Bettola is a VIBE!!!! The staff are always friendly and fun! I think I pretty much ordered 90% of the menu and NOTHING has disappoint. My ULTIMATE favorite is the Short Ribs and Risotto. The meat is sooooo juicy, tender and flavorful! Next would be obviously their pizza and their salad! (please note: their salads is topped to the BRIM! And if good enough to share with 2-3 people) Depending on the day in the mood would determine which pizza I get my top 3 are/ Gold digger, the San Genaro, and the Marilyn Monroe/Fign' a (I can't decide LOL) don't let the commotion of Rolfe square Seder you from visiting, there is plenty of parking in the back, the restaurant is such a vibe with the decor (learn some Italian LOL) and hilarious placemats. And lastly, what I think is so cool and unique about this place is their Themed Weekend specials! They always have fun drinks and witty names for the items. Bettola is a Neapolitan-style pizzeria and restaurant that opened in Cranston, Rhode Island in December 2018. It was founded by the Night Owl Restaurant Group, led by president Alexander Guarino. Born in Italy, Guarino was raised in Rhode Island and has had a long-term relationship with delicious Italian food. His family opened the restaurant Basta in Cranston in 1989. To drink, my wife and I shared the "Cursed Cauldron for 2" (Smirnoff Kissed Caramel vodka, brandy, apple cider, caramel syrup, orange juice, ginger ale, gummy worms). It was a delicious cocktail that was perfect for the Halloween season. For food, we couldn't decide on one dish so we decided to order a bunch of dishes for the whole table to share. For pasta, we shared the "Pink Vodka" (pink vodka sauce, grated Romano, rigatoni) and the "Intrepid Outlier" (rigatoni, sweet Italian sausage, butternut squash, sundried tomatoes, garlic, sage, light cream sauce, shaved pecorino, EVOO). For pizza, we shared the "Margherita" (fresh mozzarella, grana, basil, garlic, EVOO) and the "Fig N' A" (arugula, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, fresh & shredded mozzarella, figs, gorgonzola, garlic, oil, balsamic glaze). I concur with the averaged out consensus of 4.3. They are doing it right at this little corner spot in Cranston! At first I was planning on hitting Pizza Mamma, but they're hyped bc of RHoRI. At any rate, I'm thrilled I chose Bettola. At the entry is a massive sign that exclaims, 'Best Pizza in RI'. They may not be IMO, but they're up there! The dough is fresh and the pizza is made fresh. Bettola never disappoints. I first came here after a yelp experience and recently went with a large group of family members (15 ppl) - they accommodated us seamlessly. All the pizzas were delicious and I loved my sandwich. I got the Sophia ($13) the eggplant was so juicy and paired with vodka sauce is a killer combo. The drinks were well made and every item here is very well priced. We could've paid so much more at other places and not be as satisfied. I am typically not one to complain, but this was truly terrible food. I'm going to let the pics speak for themselves. We ordered take out on a Friday evening and what we received was garbage. The pasta with bolognese was so dry and the sauce tasted funky like it was old meat. Even worse was the veal and eggplant. It was overcooked in dirty old fryer oil. The smell was awful and the food was like leather. We called to let the manager know and the reaction we got from the woman who answered the phone was rude and defensive. I've been to Bettola twice before for Yelp experiences and always had a great time. For a potluck at my friend's place, I decided to bring over 2 pizzas and a salad. I used the online ordering system through the website and put in an order for pickup between 5:10 PM - 5:20 PM on a Saturday. I ordered a Margherita Pizza for $17.60, The Princess Pizza for $20.90, and Steve Jobs salad for $15.40. I noticed that the prices are more than on the restaurant's menu. It is common for online pickup orders, especially through third-party apps like DoorDash, to have higher prices than ordering directly from the restaurant's menu. I received text messages updating me to confirm my order, to track my order, and when the order was ready for pickup. I arrived at 5:00pm and found street parking right in front. I walked in and saw a sign that said to go to the other end of the counter for pickup. I told them my name and my order was already ready. My friends and I really enjoyed the food. The Steve Jobs salad had mesclun greens, honeycrisp apple, dried cranberries, walnuts, goat cheese, and marinated onions with apple cider vinaigrette. This was a delicious salad and very refreshing. The Margherita Pizza had fresh mozzarella, grana, basil, garlic, and EVOO. The Princess Pizza had pieces of crispy chicken, marinara, shredded mozzarella, basil, and grated romano. Sat at the bar here one night and had the most delicious sandwich called the big short and a side of Brussels sprouts with bacon. Muah! Magnificent! I ate every last bite. Had a mock-tail called how about them apples. Sweet and delicious. Took my parents back for dinner and had the amazing pizza. Dying to go back and try everything else. Bartenders and servers were all pleasant and timely. The bathroom was clean and had funny pics on the walls (pics posted) There's a small lot in the back to park but out front is free street parking. My sister and I had two fabulous pizzas from Bettola last week. I was bad about taking pics. Only took a shot of one slice. Mine was with red sauce, fresh mozzarella, onions, roasted peppers, broccoli, and sausage. The sausage had a perfect amount of fennel in it and the crust was flavorful and puffy around the edge the way I love it. My sis loved hers as well. Only thing I would change is asking to have the next one cooked to well done so the center of the dough was a bit more baked! We ordered bangin broccoli, gold digger pizza, and truffle maker pasta. Bangin broccoli is my partner's favorite. It's like spicy garlic soy chicken but is broccoli. Tasted good and feels less guilty. Gold digger pizza was pretty good. Sweetness of BBQ sauce mixed with slight mustard flavor paired with chicken, bacon, peppers and onions. Nice chewy dough works great with twist on BBQ chicken pizza. The truffle maker was also pretty good. Looked and tasted similar to mac and cheese but with truffle flavors. Pastas were perfectly cooked and not too soft. Service was pretty good for the most part. Wet napkin would have been nice to have after eating as pizza gets messy which i noticed were available on the way out. What a great place ! We have eaten here probably about six times and each time always have an excellent experience. There is a parking lot out back and you can park on the street if it's full. It's not a huge place so you may have to wait for a bit. But it's worth it. We usually get pizzas and they are always well Cooked with generous toppings. The staff are helpful and friendly and make sure your glass is never empty. They have a decent sized menu so there is something for everyone. So the braised short ribs is one of my all time favorite meals. 10/10 would recommend. But I went for lunch the other day and didn't want to order something I'd consider more for dinner. Sooooo I went with the short rib sandwich on the seasoned focaccia. The seasoned focaccia is oiled on top and had some seasonings sprinkled on it - to be honest I saw it and regretted it. I didn't want oily hands. It wasn't until I was halfway done eating it that I realized not once did I think to myself while eating "damn this is oily and messy" don't know how... but it didn't make me feel greasy. And it tasted great. I couldn't eat all the bread - but I made sure to leave no short rib behind and ate all the sandwich insides. I don't think I knew there was a short rib sandwich before - now I'm glad I do. We sat at the bar and the girl working kinda got slammed as the restaurant picked up - she was on top of things and she did apologize for any delay (it didn't seem like any delay, we were happily chatting). It was a Friday for lunch and she said it normally didn't get that busy but she probably had 7 tables and then four people at the bar - all solo. She crushed it. Bathrooms are nice and clean. We managed to snag a table outside on the sidewalk. Less noisy than the interior. Most people were chomping down on pizzas, which looked good. We will get one the next time. We wanted a quick meal and I ordered truffle fries well done and an appetizer Arancini - both very tasty. My wife had the delicious Gnocchi Malocchi -a rich dish we could not eat it all and took food home to eat the next day. We added sparkling water to drink - next time something stronger! The order appeared quickly: a nice surprise given the very busy restaurant. Even though we were sitting outside our server, Madison, was attentive, cheerful and efficient. The check came to a reasonable $54 to which we added a good tip. The restaurant was worth the price and food, giving it four stars, which it deserves. Ordered a half pepperoni half meatball pizza. Not very complex. Went in and it wasn't ready. No problem I'll have a glass of wine at the bar while I wait. An hour goes by and I ask where is the pizza and they accuse me of being unreasonable. The front desk woman has no idea what to do. The manager comes up and she is incredibly difficult. I asked to have the pizza refunded and they did. But they would not give me the receipt until the police came is what they said. Awful awful awful service awful awful awful wait staff. This is small restaurant and has always been crowded. They do not take reservations so prepare to wait during busy times. It's worth the wait. I had the Bolognese and it did not disappoint. The pasta was cooked al dente which is the way it should be cooked. Having lived in Italy and experiencing the pasta there this brought back memories on how pasta is done. Bettola is a very enjoyable venue - clean and filled with great menu items. Service was wonderful. We have visited a number of times and decided to enjoy it once again for a very early dinner. We were comfortably seated at 4PM and were quite happy with the Fig and Prosciutto pizza - although in the past, it was topped with more arugula and larger pieces of prosciutto. My entree, Braised short rib was phenomenal and accompanied with a cheese risotto, broccoli rabe, and topped with a cherry demi glace. The other entree, Pasta BOLOGNESE was a traditional ragu of slow braised beef and veal, served with fresh rigatoni pasta, and shaved pecorino. It was very good but not as rich tasting as expected.
