Our order: Dominican hotdog- all the way Small order of fritura ( carne, longaniza, and chicharron ) with totones yaroa de chicharron Chimi- regular 1. The hotdog was amazing. It tasted just as if we were in the "patio", Dominican Republic. It had sautéed cabbage meat sauce cheese ketchup and mayo. 2. The fritura or the fried meats was also very well seasoned especially the carne/ steak. The tostones were a bit soft but I'm sure they would've been crispy had we had our food there. 3. Chicharron Yaroa- this was okay, nothing really stood out 4. Chimi- this was not my favorite at all. When I look for a Chimi I am looking for the works, nice meat size to fit bread ratio and fillings like cabbage, onions tomatoes etc. here, the Chimi is very pressed like a panini with just mayo ketchup and light cabbage Overall what really stood out to me was their Dominican hotdog and fritura. For a while the sun was beaming on us--it felt like a warm hug--but eventually went down. I had been eyeing a few things on their menu and decided to try them all. To start, I wanted some crudo; they were offering tautog, fluke, or bluefin. Based on the prices, bluefin was most expensive so figured it was the best one and google confirmed it. So I ordered that, followed by the rhody butcher burger (side Caesar salad instead of fries) for my entrée. The bluefin came out after a couple minutes. There were about 10 one square inch pieces, about a third of a centimeter thick with a beautiful light but deep red color over a bed of olive oil and topped with coarse salt. There was an aioli like thick sauce, a lemon wedge, and one other topping on the side. It looked and tasted fresh, but I really wish it came with a bread or scooper of some sort. I am still new to crudo, so I need something to absorb some of the fishy raw taste. After a couple more minutes, the burger came out. They were kind enough to give me fries and the salad. The fries were very delicious and so was the aioli sauce on the side. Sadly the burger bun was a little soggy because of the burger patty juices and super deluxe sauce. I liked that the bun was covered in sesame seeds, but I did not like that the super deluxe sauce and pickles overpowered a lot of the flavors. The burger patty was cooked between medium and medium well, but the meat that was pink was still pasty (like raw ground beef), rather than juicy and tender. One of my favorite parts of the burger was the pickled jalapeno it came with on the side. The Caesar salad was definitely one to remember. It was topped with tons of parmesan cheese, which is the right way to do a salad. The croutons tasted a little smokey which was cool. Overall, I liked the vibes, the staff was kind and attentive, and the food was okay. They have a small parking lot, but there is also a lot of street parking. The bathrooms were clean. They have a bar and seating wrapped around it.
