Divine is a great little restaurant because of the food, service, and ambiance. It is affiliated with Fresco, but obviously a different chef. The drinks are always good and the bartenders are great, making it a great little spot for date night. I finally got to try the swordfish chop and it was able to live up to the hype. They only had one left for the night when I ordered it around 6:30. It was cooked perfectly, making it tender and moist and finished to perfection with a garlic, butter, herb sauce. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area, I found the prices to be better than dining at the other locations and the food is just as delicious. read more

To start, I live 2 hours from this location and have been here maybe a dozen times over the past 5 years. Where I'm going with that is we've had the same waitress almost every time and not only did she remember us, but also my wife's and daughter's food allergies. Being remembered makes me feel important and prioritized. A+ personal service. It's a small space but they make it work. It feels like a small but comfortable dining room that somehow maintains a level of intimacy. It's always clean and tastefully decorated. They also offer bar seating if you prefer. I've never had a meal that I didn't love. I frequent their sirloin and mashed potatoes with seasonal veggies and they always nail it with taste and rarely ever not get my steak cooked exactly as I want it. The Parmesan olive oil they serve with the table bread is pretty great. Great enough to warrant buying some directly from them. A minor gripe: In my humble opinion a smaller wine selection than I would personally like. I would also like to see more Italian wine selections, but I'm a bit of a vino country of origin snob. However, they have a local Rhode Island sourced red blend that is super tasty. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at times and you may be forced to park on some adjacent side streets at times as it is a small lot. Reservations recommended but not required. If you're ever in the Warwick area I can whole heartedly recommend dining at Divine and I'm confident you won't be disappointed. read more

Too bad the max rating is 5 stars. I haven't been here for a few years and went with friends. What amazing food and great service. Very generous drinks. I had the filet special with Carbone sauce. It came with a potato cake and sauteed spinach. This was an amazing meal. For desert the tiramisu shared with a friend. The total was $50. This meal should have cost twice that. I hate to use the word bargain when it is such a high quality restaurant. It is a small restaurant so I suggest reservations although they did a busy take out last night. You won't be disappointed. DiVine Italian Bistro is a small Italian restaurant in Warwick, RI. We had reservations, and were seated right on time. Anthony rocked the entire dining room of about 10 tables. There is also a large bar area with hi-top tables, which was also very busy. We started with calamari with marinara sauce. The calamari were tender, but they were super crunchy and tasted over done. The bread tonight tasted stale. Thank goodness for sauce and dipping oil! I had chicken piccata, which came, I wish I realized, with red mash potatoes and vegetables - tonight was 2 pieces of grilled yellow squash and a grilled piece of red pepper. The.chicken and potatoes were delicious; the veg just had no flavor. Personally, I wish I knew it came with the veg. I assumed it would be pasta, which I would have preferred. I would have substituted. My husband was a bit disappointed with his rigatoni bolognese. He says the sauce was very good, but the lack of meat was disappointing. He did clean his plate, but has had better Bolognese sauce at other establishments. I had a drink called the lava lamp. It was limoncello, with peach and strawberry puree. It was sweet, and tasty, but I could hardly taste the limoncello. We came here on this snowy, cold night because the last time we were here it was so delicious!! That was in the summer. We were disappointed tonight, but will not hold one night against DiVine! We'll come back, but in the summer; it was very cold in the restaurant tonight. Wildly underwhelmed. The food was Olive Garden-level. My chicken Milanese came with about a 2 pound heap of arugula. The calamari was bland and unseasoned, with a splatter of marinara that looked like it was flung on to the plate via catapult. The noise level made conversation impossible, but thankfully the place cleared out; ominous for a Friday night at 7pm. The only light in the room was a single overhead LED; great of you love that "semi finished basement" kind of vibe. No tea lights, no candles on the tables. Drab gray walls with little art or mood. Service was friendly and prompt, which was the only thing earning that second star. read more

I am disappointed that neither restaurant got back to me. Here is my original message..... I wanted to share what was our first bad experience regarding your restaurant. We love DiVine! Never had a bad meal! We decided to get take out this past Tuesday. I placed the order and had a friend pick it up. She didn't know what I ordered, so when she got here with our asked where my Chicken Pesto pizza was....I asked if she saw the receipt. She said no. I also asked for bread and dipping sauce. Didn't get that either. The Black and Blue Tuna is a favorite of ours. Not this time. It was cut very thick and was very over cooked. I went here for the first time a few weeks ago. I walked into the restaurant at 8:50 PM and I'm greeting at the door by the hostess, who promptly says we close at 9. I looked at my watch and said to her great, it's 8:50, but she refused to seat us. In any business, you will receive customers right up until closing time and should serve them. For instance, I went to Frank and John's in East Greenwich after being turned down at Divine, and arrived 20 minutes before they closed. We were seated and served dinner like one would expect. If you want to stop seating customer before you close, the close time should be moved back to 8:30. This will allow the kitchen to clean up and the doors to be locked by 9. I won't eat here ever, nor will I recommend it to anyone. Worst customer service ever. read more

Let me start off by welcoming you to my first ever yelp review. I do not normally take time out of my day to criticize restaurants, however, today I felt the need to. My significant other and I were looking for a local restaurant as we are new to the area and have been very appreciative of the abundance of options we have to choose from. Let me give you one piece of advice if you're looking to try something new... Do not waste your time here! I should note that the staff here is very kind, respectful and generous. But the food is absolutely disgusting. We started off with the bread or should I say burnt toast. The Parmesan and garlic dipping oil was tasty but the burnt toast to go with it was dissatisfying. Onto the fried rubber... I mean the balsamic calamari mixed with lettuce which seemed like it was pulled from a swamp. The lettuce was soggy and seemed like it had been soaking in water all day. The calamari did not even seem edible. It was absolutely disgusting. We concluded our worst dinner experience with the chicken milanese. The only words I have for this was absolutely horrible. Our dinner tasted like we bought one of those hungry man specials from the frozen food section at stop and shop. I don't know if these meals are actually premade and frozen, or someone in the kitchen has no idea what they are doing but this was the worst meal I have ever spent my hard earned money on. Let me start by saying I really wanted to like this restaurant. My family and I recently moved down the street. We were hoping this was going to be our "Italian Spot". We were sadly mistaken. The service was poor, but not the servers fault as she was the only one working. She literally had every table to cover, seat, bus, everything. We waited 20 minutes just for her to take our drink orders. At this point I wanted to leave, but Hubby wanted to give it a try. I relented. We finally get our drinks ordered. A bottle of red wine and 1 dirty Tito's Martini . The martini was all olive juice, no vermouth, and I didn't finish it. Food order: appetizer we ordered the calamari. This is an Italian restaurant staple. However, the kitchen poured some red sauce all over the dish causing the calamari to be soggy and rubbery. They also added some hot peppers that made it thoroughly unenjoyable. I also ordered a wedge salad which came out drenched in bleu cheese dressing. Entrée: Hubby ordered "Sunday Dinner" but it came out a red soupy mess. It looked more like jambalaya than pasta sauce. The meatball was undercooked and fell apart on the plate. The chicken was so chewy a knife could barely cut through it, and the sausage was not Italian sausage but something from s creole dish instead. Hubby sent dish back. I ordered shrimp Alfredo over linguine. The sauce was super bland. Had no flavor at all. I was only given 5 shrimp. I ate those and didn't take the rest home. My Mother In Law ordered chicken marsala. She said the gravy was like a brown gravy one would put on mashed potatoes and not a mushroom sauce for chicken marsala. While it was edible, it wasn't what she technically ordered. Overall, the best part of this meal was the wine and the company. Our server did apologize profusely and felt terrible. Overall, this is a lovely, and cozy little Italian place to dine. It's a small place, with more seating than you'd originally configure when you pull in. The decor was very simple, dark, but still classy looking. Upon being seated we were given our menus and fresh bread with butter and dipping oil. The Bread was a really pretty dense inside, and crunchy crust. Sadly, it wasn't really warm when it came out but I still enjoyed it. I ordered the Duck Breast with Risotto. The duck breast was cooked medium, sliced, and placed around the Risotto. It was seasoned nicely and hit the craving I didn't even know I had when I walked into the place. The risotto was kind of disappointing, under cooked and was simply not creamy at all. I didn't really pick up much flavor either, unless it was a bit of vegetable. My dining partner for the evening ordered a seafood combination that also came with risotto. He said it was all fine for him except that the scallops weren't as seared as he'd hoped they'd be. His risotto was also on the under cooked and bland side. At the end of the day, this was just a miss for me. The young lady serving us was polite, and we enjoyed her hosting our table. I think perhaps I'll have to try this place again in hopes of being able to upgrade this review. read more

Wow, my wife and I returned to this restaurant this evening and they have made many changes since my last review and visit in 2014... The food and service remains excellent as it was in 2014 and they have made earnest efforts to improve the ambiance, like changing lights, hanging pictures and photos among other modifications. All around very nice... If you like swordfish, a must have is the swordfish chop. I was lucky to get that and found it to be the best swordfish dish I have ever had... I was told Devine is the only restaurant in RI that serves it. WOW' Simply the best! Great job to the management chef and wait staff's looking forward to our next visit... read more

What a wonderful little Italian restaurant. The food, atmosphere, service, and prices are all outstanding. From the outside, it is a fairly nondescript building, it looks more like someone's house than a restaurant. Once you go inside there is a small bar and a dining room with a handful of tables. The menu consists of a fantastic assortment of appetizers, the calamari is out of this world, pizzas, various entrees ranging from classic Italian favorites to fishes and beefs, daily specials, and pastabilities. Pastabilities is your choice of about 5 different pastas, 7 sauces, and variety of different add ins including, chicken, shrimp, and meatballs. I have been here a few times and all of the dishes have been amazing! They are all made from scratch and there is enough food for at least 2 meals. I have tried the pasta, pizza, and the sesame pan crusted tuna which I would highly recommend!! On top of this the prices are very reasonable. Tonight was our third and most disappointing time here. The overall Atmosphere of this place is ok. Nice, clean, tables well spaced. We got there right at 5pm and it's very annoying that there are no lines in the parking lot as we came in 2 cars and were confused as to how to park. Welcome was friendly. The bathroom set up is weird. You have to go through a back hallway to get to it and last time I was there the back door was open and you think you're going to the bathroom, but you open the door and see the back yard lol. Atmosphere rating 3 stars. We've eaten here 3 times and the first time was really great, which is why we decided to come back. Second time I had the surf & turf special, which was cooked right and I really enjoyed it. Today we got Caesar salad, the seafood platter special which was swordfish, salmon and shrimp, and their a la carte pasta with spicy Italian sausage and pink vodka sauce. The salmon was over cooked. The swordfish seemed great at first, but one portion of the cut tasted so fishy I had to spit it out. It was inedible after that. Shrimp was done well but very small. Mashed potatoes and spinach were really good. The pasta and sauce were very forgettable. Within an hour of eating we both got stomach cramps and diarrhea. We both tried both dishes so it was hard to tell which one got us sick. Food rating for this place went from 4 stars to 1 star after today. Drinks are OK. nothing amazing. Had a very average mixed drink here which mixed champagne with other alcohol but it tasted like those ingredient didn't mix well. Would say 3 for wine selection and 2 for mixed drinks. Drinks overall 2 stars. We had a great bread pudding dessert here on our first visit but it seems like they took it off the menu. Dessert rating 4 stars. The service has never been very impressive here. The waiter today was friendly but visibly disappointed when we didn't order alcohol. He also did not know much about the menu and had to go back to the kitchen on at least 4 occasions to properly advise us of the menu and its ingredients. He also let us know it was his first day and seems like they just let him work rather than training him on the menu. I don't expect extensive training programs at a mom and pop shop but no training is very disappointing. WOW. This dish is ahhmazzzingggggg! I have tried a few other dishes including chicken parmigiana, and chicken piccata which were very good also. I've been meaning to try this place for YEARS. I finally got the chance and I can't say I'll return. The server was really nice, the place was empty and our food came out quickly. They brought bread bites with oil and I think parmesan cheese to dip. These were the nice aspects of the visit. On the downside, the dining room had several (10-15) flies buzzing around and mainly congregating in the picture window. I know flies don't really matter per se, but it was a little stressful worrying about if (or when) they would land on our table or food. I had the chicken piccata. It wasn't my favorite. My dining companion had the balsamic chicken and said it was delicious, so I'd opt for that instead. I adore this restaurant. The food is beyond authentic, so fresh & and taste amazing the quality will blow your head off. You can savor each bite and taste so many flavors. It is a smaller restaurant which I like, it makes it feel so cozy and at home but sophisticating enough where you feel as though you are out and in good company. We absolutely love DiVine! However, there was a new bartender for Wednesdays (not Steve!) and it really kills the vibe. His service was extremely slow, rude and not nearly up to the standard we have grown accustomed to from all other staff at this establishment. The waitress on staff that night was also great...she tried her best to get the bartender to hurry up on drinks because her table got food before them. Went on a Monday w my gf. Saw 4 seats available at the bar. Bartender said they were reserved. Sketchy but ok. Was seated at a small high top table in the bar area. Got takeout during COVID. First time visitor and the workers could not have been nicer and more appreciative. I had the gnocchi with chicken and fra Diavolo sauce. It was fantastic with lots of chicken and fresh ingredients. The sauce was not too spicy which was my only gripe (I like things wicked spicy though so probably good for majority of people).
