I will say that the decor was nice, with blues and whites that were reminiscent of the sea. The bar also had a large TV mounted above it with an aquarium scene playing. The lights also seemed to have an aqua theme and reminded me of bubbles rising through the ocean, although I thought the restaurant itself felt quite dim. For dinner on this evening, I decided to start with the fried calamari appetizer and then went with the Crudo Burger for my entree. The menu described the fried calamari as "tender calamari lightly fried and sautéed with tempura zucchini, banana peppers, and garlic butter." The Crudo Burger was described as an "8 oz house blend burger topped with lightly fried Brie, bacon pepper jam, roasted garlic aioli, and arugula on a buttery baked brioche, served with our signature fries." The calamari came out first and had great breading that was light and sort of shattered when I bit into it. I loved the banana peppers, but the calamari itself was rubbery. The zucchini was a fun addition that helped break up the flavors, and I wish there had been more of it. I also would have liked to taste more of the garlic butter. Once I finished that, my Crudo Burger came out, and between the burger and all the French fries, it was absolutely massive. On my first bite, I got hints of maple from the bacon jam. The burger itself was cooked nicely to a medium and had great flavor, while the bun was nicely toasted. My fries were good as well, seasoned nicely with some Parmesan and truffle flavor. Last but not least was the fried Brie in the middle of my burger. Honestly, it sort of put me over the top, and after eating it, I couldn't finish anything else. I ended up getting both the check and a to-go box for half of my burger and three-quarters of my fries. It's worth noting that my server was nice and enthusiastic throughout my time there. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While I felt that the calamari was overcooked, the burger and fries were delicious, and I thought the decor was tastefully done as well.

Had that been spooned off rather than mixed back in, it would probably have been OK. I believe some folks may like their sauce like that but there are others who don't or should not have that much grease in their food for health or diet reasons. Maybe they could offer the sauce as is and also a "lighter" version where the grease is drained ? Other than that, the place is a nice treat and a good alternative to cooking dinner yourself ! The chef/owner Luigi is a really friendly older man from Italy. He's the real deal and he runs an amazing restaurant and kitchen. He once told us that he goes to the market at dawn every day to pick out the choicest produce. Everything is made fresh. The Place isn't fancy, but they've made it nice with the space they have. It is a hidden gem. They serve only beer and wine, soda and water. I've only gotten half carafes of Cab. But the chef came out and had shots of homemade limoncello with us before and gave us complimentary Bruschetta. Rumor is they get their bread from Buono Italian Bakery in Providence.
