Food - house made salad it was good basic salad Garlic bread appetizer very mediocre I could've done without Veal Parmigiana with house made pasta 10/10 I've had many veals this is by far one of the best! The pasta was delicious too! Great portion size! I also ordered the blackberry cosmo they were amazing My friend ordered the chicken Marsala it was a good sized portion could've use a little more flavor on the chicken Service- great service, very attentive and friendly Ambiance- nice, fresh, very big inside they have two dining rooms and a room with just the bar. We have been here many times and when we walk in, Hostess always ask do you have a reservation? We say no. There are many tables available but they tell us there is a half hour wait. Why? The food and service are great it's just a wait to get seated without a reservation. read more

We had 7:45pm reservations and arrived a few min early, were seated a few min early. We waited and waited and waited an hour and 10 minutes for our food. It came out hot and was very good. The sauce is a little sweet. I'd probably opt for pink vodka next time. My only complaint is the cheap cheese they use. I'm Italian and typically use pecorino Romano. It's like sawdust and tastes dry and cheap. It ruins the delicious homemade pasta in my opinion. We got a slice of peanut butter cake as well to split. It was dry AF. Refills are not free btw. Overall just okay this time. The parking was also terrible. We had to park next-door and walk over. Not sure we'll return, too many negatives. read more

We went here for my birthday with family and it really exceeded my expectations. They have 3 rooms. The left is a bar area, a middle room and the room on the right has larger tables for big parties. They could use a little more decor, but it was still cozy. I had the garden salad with blue cheese, chicken piccatta and spaghetti. The others in our party also had chicken piccatta and gnocchi. The food was excellent as was the service. The server was very attentive and she and a bus girl promptly cleared dirty dishes. They have a parking lot which is ample and I would recommend making a reservation especially on a Saturday night because when we left at about 7pm it was mobbed! Highly recommended! My wife and I have been going almost once a week to Pat's for the past 3 years. Simply the best Italian Restaurant for me. Love the sauce and the veal parm is "THE BEST". My mom has been raving about this place for a while now. I went here many years ago and was not a fan at all. However, mom and her friend really enjoy the veal marsala. She talked about how thick it was and how great the quality. So she decided to order us takeout. Veal marsala. Let's just say it's very underwhelming. The meat was so thin and tasted absolutely nothing like veal. The taste was just horrible. The Marsala sauce was lacking in taste as well. I'm personally not ever going to eat here again. This restaurant has been on my bucket list and I was finally able to experience it. The service was great, I had a party of 5 on a very busy Saturday/holiday weekend and they were able to accommodate my family within 5mins of calling. They pulled a table aside and made sure it was set on time, even with a kids cup ready to go. We ordered several apps: Cheesy Garlic Bread, Calamari, and Mozzarella Triangles. The mozzarella triangles were the best out of the 3 apps ordered. The Cheesy Garlic bread could use some more cheese. I also got a chicken soup and Caesar salad on the side. The pasta in the chicken soup was a bit mushy but had good flavor. The Caesar salad dressing wasn't very flavorful, pretty basic but the lettuce was crispy. My family ordered the Christine, Bolognese, and chicken parm with pink vodka. All of the entrees were the shining stars and absolutely delicious. Very big portions! We had a gift card for this restaurant and decided to use it tonight. Wow! We were so impressed with the food. Everything we tried was tasty and the portions were large. They even offer a dinner for 2 for $50 - an app to share, two soups/salads and two entrees - which made our first visit there a great value. I'm very busy today but wanted to take a moment to leave a review before I forget. Yesterday my family and I dined out at Pat's Italian restaurant again. It was a very busy night. We finally sat down (we didn't make reservations- note to self for next time) and I can clearly see the waitress was very busy but we got our water, menu and bread pretty quickly. Linda took a quick moment to let us know she's a little busy so it will be awhile but she will get to us as soon as she can. I appreciated that very much, she let us know she's present and we're not left wondering who's going to be waiting on us. Throughout the night, we see Linda bouncing from table to table tending to everyone's need with a smile. I can clearly see how much of a workload she has , yet she maintained solid service. When things settled down a little I took the time to let her know I appreciate her. She said she has been doing this for 42 years and she does not like delivering bad service. The spot that she waited on was far from the kitchen yet she moved incredibly fast with a high awareness of her customers and their needs. My tea and honey was empty and without asking she got me another one shortly after I finished it. I completely appreciated her. The food at Pat's is very good. I love their soup and my personal favorite is their homemade house pasta. The texture is on point and it compliments with the sauce perfectly. This is definitely my favorite Italian restaurant. We live in CT but driving here for the food is worth it. read more

"They have the best red sauce" "Have you tried Pat's in Johnston? You'll like it." This is what I had been recently told about Pat's. I do love Italian. When Mother's Day rolled around and my husband asked where do you want to eat- I said Pat's (after Lucky dog only had 8pm reservations.) Large parking lot since the restaurant is in a strip mallesque building. But they fulfill a lot of the 'shops.' We had reservations. No wait needed. Modern decor, large bar. It is a dark facility and runs a little cold I found. The parmesan salad dressing needs a little kick! The chicken parm was a nice size portion. The chicken was cooked well enough to be cripsy but tender (I like that!) But the red sauce was not the best. I like it garlicy and this was more sweet. It was fine. My husband had the crispy chicken alfredo. The Alfredo was missing something... garlic. My husband explained the place is a very safe for all palettes type of place. We went here for hubs birthday. What a great place. It's so nice and welcoming inside. It's perfect for a date night or special occasion. We made a reservation just because I dislike waiting , but it was not a wait , mostly because it was during the week. They are generally busy on the weekend. We had a special that came with wine and two dinners. We Both had chicken parm and it was delicious. The portions were huge and we had dinner for two more days. The portions here are generous and the menu is affordable and not overly priced. The garlic bread was so flavorful and not soggy like some italian places. Everything I tried from everyone's plate (haha!) was great! I had the custom pasta with penne, vodka sauce and meatballs. SO flavorful, sauce wasnt overly tomato based and acidic ketchup-tasting like some italian places can be. The sauce was spectacular, not overly creamy and not under or overly flavored. i still think of this vodka sauce and can't wait to double back for it. ALSO, this portion was generous!! The food was excellent. Everything was served hot. They have a special for $25 that has a half appetizer, soup or salad and a full size entree. They were busy and the service was slow. The servers were really hustling. They do put a 20% service charge for parties 6 or more. With the prices today, we like to do couples checks. We don't have to worry about someone covering our expensive dish or extra drink. Most places today, offer this, they don't. I got pink sauce on my pasta but was disappointed very watery and not great flavor. Pasta miscuglio is another solid dish. Soup is good. Wow hats off to the chef. The RI calamari , nailed it with the olive oil and peppers. I had the Lobster pasta seafood dish, the amount of lobster and the vodka sauce was fantastic. The fig glazed flatbread even better than I expected. The size of the chicken parmigiana was for breakfast. Awesome waiter Sean and the new waiter, hats off to you. All around perfect. Made a reservation on line for 19:30 on Saturday Night 29 July 2023. We were seated promptly in a comfortable booth and the decor of the restaurant was nice and the temperature was very comfortable. Took a while for the waitress to get around to us but not an unreasonable amount of time. We ordered a couple of drinks and a calamari appetizer. Neither my Wife or I could figure out what we did to pi$$ off our waitress. I asked for ketchup & tabasco sauce with the calamari, my Wife thought that was what did it but whatever it was, the service took a detour to not being even a little bit enjoyable. The attitude of our server was noticeably unfriendly and this put a damper on the remainder of our evening. We actually enjoyed the food overall with no complaints about any of it and I would have probably returned in the future but when we go out for a "nice" dinner on a Saturday Evening, it's not just about the food and because of the service, neither one of us had a positive experience and have no desire to return. I typically tip at least 25% to the total bill after tax for good service. Tonight I tipped 20% to the pretax total and rounded up to the nearest dollar. Honestly that was too much for the unfriendly service and lack of courtesy we received. Unfortunate experience because the restaurant is nice and the food was adequate but as a result of the service, our overall experience was negative and there are too many good Italian Restaurants in the Providence Metro Area to put up with this sort of B.S. We went to Pat's Italian Bistro tonight in the Chapel Grille Plaza tonight. They are part of the Pat's Italian Restaurant family of Johnston and Coventry. It is Friday night, with no reservation at 5:30, and we got right in. My husband loves their garlic bread- full order. He ordered Pasta Bolognese and I had Swordfish Risotto. The risotto was lemon with a lemon sauce over the swordfish, which was perfectly cooked. There was no loss of lemon flavor. In fact, there may have been too much lemon, but nevertheless, it was delicious. We love the atmosphere of this restaurant and enjoy watching the chefs working their delicious magic in the open kitchen. We have always had a delicious experience here and will be back! read more

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I was surprised how many dining rooms they have in the building. The restaurant was well lit (a bit too bright for my tastes) and very clean. They had lots of great choices on the menu and I had a hard time deciding because I had heard so many good things from other people who had been there before me and recommended this restaurant to me. I end up choosing the chicken marsala, and I thought the dish itself was worthy of three out of five stars. I've had worse, but I've definitely had better. Not to say that I wouldn't order this dish again in the future and I'm eagerly looking forward to going back there in the future and trying other menu items. The service was more than adequate and waitress was very friendly and helpful. The prices of the items on the menu were very fair and about average when compared to other restaurants serving similar dishes is also plenty of parking available right by the entrance. I will start by saying something positive. The food was pretty good. It goes downhill from there. We went on a Fri night expecting the place to be packed from all the cars in the lot. It wasnt busy at all, empty tables everywhere yet we were told it would be a 15 min wait. Ok, so that had to mean they were short staffed, no problem. With all the empty tables, the hostess sat us in a corner where we were staring at a wall. Again, ok, no problem, maybe they had reservations coming in. Later we realized they didn't. We ordered drinks and when they arrived the waiter, who was pleasant enough spilled the drinks all over my father in law. We should have left at that point because he was soaked but he didnt want to spoil the evening. Then some of the dishes came out correctly and some incorrectly so everyone felt compelled to wait for those who had to send their incorrect dinners back and the correct ones turned cold. To top off the evening, not only did they not even offer a drink or dessert on the house for all the trouble but charged us for the drink they spilled all over my father in law which we had told them not to replace! After our complaining, they did remove that charge. The manager or hostess never approached us to apologize for the disaster of an evening. Also, don't let the pictures on their website fool you. The waitress was very friendly but never checked on us or asked us if we wanted or needed anything. We had to hunt her down for everything or she would just run by. Enjoyed a nice meal at Pat's Italian on a recent Friday night. After a busy day and some early evening activities, the hunger got the better of us and some cravings for classic Italian dishes hit us both....and Pat's seemed to be calling. We walked in and were seated at a table and promptly asked about beverages and bread for the table. After surveying the menu we selected the chicken parm served with penne and choice of salad or soup; which the chicken soup was selected. We also selected the glazed salmon served over much from and spinach risotto along with a salad (the Apple vinaigrette dressing on the side was refreshingly light). Both meals were served piping hot which was unexpected, but most welcome. The chicken parm was very traditional with a huge portion that required a take home box for lunch the next day. The sauce has a hint of sweetness to it which we also liked. The salmon was good sized and cooked medium. The risotto was smooth and creamy with plenty of spinach and mushrooms for taste and texture. We passed on dessert, but certainly will be putting Pat's on a regular rotation when in the Johnston area. read more

First off, we love Pat's. Our food and service experience has always been positive. Sadly, last night fell way short. We sat at the bar. The drinks were very good! My girl asked for a lime wedge, but it never came so we asked another bartender who got one for her. No biggie. Then we waited and waited and WAITED for our bartender to take our food order. She never asked. It seemed as if she was more interested in taking other patrons' drink orders. The other bartender showed a real sense of urgency with his patrons. We've had him before, and we love his level of attentiveness. The people he was serving were well taken care of. We were a little sad that we didn't get him as our server. Oh well. Maybe our girl was having a bad night. She had a gorgeous engagement ring, which we complemented when she gave us menus. Plan B. I decided to ask the hostess if we could get a table for two instead of the bar. We did not complain about our experience at the bar. We are not like that. (Yet, here, I am writing a review on Yelp! It was a bad week. We just put my Dad in a nursing home and we figured a nice night out at Pat's would cheer us up.) BTW, another couple had sat next to us at the bar shortly after we first got there. The moment we got up to leave the bar, our bartender took that couple's food order. How about that? Now we're seated at a table (Plan B) and bread, butter, and water arrived immediately from a bus boy. That was key as we were starving!!! A waiter took our drink order and delivered the beverages. Again, delicious! We knew what we wanted for dinner after sitting at the bar staring at our menus for so long so we were ready to put in our order. However, the waiter said "I can't take your order right now because I have to take their order first" pointing to a table of 8 people just a few feet away from our table. At that point, we felt as if our patronage was not valued at all. I had no choice but to ask for the tab and cash out. We called ahead to Trattoria Romana in Johnston where we were welcomed with open arms and accommodated in every aspect that a paying customer would expect. We are most easy-going people when we are dining out. Low maintenance and great tippers.
