Every Sunday, I take my parents to lunch. Not most Sundays. Every Sunday. This week, my mother sat it out. Her granddaughters flew in from all over the country to spend the day with her. So it was just my father and me at Fellini Pizzeria Pawtuxet Village Cranston, RI. The company was smaller. The pizza was not. Fellini's opened its Pawtuxet Village location in August 2014, bringing its famous Wickenden Street pizza to Broad Street along with a full dining room, bar and huge outdoor seating area. The first thing you notice inside is the pressed-tin ceiling, patterned in raised squares that catch the light differently depending on where you sit. Vintage parade photographs hang in black frames. Women wave from convertibles as people crowd both sides of Broad Street. A little green plant sits in a checkerboard pot near the front window. None of it feels decorated. It feels accumulated. What really makes the place, though, is the picture window that gets out of the way. The entire side of the dining room opens like a garage door onto the patio. No glass. Almost no separation. Yellow umbrellas shade the tables beneath a maple already starting to turn. String lights hang overhead. We sat inside while the breeze came straight through and joined us for lunch. The best of both worlds. It is the kind of feature newer restaurants spend a fortune trying to create. Fellini's simply opens the wall. We started with the garlic-knot meatball sliders. Three garlic knots split open and packed with sliced meatballs, marinara and provolone, then finished with olive oil and enough parmesan to turn the plate underneath them white. The knots were soft and pillowy, with enough chew to hold everything together. Meatball, melted provolone, red sauce, garlic and parmesan in every bite. Best pizza appetizer in Rhode Island. No hesitation. My father took one bite and did not say much. From him, that is a five-star review. Then they brought out the pizza. It was eighteen inches across and so big it would not fit on our table. They placed it on a stool beside us instead, where it sat at roughly the same height as my father and waited for the two of us to figure out what we had gotten ourselves into. The size was only the beginning. Fellini's calls it New York style, although the whole-wheat crust gives it a character of its own. It was thin, crisp underneath and chewy through the middle, with enough structure to support an almost absurd amount of toppings. And absurd is the right word. Pepperoni curled and darkened around the edges. Black olives covered nearly every available piece of real estate. Cheese surrounded all of it and browned across the top. Every slice carried more pepperoni and olives than some places put on half a pizza. This pie should have collapsed under its own ambition. It did not. The crust stayed crisp and held everything together from the outside edge toward the tip. Nothing about the pizza was restrained. Fellini's built an eighteen-inch pie, covered it with as much as it could reasonably carry, then went a little beyond responsible. That was the point. The balance still worked. The cheese did not bury the sauce. The pepperoni brought the salt and a little heat. The olives brought even more savory flavors. The thin crust kept the whole thing from becoming heavy, even when everything on top of it suggested otherwise. This is not a delicate pizza. It is a generous one. Especially for the price. The service was friendly and attentive throughout. No hovering. No waiting around trying to find someone. Just an easy lunch while the Red Sox played on the television in the corner and my father and I kept looking over at the pizza on the stool, trying to calculate whether the leftovers would fit in the refrigerator without removing a shelf. My mother got a day with her granddaughters. My father got out of the house. I got him to myself for a while. And Fellini's sent us home with enough pizza to make Sunday lunch last until at least Tuesday. read more

I like this location better than the one in Providence - mostly because it's bigger and has better ambience. There's a bar area with TV to watch the game or whatever, a cozy rustic indoor dining area, a quick eat-and-go area without servers where you can grab a slice and eat it and a really nice outdoor seating area with heaters. So many options! The pizzas have inventive toppings and a very NY-Style thin crust. You can also get whole wheat crust which I love. There are tons of veggie options too. Truly something for everyone! Only one word of caution - they tend to cook their pizzas pretty dark - so if you aren't into that be sure to let them know. One time we got a pizza that was totally black in the bottom. The server was gracious about it and they remade it for us. Their sangria is strong! And their salads are huge. Definitely don't forget an appetizer and drinks. read more

If you like thin crust pizza, Fellini's is your place. The Cranston location is really nice with a bar, a dining room, and a counter for slices. Sometimes there's live music and there's also an outdoor seating area. Today I went to Fellini's at lunchtime for take out slices. The selection of slices is always amazing with lots of creative options. Today's choices were Red/White & Green (pesto, tomato sauce, cheese), steak & scallion, Pepperoni (the small cupping pepperoni), margharita, and Pumpkin with bacon, cheese, chicken & honey. I opted for a slice of the pumpkin, which was absolutely amazing, and a slice of the red/white & green, which was delicious as well. The person cutting the slices was really pleasant and friendly, and she heated the slices for me. I also got a root beer which was sweetened with cane sugar, and it hit the spot. Story Time: My roommate Relena had her 20th birthday yesterday. I promised her we could go out for pizza and hang out on Sunday. When I suggested she pick her favorite style and I'll pick a place from there, she confessed she didn't know the difference between the styles. Always an educator, I asked her to describe her ideal pizza. She liked thin crust, not a lot of sauce and crispy crust. I figured she either liked New Haven or NY and after a few follow up questions, we decided NY was probably what she likes. For me, my go-to NY pizza place is Fellini. I love the Providence location for walk up slices, but because we were planning to sit down with a whole pie I took us to the Pawtuxet Village location instead. The freshly fallen snow turned everything into a beautiful winter wonderland and that was no different for the awning outside the restaurant. The inside was cozy and warm. We were greeted by our server and sat quickly. With Relena being the guest of honor, I had her pick the toppings. But because she picked pineapple and olives, we decided to make half of it pepperoni The pizza never takes long at Fellini's. It promptly arrived at our table and we wasted no time digging in. The toppings are always generous here, they really give you your bang for your buck. The pepperoni was extra greasy today but I didn't mind that so much. As always, Fellini's delivered. Crisp and chewy crust with great flavor. A balance of sauce and cheese. Even with overloaded toppings, it never seems like too much. I even dared to try the pineapple olive slice and was pleasantly surprised not only by the taste but by the bake of the crust. Normally with a moist topping like pineapple the crust is damp and sometimes soggy. But not here. Still crisp with every bite. It wasn't long before 3 of us inhaled the pizza and it was time for the check. I noticed that Fellini's only charges you half the topping price when it's only on half the pizza. While I'm sure most of you are thinking "duh" I have found most places charge you full topping price per topping even if it's only on half. Just another reason why I love this spot so much. While Fellini's has been a staple in RI for some time, a lot of people think it hasn't been the same since the original owner sold. Let me tell you, I used to work for the old man and later worked for his son. I have eaten at Fellini's for almost 20 years now and that pizza hits every time. If you haven't been to the Cranston location, I highly recommend it as a great date night or family meal spot. Oh, and it got a 10/10 from the roommate! read more

How is this place less than 4 stars?! Anyways... this is one of the best pizza spots in Rhode Island. Perfect ratio of cheese and sauce, and the crust is on the thinner size. They have a nice outdoor area in addition to their indoor seating. Looks to be some evenings where there's live music in the area too. I'm not sure why it's a trend to work such short hours, but it is very off putting as a customer that they have such bad hours. Monday, closed. Tuesday, open for 5 whole hours? This is one of our favorite Pizza places in metro Providence. There are two locations, one on Wickenden St in Providence's Fox Point area and this one in Pawtuxet Village in Cranston. The quality is always consistent and I love the thin crisp crust. This last time we got a chicken pesto slice, not bad for the size you get and less than $5. I had never been to the Cranston location but we really loved our trip there. Same great pizza but this one is more of a sit down and relax restaurant which we really enjoyed. The place was cozy and sat us right away, though that night they ended up having a lot of big parties for the holidays I think so definitely watch what time you go because it can fill up! The chicken wing house style app was so good, crispy skin and cooked so well. I could have done without my whipped feta board, it was good but with the wings it was just too much to start with. They have so many unique pizza flavors and you need to just trust their process, fellinis knows what they're doing with their flavors. If not, you can build a pizza which we ended up doing because I really wanted meatball and red sauce. It was so good, my only issue is that the bacon wasn't cut up it was in long strips and it kind of felt like microwave bacon. It was hard to eat on a pizza because it didn't break apart and the whole strip came off. I would have preferred smaller well done pieces. But the meatballs were amazing and they offer slices which was great for my 3 year old who ended up loving the pizza so much I had to order a second cheese slice! I ordered 2 large cheese pizzas, as I had company. The crust was so hard that I couldn't even cut it with a pizza cutter. I ended up throwing away the entire second pizza. It's obvious that someone is over kneading their dough, it was barely chewable. This is my second visit, the first time, I was given the wrong pizza. I will not be back. The ratio of the tomato sauce to the cheese and toppings are perfect! We also love their meatball sandwich. Definitely get it with focaccia bread!! Fellini's is one of the only sit down pizzerias that still sells pizza by the slice. And what a great idea this is! They have a couple of specialty pizzas premade that you can order individual slices of for $3-4! The specialty pizzas rotate daily and the classics cheese and pepperoni are always available. This is a great way for people to all get the type of pizza they want but still enjoy a pizza experience with friends. I got two slices, one cheese and one tomato pesto. They both were very tasty. The pizza crust is quite thin so even though the slices seem large, you probably want to go for an extra slice. Overall the service was solid, we got off to an odd start as we were waiting for our last party member for about 20 minutes and didn't order until they arrived. We ordered a house salad to split which never ended up making it to our table. It did not show up on the bill and we ended up being ok without it. Fellini pizzeria has always been my favorite pizza place to go to when I visited Rhode Island, and I wanted to share it with my best friend that came down with me!! My friend and I had just started walking from tanning for three hours and we were in bathing suit tops and cute skirts. We got ice cream and decided we're gonna go have lunch there. We sat outside and we got a Caesar salad to share and two pepperoni pizzas! The food was absolutely delicious and we are definitely gonna go back there again this week! When we were waiting for the check, my friend went in to pay it because they were all just standing there, and when my friend came back to our table, she said that a lot of the servers were looking at her funny, laughedat her, and did not respond to her question to pay the check! We were just wearing bathing suit tops, and Lululemon tennis skirts. We were wearing nothing inappropriate. We came in as a party of six. We got two pizzas. Both were delicious. Both were perfectly cooked. The portions here run generous and the slices let you taste new flavors fast. We sat outside on the beautiful patio, which made the experience even better. Leah, our waitress, was attentive and awesome from start to finish. This pizzeria is considered "gourmet," so it's a bit too pricey for frequent visits. My wife and I stopped and ordered "the go ask Alice" which was buffalo mozzarella, tomato and Basel. It was excellent and cooked perfectly. The outdoor patio was very nice in a charming courtyard. The more I think about it, Fellini's is my favorite slice in the whole state. The restaurant is dimly lit, with a bustling atmosphere, and a bar serving quality craft cocktails. [Great Espresso Martini] This isn't a big place so my recommendation is sitting at the bar. You'll get great service and a friendly crowd to make new friends. Wed ordered a combo of their best pizza choices, the Steak and Scallion crossed with The Sweet Heaven. The Steak Scallion is the legendary menu item. It is a must order if you stop in here. We wanted change it up a bit so we half and halved with the SH. They have the best bacon on a pizza. Cooked perfectly. All of the FELLINIS pizzas are top notch! There's nothing better than that whole wheat crust, choices of sauces & toppings! In addition to the FABULOUS pizzas ... my family adores the buffalo chicken dip, eggplant stack, and Brussels sprout appetizers and then, there are those garlic knots that everyone enjoys tearing into! Good pizza. Loved the sauce. A touch on the pricey end, and there's only 1 size. I don't know if it's a relic from COVID, but the parking lot is all seating, so there's only street parking, which sucks. I only did a pickup, but it seemed dimly lit inside. Service was fast and friendly. Told me 20 minutes on the phone, I got there at 15 and the pizza was already sitting on the oven, which is both good and bad. So I thought I posted a review after our experience....i guess I didn't hit send....i have always wanted to try Fillini's Pizza. My sister was here from CA last summer so we went one nice summer night. The place was packed. We were seated pretty quickly. We ordered drinks. All was good until then. I ordered the Stuffed Mushroom Pizza. Everyone else placed their orders. A little while later....a person brought an order of stuffed mushrooms. I said I didn't order them. They took them back. Then I thought....maybe they got my order wrong? Where was our wait person? No where to be found. Everyone's food arrived. And the stuffed mushrooms again....the waitress finally came over and asked how everything was....i said I didn't ordered stuffed mushrooms....i ordered Stuffed Mushroom pizza....she said NO! You ordered Stuffed Mushrooms! She had an attitude and a half! She offered to put an order in for my pizza and it should be out soon....it must have been over 30 minutes, everyone was finished with their dinner. THEN my pizza arrived! The waitperson came over and said...Oh, I see you finally got your pizza! Seriously! And it wasn't even a good pizza! Never again! NEVER! read more

Fellini's is def one of my top spots for pizza. I love a place where I can get just slices to go. My most recent visit was on Thanksgiving eve for their famous Thanksgiving pizza. It was delicious as always. The staff here is great and they were very organized and were following all covid precautions. read more

When we went, the weather was a bit on the chillier side so we sat inside but they did offer outdoor seating with the heating towers. We were a party of 7 so we sat in the corner round table near the kitchen. Upon walking in you could see the slices for the day to help build up an appetite and prematurely explore options. For appetizers, we had the garlic knots and wings. Because we couldn't decide on what flavor wings to get, we got them plain with a few sauces on the side. For the entree, we finally agreed upon the white pizza and the meat lovers code blue (half of it without bacon). They did offer some very seasonal pizza options with pumpkin and apple which was cool. The garlic knot plating was great with the sauce in the center. I'm not too much of a red sauce person so I didn't try it but it looked good. The knots were soft, herby, and a bit cheesy. The wings were very good. Even plain, they come with caramelized onion which gives them so much flavor. The skin is thin and very soft and the chicken is tasty and moist. The pizza is awesome. The pizza is thin crust so you feel a lot less guilty about carb consumption. For the white pizza, my favorite part was the creamy ricotta cheese. The pizza wasn't too greasy and of course it was very cheesy. The meat lovers code blue was also very good. I would recommend keeping all the toppings it comes with. It is a bit heavy on meat but the combination is solid. The pizzas are also pretty big so you get your moneys worth. The staff is very kind and on top of all requests. There's a few small boutiques, coffee shops, and a park in the area so it's even nice to walk around after eating to burn off the calories. read more

Great tasting pizza (our favorite is the Kitchen Sink.). But today, we did take out and had 2 pies, one was severely burnt. the entire bottom was black. We love the burnt bits and burnt bubbles, this was different. We are a 30 min drive away, so returning it was not an option. I am not sure we will risk it again.
