I used Bettola to cater a party. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. I would highly recommend their catering.

We were anticipating a 45 min wait for a table but so happy someone canceled and we got a seat. The place isn't that big and the bar was packed. Service was fast once we were seated. We had fried mozzarella and meatballs for apps. We got the Fra Diavolo and Bolognese pasta. Everything was delicious! I never had fried mozzarella flat but can't stop thinking of it. It had the perfect crisp! The fra diavolo is spicy but the perfect amount for me. I was eyeing the pizzas at the tables next to us. They looked so good. I'll try it next time but I really love the fra diavolo so it's going to be a tough choice. Perhaps pizza for apps but also the fried mozzarella. Oh boy... so hard to choose!! You won't be disappointed here! read more

I ordered a pepperoni pizza here for takeout and overall really enjoyed it. The pizza itself was really good and I would definitely order it again. The pizza was only $20, which I thought was a pretty reasonable price. They only offer one size, which I'd say is around a large, although maybe just a little smaller than a typical large. It wasn't a huge difference, but I do wish they offered a smaller size as an option. I was going to add honey to the pizza, but it was an additional $4, which I thought was a little much for just a drizzle of honey, so I skipped it. I also noticed they don't open until 4:30, at least yesterday, so I wish they opened a little earlier. I completely understand that they're more of a dinner spot, though. Overall, it's a great spot with really good pizza and a reasonable price. I'd definitely come back! read more

I concur with the averaged out consensus of 4.3. They are doing it right at this little corner spot in Cranston! At first I was planning on hitting Pizza Mamma, but they're hyped bc of RHoRI. At any rate, I'm thrilled I chose Bettola. At the entry is a massive sign that exclaims, 'Best Pizza in RI'. They may not be IMO, but they're up there! The dough is fresh and the pizza is made fresh. The ingredients are above par for sure. The staff are nothing out of the ordinary, neither disgruntled nor overly excited. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend. Mangiamo! read more

Another spectacular dinner and adult beverage at Bettola. Kudos to you chef/kitchen staff and bartender. I had a chop salad, it was huge!! Lots of bacon bits, pickled onion, egg, and veggies. Loved it! The shortbread old fashioned intrigued me. So glad I ordered it!! Sweet, lovely bourbon heat and the shortbread rim was sensational. Loved it!! Could have had another. read more

Bettola never disappoints. I first came here after a yelp experience and recently went with a large group of family members (15 ppl) - they accommodated us seamlessly. All the pizzas were delicious and I loved my sandwich. I got the Sophia ($13) the eggplant was so juicy and paired with vodka sauce is a killer combo. The drinks were well made and every item here is very well priced. We could've paid so much more at other places and not be as satisfied. The staff members were friendly and atmosphere was fun & lively. read more

Bettola is a Neapolitan-style pizzeria and restaurant that opened in Cranston, Rhode Island in December 2018. It was founded by the Night Owl Restaurant Group, led by president Alexander Guarino. Born in Italy, Guarino was raised in Rhode Island and has had a long-term relationship with delicious Italian food. His family opened the restaurant Basta in Cranston in 1989. Around 2010, managers Anthony and Joanne Micheletti stepped down after 15+ years, and the younger Guarino took over Basta himself. He completely rebranded and renovated the space. After many years of success, his team decided to open a new venture in Cranston's Auburn/Rolfe Square section. Bettola (roughly translated as "tavern" in Italian) has a menu that features Neapolitan-style pizzas, Italian entrees, pasta dishes, salads, sandwiches, various appetizers, and craft cocktails. The team behind Bettola includes executive chef Steve Boyd, director of operations Justin Braun, and manager Ashley Burba. My family and I recently had dinner at Bettola while we were in the Greater Providence area for the evening. We really loved the interior with its nice design motif. To drink, my wife and I shared the "Cursed Cauldron for 2" (Smirnoff Kissed Caramel vodka, brandy, apple cider, caramel syrup, orange juice, ginger ale, gummy worms). It was a delicious cocktail that was perfect for the Halloween season. For food, we couldn't decide on one dish so we decided to order a bunch of dishes for the whole table to share. For pasta, we shared the "Pink Vodka" (pink vodka sauce, grated Romano, rigatoni) and the "Intrepid Outlier" (rigatoni, sweet Italian sausage, butternut squash, sundried tomatoes, garlic, sage, light cream sauce, shaved pecorino, EVOO). For pizza, we shared the "Margherita" (fresh mozzarella, grana, basil, garlic, EVOO) and the "Fig N' A" (arugula, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, fresh & shredded mozzarella, figs, gorgonzola, garlic, oil, balsamic glaze). Everything was delicious! Each dish was a modern take on classic Neapolitan-inspired staples. We would love to return the next time we are in the area! read more

My sister and I had two fabulous pizzas from Bettola last week. I was bad about taking pics. Only took a shot of one slice. Mine was with red sauce, fresh mozzarella, onions, roasted peppers, broccoli, and sausage. The sausage had a perfect amount of fennel in it and the crust was flavorful and puffy around the edge the way I love it. My sis loved hers as well. Only thing I would change is asking to have the next one cooked to well done so the center of the dough was a bit more baked! Personal preference only, didn't detract from how wonderful the pizza was. My only wish is that they made a small! read more

They don't take reservations. Tried the Abe Froman pasta and it tasted like orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage had a baby with pasta fagioli. It was delicious. We weren't offered bread but saw another table eating bread and asked for it. The bread was fantastic. Definitely ask for bread. I haven't tried the pizza yet but I definitely plan to try it next time! read more

Another delicious meal at Bettola. We did have to wait approximately an hour to get seated. The broccoli appetizer and Cesar salad were great. We also got the meatball appetizer which was good but lacked a little flavor. The gnocchi special was tasty and light. The chicken Parmesan did not disappoint but my family orders it with the pink sauce instead of the traditional red sauce. Prices are reasonable. On-street parking. read more

Evie was the bartender and she was incredible running the bar for the whole place with such ease & still so attentive to serving the whole bar too! I am typically not one to complain, but this was truly terrible food. I'm going to let the pics speak for themselves. We ordered take out on a Friday evening and what we received was garbage. The pasta with bolognese was so dry and the sauce tasted funky like it was old meat. Even worse was the veal and eggplant. It was overcooked in dirty old fryer oil. The smell was awful and the food was like leather. We called to let the manager know and the reaction we got from the woman who answered the phone was rude and defensive. I would not have wrote this review if she had responded in a professional way. I would stay away from this place. read more

I've been to Bettola twice before for Yelp experiences and always had a great time. For a potluck at my friend's place, I decided to bring over 2 pizzas and a salad. I used the online ordering system through the website and put in an order for pickup between 5:10 PM - 5:20 PM on a Saturday. I ordered a Margherita Pizza for $17.60, The Princess Pizza for $20.90, and Steve Jobs salad for $15.40. I noticed that the prices are more than on the restaurant's menu. It is common for online pickup orders, especially through third-party apps like DoorDash, to have higher prices than ordering directly from the restaurant's menu. I received text messages updating me to confirm my order, to track my order, and when the order was ready for pickup. I arrived at 5:00pm and found street parking right in front. I walked in and saw a sign that said to go to the other end of the counter for pickup. I told them my name and my order was already ready. My friends and I really enjoyed the food. The Steve Jobs salad had mesclun greens, honeycrisp apple, dried cranberries, walnuts, goat cheese, and marinated onions with apple cider vinaigrette. This was a delicious salad and very refreshing. The Margherita Pizza had fresh mozzarella, grana, basil, garlic, and EVOO. The Princess Pizza had pieces of crispy chicken, marinara, shredded mozzarella, basil, and grated romano. Both the pizzas are thin and made in a pizza oven. The toppings are fresh and the whole pizza is delectable. read more

Bettola really seems like they've gotten more consistent and that's great. We had pasta a couple times, once was great and the other was unfortunately horrendous which swore us off it for a while. We've gotten pizza 4 times in the last couple months, different stuff every time and all have been delicious. Never dined in but the vibe in there is cool. Love a good chewy dough. Not the cheapest pizza in town but worth it! read more

Just my favorite pizza place around! Ordered the gold digger pizza which had my least favorite ingredient, mustard, but this pizza was really good! The mustard was bad, it was fresh, hot, and savory. The bang broccoli is my favorite appetizer. I always don't fail in ordering this crispy, crunchy, fresh green~ makes my meal feel healthy ~ Wednesday mid week dinner treat was the place to be~ clean, warm, there wasn't a crowd, or a wait time, and the staff were patient and chill today. Had a mock-tail called how about them apples. Sweet and delicious. Took my parents back for dinner and had the amazing pizza. Dying to go back and try everything else. Bartenders and servers were all pleasant and timely. The bathroom was clean and had funny pics on the walls (pics posted) There's a small lot in the back to park but out front is free street parking. They do have some sort of mug club but I'm not sure about the details. Lots of beers on tap as well. Great date night spot. read more

Rating 4.3 Came back to try Bettola again but with a review this time. Bettola is a popular Italian restaurant located in the corner of Cranston. You enter through small side door and inside is moderate size with some seatings. They also have some decor and have fun paper table cloth with funny ads. Usually, the place is busy and there are waits but today was not bas because it was Wednesday night. We were quickly sat down. I've tried few things here but decided to try some things new. We ordered bangin broccoli, gold digger pizza, and truffle maker pasta. Bangin broccoli is my partner's favorite. It's like spicy garlic soy chicken but is broccoli. Tasted good and feels less guilty. Gold digger pizza was pretty good. Sweetness of BBQ sauce mixed with slight mustard flavor paired with chicken, bacon, peppers and onions. Nice chewy dough works great with twist on BBQ chicken pizza. The truffle maker was also pretty good. Looked and tasted similar to mac and cheese but with truffle flavors. Pastas were perfectly cooked and not too soft. Service was pretty good for the most part. Wet napkin would have been nice to have after eating as pizza gets messy which i noticed were available on the way out. Overall, the place is pretty solid as Italian restaurant with good service and food. Would come back to try other dishes on the menu when it's not too busy. read more

Great food! Never had a bad meal here after going there several times! Would highly recommend.

So always the pizza is so good. I had the fig n a pizza and my husband had the gold digger. Always good and the staff is very friendly.

Bettola is a VIBE!!!! The staff are always friendly and fun! I think I pretty much ordered 90% of the menu and NOTHING has disappoint. My ULTIMATE favorite is the Short Ribs and Risotto. The meat is sooooo juicy, tender and flavorful! Next would be obviously their pizza and their salad! (please note: their salads is topped to the BRIM! And if good enough to share with 2-3 people) Depending on the day in the mood would determine which pizza I get my top 3 are/ Gold digger, the San Genaro, and the Marilyn Monroe/Fign' a (I can't decide LOL) don't let the commotion of Rolfe square Seder you from visiting, there is plenty of parking in the back, the restaurant is such a vibe with the decor (learn some Italian LOL) and hilarious placemats. And lastly, what I think is so cool and unique about this place is their Themed Weekend specials! They always have fun drinks and witty names for the items. Oh and don't forget to swing by the dessert case on your way out- they have LEMON TIRAMISU!!!! You heard right! LEMON TIRAMISU!! read more

In Cranston, where their pizza can trade punches with Providence like a heavyweight brawl, Bettola doesn't just throw its hat into the ring--it sticks its chin out and dares you to throw your best shot. Under industrial dome lights, with Marilyn Monroe watching from the wall and a 90s alt-rock soundtrack cutting through the air, the vibe is deliberate and confident. It's the kind of place that knows exactly what it's doing--and doesn't need to tell you that you're going to like it. Then the bread hits the table. It's not just bread; it's a declaration of intent. Fresh from the oven, it's hot, airy, almost shocking in a way that tells you someone in the kitchen understands fermentation like a jazz musician understands rhythm. It's a detail most places would ignore, but here? That bread lets you know what you're in for: precision, care, and a refusal to settle for "good enough." And then the pizza arrives. It's the kind of moment that makes you sit up, because this isn't just food--it's art. Think of a Ferrari idling outside a café in Milan, sleek and purposeful, every detail designed to turn heads. That's what Bettola's pizza looks like. Gorgeous. Effortless. Confident without trying too hard. The crust? It's not just a base--it's the star of the show. Most places treat crust like a conveyance, just there to deliver sauce and toppings to your mouth. Not here. Here, the crust is everything. Light, airy, and perfectly chewy, it's the kind of crust that makes you reach for the ends--not to finish what's left, but to savor it. No butter. No sauce. Just dough, pure and perfect, pulling you into its orbit. The sauce follows, bold and brassy. It's not sweet, not overly acidic--none of those shortcuts that plague lesser pies. It's tomato as it's meant to be: fresh, deep, and slightly salty, with just enough heat to keep you coming back for more. And the pepperoni? Generous. Well-distributed. Crisped at the edges like it's fresh from some wood-fired fever dream. The cheese ties it all together, playing its part without stealing the spotlight. Every element feels deliberate, purposeful, and executed with the kind of precision that demands respect. When it all comes together, it's not just pizza--it's harmony. Every bite is a reminder of what happens when someone refuses to compromise, when every detail matters. The crust, the sauce, the toppings--they don't just work together; they sing. For my.money, when Bettola is on its game, it proves that Cranston's pizza scene can go slice-for-slice with anyone in the state. This isn't just pizza; it's craft. A manifesto for why good enough will never be good enough. In a state where pizza is a religion, Bettola doesn't just rise to the challenge--it rewrites the commandments. read more

What a great place ! We have eaten here probably about six times and each time always have an excellent experience. There is a parking lot out back and you can park on the street if it's full. It's not a huge place so you may have to wait for a bit. But it's worth it. We usually get pizzas and they are always well Cooked with generous toppings. The staff are helpful and friendly and make sure your glass is never empty. They have a decent sized menu so there is something for everyone. The pizza here is always phenomenal. Hands down, on of my faves in RI. Service is always friendly and attentive. Only downside is sodas are smallish and refills are not free. Expect to pay about $3 for a soda. My husband gets a bottle of Schweppes for $4, probably the better option. The desserts are pretty tasty here. They offer nut free and gluten free. My favorite pizza is probably the gold digger or the pepperoni, both solid 8/10. Don't sleep on the wings. They're big and crispy . I always enjoy the garlic Parmesan or buffalo. They have a house made Gorgonzola herb sauce on the side that is stellar. It's pretty busy on the weekends so expect to wait 10-30 minutes. read more

So the braised short ribs is one of my all time favorite meals. 10/10 would recommend. But I went for lunch the other day and didn't want to order something I'd consider more for dinner. Sooooo I went with the short rib sandwich on the seasoned focaccia. The seasoned focaccia is oiled on top and had some seasonings sprinkled on it - to be honest I saw it and regretted it. I didn't want oily hands. It wasn't until I was halfway done eating it that I realized not once did I think to myself while eating "damn this is oily and messy" don't know how... but it didn't make me feel greasy. And it tasted great. I couldn't eat all the bread - but I made sure to leave no short rib behind and ate all the sandwich insides. I don't think I knew there was a short rib sandwich before - now I'm glad I do. We sat at the bar and the girl working kinda got slammed as the restaurant picked up - she was on top of things and she did apologize for any delay (it didn't seem like any delay, we were happily chatting). It was a Friday for lunch and she said it normally didn't get that busy but she probably had 7 tables and then four people at the bar - all solo. She crushed it. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Always a plus. read more

It was our first time to this restaurant conveniently located near the theater. We arrived at five pm and found the place teeming with people eating or waiting for a table. We managed to snag a table outside on the sidewalk. Less noisy than the interior. Most people were chomping down on pizzas, which looked good. We will get one the next time. We wanted a quick meal and I ordered truffle fries well done and an appetizer Arancini - both very tasty. My wife had the delicious Gnocchi Malocchi -a rich dish we could not eat it all and took food home to eat the next day. We added sparkling water to drink - next time something stronger! The order appeared quickly: a nice surprise given the very busy restaurant. Even though we were sitting outside our server, Madison, was attentive, cheerful and efficient. The check came to a reasonable $54 to which we added a good tip. The restaurant was worth the price and food, giving it four stars, which it deserves.
