A bistro menu with wonderful food The staff was great and very professional. Appropriately friendly. Foodmates raved about the mac & cheese/lobster, tasty shrimp & avocado salad. Order the frites 'for the table' as soon as you order beverages. Very creative and flavorful' Morrocan chicken' My salmon niçoise was really salmon on a bed of string beans (delish but not what was expected) The 'touted' vanilla ice cream was not worth the calories but the crepe was consumed with glee by all Ez parking on street Nice neighborhood for the stroll (We love a full menu with desserts listed)

Canaille salad - A colorful salad featuring lettuce, cucumber, orange slices, beet cubes, and cheese on a white plate, served at a French bistro.

Food was amazing , wonderful presentation and appropriate amounts. Wonderful staff. Delicious deserts . Unlike other restaurants food was distinct and not overdone or over salted. Would definitely go back and recommend for a special occasion!

Stopped in for a very late lunch on the Friday after Christmas. The place was empty but the servers were awesome. We both had the French onion soup and shared a burger. Both were very good. The soup was hot and cheesy. The half of the burger was the perfect amount of food if you are not really hungry. Cool ambience, nice seat at the window overlooking the quaint town of Bristol. I would definitely recommend stopping in.

Very cute french bistro serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.. My first time going and had a tough time selecting from their brunch menu. My 3 friend's and I loved our breakfast waffles and fresh berries with the best whipped cream I've ever had. My friend had the lemon ricotta crepes which she said were the best crepes she's ever had. I enjoyed my cappuccino and we had a side of the cinnamon sugar popovers. I'll definitely visit again!

I brought hubby here for a date night a few weekends ago. I made our reservation via OpenTable, and used their rating system to decide on Le Central over other similarly popular date night options in the Bristol/Barrington/Warren area. We parked on the street and walked in a little before our reservation. The place was surprisingly sparsely attended, despite being a weekend night at prime dinner time. The good news was that we were given our choice of basically any table, and we picked one with a good view of the restaurant. To start, we began with the endive salad, which was hands down the best thing we ate all night. The endives were crisp and fresh, and were topped with toasted walnuts, sweet beets, tangy gorgonzola, and were just really delicious. Even thought we said we were going to share the salad, they took the liberty of plating it split for us. After that we tried the onion soup. It was extremely heavy, like perhaps it had cooked down too long. It was also weirdly boozy, like they deglazed the pan with something alcoholic and it hadn't cooked off yet. It was also very salty, and flavor-wise was not well-balanced. For dinner, he opted for the grilled Moroccan chicken and I went for the grilled lobster. His chicken was similar to my soup, not well seasoned, and had the wrong ratio of spices for the flavor they were trying for. My lobster was well cooked, but it was completely not salted at all, including the accompanying veggies which were bland and not seasoned. The food was so unimpressive, we opted not to stay for dessert and walked down the street and got ice cream elsewhere. If we had only had the salad, our experience would have been so different, but unfortunately it was the one-off in comparison to the rest of the dishes. Service was good and friendly, and the restaurant had a good atmosphere with decent prices, but they lost us on the either over seasoning or lack of seasoning. Would not likely return.

Everyone who works there is friendly and inviting, and even gave us a cute little amuse to start the night and the buckwheat shortbread to end. Here's everything we ordered: Agnolotti stuffed with tofu ricotta, with English peas, bacon, and a savory broth (my entree, I loved this - the broth was quite salty but the peas added a lovely freshness) Fazzoletti e funghi: local blue oyster mushrooms in a white wine cream sauce ‍ (my Mom's entree, also delicious and so umami) "Ivy rose" mocktail with grapefruit, prickly pear, and limeade (delightful!) Appetizers: fried squash blossoms stuffed with tofu ricotta in pomodoro sauce, and housemade focaccia with a trio of whipped butters (thyme and shallot, Calabrian chili, and smoked sweet onion). The ratio of butter to focaccia was more than double what we could use (we ordered more focaccia to spread it on!) but both of these apps were perfect. Foglia burger: house burger patty, tomato jam, garlic aioli, lettuce, onions, pickles, onion ring, housemade focaccia, and spicy agave parsnip fries (my dad's entree and to my delight he really enjoyed it!) Dessert: a gigantic slice of tiramisu (my favorite cake!). This was a huge slab, enough to share and have some leftover for breakfast. A little on the dry side for tiramisu but still really nice. Foglia is such a gem and we had a great time in Bristol, it's a beautiful town. The restaurant is small and cozy but was not too busy when we went. I highly recommend Foglia for a special occasion!

While we're not typically focused on vegetarian cuisine, every course was thoughtful, flavorful, and satisfying. The appetizer and pasta courses were standouts--creative, beautifully executed, and memorable. The wine pairings were spot-on and complemented each dish seamlessly. Restaurants like this only survive if diners seek them out and return--so whether it's your first visit or your fifth, it's well worth it. The chef/owner was nominated for a James Beard Award a few years ago, and the talent is evident in every course. Total with tip was about $370--very fair for the quality and experience.

The drink menu was not very extensive. Our Asian salad cups appetizer tasted exactly like an Asian salad mix I've bought at the grocery store and looked like it too - I'm convinced that's exactly how they prepared this. My veggie burger had burnt edges and wasn't too enjoyable flavor-wise. It didn't help my overall impression that when I got takeout here another time, they totally butchered my boyfriend's name when we ordered over the phone, and we had a hard time picking up our order because of this (how you get "Stephanie" from "Anthony," I just really don't know). I think this place just gets lucky having a good location across from Independence Park and being close to but just out of the way from downtown. Can't say I was impressed by the food - there are too many other good options in Bristol, I just can't say I'd recommend this to others. A fun little addition to this restaurant is that they also double as an ice cream shop which would have been the PERFECT dessert for me if I wasn't so full after my dinner. The indoor seating we were put in was a high top, but it was just enough room to seat 5 people comortably. I ordered the Bayview Burger paired truffle fries (chose to upgrade from normal fries), and it was the absolute most perfect choice! I also tried the Brussel Sprouts, but I would say if you like them crispy all the way through, these were not. I also had a fun mocktail with a dragonfruit (unfortunately can't find the name of the drink, but the picture is below) to pair with my food--I will say that while it was tasty, it was pretty sweet but was the perfect pair with my Bayview Burger, which was a bit on the saltier side. The only downside to our experience is that once it did start getting pretty busy in the restaurant, the service was much much slower (which is a given with how busy it was) and we had to ask a different waiter to help us get our check and head out. The burger I ordered (bacon cheeseburger with no bacon) was delicious. No complaints there and I will probably reorder. Not only did he not tell me it would be $2.75 (or something like that) more, but the fries are listed as the same price online. When I told him that, he said that their online menu is really old (this is to say, don't look at it! and also, not sure why they wouldn't update it if they know it's incorrect). Sure enough, the printed menu also said nothing about an upcharge for a different fry, so ultimately I was able to remove the charge, but it was a little awkward and frustrating. My only other complaint is not particularly the fault of the restaurant, but I suppose just a side effect of the laidback vibes. A group of 7 or 8 people came in like 20 minutes after us and was so loud that I almost suggested we leave. Upon arrival we were greeted quite quickly and my coat dispatched to the cloak closet. The hostess took us through the bar to a two top and let us know our Captain would be with us shortly. While waiting my partner and I both selected cocktails from the menu. The Captain arrived and took our drink orders, also letting us know that there would be two dessert specials, both of which required ordering at the beginning of the meal as they took time to prepare. Both the Grand Marnier Souffle and the Tart Tatin sounded wonderful. Cocktails came after a short wait, and we put in our order: To Start-Beef Tartar and Sweetbreads, followed by Caesar Salads for us both; and then Duck for my partner and Filet for myself (both medium rare). We selected a hearty Pinot Noir to go with the apps and entrees. This would be one of the few times we saw the "Captain" throughout the meal, and to be honest I'm pretty sure they were short at least one server, as most of the food was delivered by the bus boy (I can't give him the honorific of commis or assistant) or the bar tender. Bread and butter were dropped unceremoniously on the table, and that's ok because the French bread was average and the slice of butter tube was nothing special. A few grains of black or pink salt would have kicked it up a bit, a short spiel about the local bakery that makes the bread could have been nice, something about the local herbs and honey in the butter could be good (there wasn't any but hey I can dream...) Our Waiter returned with wine and offered to pour early so it could breathe but no need as it's a Pinot Noir and we have some time as we were both finishing the cocktails (which were also very well made and tasty), but the offer was appreciated. Appetizers came , and the bus boy had to be told who got which one, but to be honest the sweetbreads were just fantastic. The beef tartar was good but nothing amazing. The wine went very well with both. This is where the night turned a bit south, as the "salads" came out. Using a 6inch ring mold, the kitchen chopped romaine to the point where it was smaller than ¼ inch by ¼ inch sized, then tossed that in a very light dressing consisting of mostly anchovies. Finally the entire ring of lettuce was crusted with bread crumbs (and I assume parmesan) providing a 1/2 inch tall salad 6 inches across with gritty topping and tasting very much of umami but not so much like Caesar salad. To the point where we couldn't eat them and they had to be taken off the bill. Entrée Time. Once again the inability to code the ticket so that the servers know which entrée goes to which guest is just subpar. The duck, while crispy on the skin was way past medium rare and seemed a bit small for a full duck breast. Sauce and Rillette was pretty good. Filet (when I pronounced the 'T' during the ordering process the server didn't understand, but I guess that's just me being picky) was also well past medium rare, the bordelaise was fair and the beets were great. We ate the food as it was there and we were now hungry and realizing this was not to be the amazing meal that we thought it would be. Our bus boy came back to clear and take coffee orders. I was also going to get a Grand Marnier to go with the souffle and cork the remainder of bottle 2 of the Pinot Noir but when I asked for an Americano he was completely lost so I just asked for a 'cup of coffee' and my partner had a double espresso. I didn't want to burden this poor guy with more things he didn't know about like aperitifs. The Souffle came out and busboy tried to make a show of breaking the crust and adding crème anglaise to it, but it just didn't work for him, maybe because the crème anglaise was so think it didn't pour it kinda glopped off the spoon. That's OK because when we broke into the souffle it turned out to be fancy scrambled eggs (so they overcooked or overwhipped or both). The tart tatin was again 6 inch ring mold sized and looked like a fried egg white on a piece of toast. True it tasted good but it was in no way shape of form a decent Julia Child like tart tatin. The server came over and I asked him to remove the souffle and also informed him that his tip wouldn't be so very good as he didn't check on the cook on the entrees nor the dessert until it was pretty much time for the check. After removing the two salads and the desert, our bill was still over $400 for the meal, which is, to be completely honest, about $200 more than it was worth.
