Nest. Our work group bombarded them on a Sunday evening with two giant tables, but our server handled that like a pro and was very attentive to our needs and splitting checks etc. the room we were in was nice and had a fun fish tank backdrop. I'm not from RI, so of course I had to order all the foods I can't get in NE. Went with the baked stuffed lobster, it was a great amount of food, and I enjoyed it but after seeing the traditional butter variation had some regret of not going with the classic version. I also enjoyed the creamy NE clam chowder soup. The server talked up most of their sides and could not really give a concrete recommendation for one, so I went with the mashed potatoes, and will say that was the only underwhelming part of the meal, as their was nothing special about them, but I had enough lobster to not worry about eating them. Also enjoyed a classic old fashioned for my drink. Pricing at the time for the lobster was around $55, seemed pretty reasonable for the amount of lobster given.

Perfect day to sit outside and eat fish tacos! They were lightly breaded and came with corn salsa and a small sprinkling of homemade coleslaw. My husband enjoyed his eggplant sub which came with fries. Olivia was a sweet waitress and her suggestions help steer us to good choices .

Loved it ! Food was excellent and the service was even better. We went with our little one and the waitress was so good to our baby!

Atmosphere was beautiful, they also have an outdoor patio which is perfect for summer dining! The parking lot was almost full when we arrived and there really wasn't on-street parking available either, luckily one spot opened up for me. Our waitress was polite and attentive, and the food came out in a reasonable time. Food was delicious and they give you warm bread, which I'm a huge fan of! Noise level was a little loud but it was very busy too. I would definitely go back again.

Rating: 3.5 Came to try the place for dinner. It was pretty busy but we were able to be sat down relatively quickly as it's a large establishment. The place has its own parkings available. Inside is pretty typical of seafood restaurant around the area but with larger scale and do offer outside seatings as well. We ordered raw seafood sampler to start and i got lobster mac and cheese. Started with some bread and butter. Simple but solid. Seafood sampler was okay. Came with 6 oysters, shrimp and cherrystones. Oyster was probably the best and the horseradish sauce was also pretty good. Cherry stones were small and didn't have a-lot of meat and shrimp tasted and felt like frozen. Lobster mac and cheese was pretty tasty. Lots of cheese and al dente macaroni and good mount of lobster meat. Only thing is that there was a piece of lobster shell mixed in. My partner got the fish and chips and substituted coleslaw for steamed broccoli but they forgot the broccoli. We asked the waitress and they brought the broccoli quickly. Service was decent but they did forget the broccoli side. Overall the place was ok. Nothing really stood out and the price was on the higher end but without a good reason. Lobster shell piece in a lobster mac and cheese and missing broccoli side instead of coleslaw didn't help. Probably would not come back

Do they offer gluten free options?

I believe they do. Check on line at crowsnestri.com or call them at (401) 732-6575

    Is this restaurant expensive?

No, it's pretty reasonable. The lobster roll, for example, is going to be based on market price, but everything else seemed pretty standard.

I got the Big Ol' Burger and it was so good. Cooked perfectly, the special sauce was delicious and as you can probably tell from the photo, the fries were exactly what I was looking for. Everything tastes really fresh here. It has that farm-to-table quality, but in a relaxed, laid-back (but still really pretty) setting. We came for lunch and I loved that they had brunch options too. We didn't get any adult beverages but I was very tempted by the entire drink menu, so next time! Our service was also outstanding. Really everything was A+. She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

Rating: 4.0 Came to…read moretry the place for easter brunch. It's an American restaurant and bars in East Greenwich. They do have parking available which is nice since there area mostly only have street parking. Inside is pretty large and they have lots of tables and counter. It was not too busy so we were sat down right away. They did have some easter specials but i ended up getting Fried chicken sandwich and deviled eggs. Deviled egg came out quickly. It was ok looked kind of sad as seen on the picture. Rest of the food took a while for it to come out which was weird because it wasn't that busy. Maybe short staffed. Finally the food arrived. Fried chicken sandwich was honestly not that great. Looked like it was fried too long, darkened. The cut did not have a lot of meat and it was very dry. The sauce and brioche bun helped it to balance it a bit. Fries were good. Overall the food was ok at best. We decided to try their dessert. We got the easter special egg cheese cake and carrot cake. The desert was excellent. Egg cheese cake had egg and nest looking chocolate frosting which made it look in theme for easter. It had nice creamy cheese flavor with chocolate frosting and good crust at the bottom. Carrot cake was moist and delicious. Service was ok. We had a new server that seemed like was not fully trained yet with knowledge about their menu. Wait was long for the main meal. I can see that she was trying though. Overall the place was ok. Food quality seemed to be inconsistent with the menus. If anything i would come back for the desert if they have the cheese cake around again.

Meant to post this months back about my New Years Eve at Union & Main…read more I come to U&M bc it usually has bar seats available as it's one of the second tier places on mainstreet. Which isn't that bad of a thing - The drinks are 1/2 way decent, it's quiet and you can always find a seat. Their NYE strategy was puzzling. While other restaurants have specials, fun events and a vibrant atmosphere.. this place seemed to just exist. They called last call (to a FULL bar) at 10:15pm.. Maybe they closed early so they could go somewhere else and the bartender seemed bothered by people being there. I left a decent tip and moved on with my night.. I would say that this place is "perfectly ok"
