Amazing Greek pie
Liz M.

We eat here pretty often. I'm surprised we haven't reviewed yet. It's a great spot. Plenty of parking. Staff are wonderful. Food is home made and delicious. They have a large bar with any kind of drink you may wish. We tend to get pizza here , but their Greek salad is perfection. As well as the pasta fagiole. It's a family vibe and I'm sure your family will be welcomed here and fed well. Highly recommend !

Wine and Cheese offers a wide variety of options and everything we tried has been delicious. The staff is friendly, attentive, and goes above and beyond. Even when we're getting takeout, every item is packed with care and not spilling everywhere when you get home. They have many tasty Italian and Greek dishes but what stands out the most is their salad dressing that they also sell bottles of... yeah, it's that good. They have a spacious dining area and a separate section just for takeout which i assume they do a lot of.

Hair in the pizza. (To the left of the broccoli you can see it)

We were in the area and hungry for lunch so we decided to give them a try! Sadly, this was the first and definitely the last time coming here. Service was really slow.... We ordered a Mediterranean Calamari dish off their special menu and it was tasty but COLD. Nothing worst than cold fried food. We also ordered a pizza that came out to the table with a long hair on it. At this point, we immediately told the server about the hair and asked for our check. Won't be back.

Mediterranean calamari

Looking for a tasty new place for a lunch while running errands we tried Wine and Cheese. We ordered off the specials and got a Mediterranean calamari and Napoli pizza. There was nobody ahead of us, so we thought that the food would be hot and fresh... Sadly, the calamari came out cold. Otherwise it was very flavorful with a definite Mediterranean feel (which is why they got 2 stars). Sadly the pizza came out with a large hair baked in and we did not even try it. As we had waited quite a while already, we did not want them to remake the pizza and left. Probably not worth a second shot, as you can see from other reviews.

A lovely local restaurant! Three of us visited on a Thursday around 6pm. We were quickly seated without a reservation. We decided to order a few appetizers and sides to share - and thank goodness we did! The portions are HUGE! We would be back for another casual night out.

I love service - it's def my thing - and honestly our waitress was out to lunch. I felt like our table was being ignored. But then another waitress took over- which was weird. The food was ok to good. The Mozzarella bread which is usually incredible lacked a seasoning and I can say the same for the crust on the Popeye. It could be that I usual go to The Big Cheese and everything there is usually very flavorful. Not sure what the case was tonight but overall I was not super impressed. Hopefully I will give it another try but right now I'm undecided.

Wine & Cheese Wings Roasted Beets Salad And there bread was so good!

My wife and i stopped by for lunch. The décor is rustic Mediterranean. I like this showing. Everything came out promptly. The Beet salad was delicious very fresh. The chicken wings were piping hot, and yummy. My wife got the stuffed peppers for her main dish. She enjoyed them. I had the lasagna, it was very good. Again piping hot and excellent! Our waitresses was Nicole. She was extremely nice and accommodating. We don't get to this area very much, but we will definitely be back!

The host seemed surprised to see us despite being right on time for our reservation but we were seated right away after a quick exchange. Our server Erik came right over with a smile and continued to be a consummate professional throughout the evening. I wish I could have him be my server everywhere I go. We started the night with some seasonal cocktails. The spiced pear old fashioned was to die for. Complete with a solitary large cube and balanced flavors it was delicious. Our table had veal parm, linguine and white clam, and lasagna. Each dish was fresh and executed perfectly. It's a garlic lovers paradise but never overpowering, in a way any Nonna would approve. For dessert we split a slice of limoncello cake. The cake was so light and fluffy it was like eating air. Even the frosting was light enough where it didn't feel like we were stuffing ourselves to finish it. It's a smaller place so it gets busy quickly and can be a little loud. I would highly recommended a reservation as I don't think you'd have much luck getting a table on a weekend. There was a bar area with some seats but it's probably not easy to get a seat there either. As the old adage goes, if a restaurant is full all the time there's a good reason why ;)

Getting the server's attention required -really- waving down them down with two hands high in the air a few times, as eye contact and a little wave was not sufficient. They also seemed to be tending to the bar, but there was another bartender there too, and it wasn't very busy...and we were sat literally across from the bar and felt ignored. They dropped the bread basket 30 mins in and it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Once food was at the table the service picked up. One thing to note is they serve their dinner menu at lunch time on the weekends, which was not apparent from their website, so entrees averaged $35 for most of our group. There was also a 4% surcharge for using a Visa credit card and not paying cash (further research says using a debit card you can avoid this charge, we were not from RI). While we enjoyed the food, we'd likely look elsewhere next time for better service and more transparency on prices and charges upfront given there's many restaurant options in the area.

We sat down, looked at our menus, and about 10-15 mins later we got our waters. When we ordered our food, I asked if they had capellini for my Chicken Francese. Our waitress responded, "No, we don't, but the closest thing we have to it is linguini...but we also have angel hair, penne, and spaghetti." I was a bit confused; capellini is much closer to angel hair than linguini! Same with spaghetti! Brushed it off and my BF ordered a chicken piccata. Couldn't help but notice that the 4 people behind us (who were there before us) didn't order their drinks or food until about 10-15 mins after us, but they got their food 35 mins BEFORE us (we actually started keeping track, we were there for 45-50 mins at this point). We got our food and my boyfriend was very confused because they delivered a chicken Marsala instead of his chicken Piccata; I didn't even notice. He only orders chicken piccata from one other place, so it took him a minute to realize what he had been served... he tried it, thinking that we could just wrap up our experience since we were already running late, took 2 bites and said it wasn't something he liked so he put it at the end of the table. Unfortunately, I had already finished my meal by the time the waitress came over to check on us. No apology for messing up his order, but a, "oh, would you enjoy this?" My boyfriend was stunned. The piccata came out 15-20 mins after this interaction. I enjoyed my chicken Francese and he enjoyed his picatta. Luckily, our shrimp cocktail and peroni were comp'd but I'm not sure why they couldn't just take the meal off at that point -- it was like $4 extra for something that we didn't order in the first place. We were about 30 mins late to the game that we planned well ahead for. Maybe it was a bad night, but this was not a good first impression. TLDR: Service was horrible, food was good.

Our favorite drink for a night out is a dirty martini extra dirty. The martinis here are NEVER cold enough. They are legit luke warm. So we have learned to ask for them extra shaken here. Not only were our martinis still not cold, but they were clear aka not dirty. We sent them back based on the color and our server brought the same martinis back with a side of olive juice. After trying them with the extra juice they had a dirty water taste to them, almost like the ice used to shake them was dirty, which is ironic considering they were barely cold. I hate to do this but we sent them back again and let the server know they simply didn't taste good and also were not cold enough. He ended up going back and making them himself and they were much better but STILL. It shouldn't be this difficult for a bartender to make a very standard drink. The food unfortunately was also very mid. The table behind us actually sent their food back twice as well and the manager had to come over. It's also worth noting I put in the reservation it was my husband's birthday and there was no acknowledgement of it at all. This restaurant is meant to be a splurge for a nice dinner out and honestly was not up to par at all. $300 dinner for two and I was extremely disappointed. Honestly don't think we will be back.

When you sit down, you have the option to order from any of their menus (from different cuisine types), but we decided to go with Pasta/Italian/Pizza which is Double Zero's speciality. To start off, we got their meatballs. These were solid, the tomato sauce was delicious! I wish the meatball itself had more of a crispy/crunchy outer layer. It was a bit too soft/mushy for my liking. You could definitely tell it was plant-based as well (which is fine, just not my preference!). We got their Cacio e Pepe and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. I was a big fan of the Garlic Bread Twist! I could honestly eat this by itself. The Garlic Bread wasn't overwhelming the Rigatoni it was paired with but very flavorful. The Rigatoni was okay to me, it wasn't the usual Rigatoni pasta shape and I thought it could've had stronger flavors/seasoning. I really enjoyed their Cacio e Pepe, the cashew cream sauce was very tasty and highlighted the black pepper and cheese flavors. At first I wasn't a fan of it. After a few bites, it grew on me! Service was solid, our waitress was friendly and we got our food quick. I can see this as a great spot for people with dietary restrictions or just a cute date spot as well. I recommend giving this place a try! I think if I were to come back, I'd like to try their pizzas.
