Excellent Latin American joint in New Bedford. A bit of a hole in the wall, it does have tables and chairs for sitting, but most people go there for take out. One Friday we got there around 12:30pm and there was a line about 10 deep. They offer complete meals for $5 (includes a meat, rice and vegetables). It is a nice filling option. They have pork, beef and chicken dishes to choose, at least 3-4 varieties of any one of those meats...some BBQ, some slow cooked, some roasted, etc. They also serve empanadas and other Latin American snacks. Cash only. Plenty of parking on the street or lot across.

Large plate $10 plus an extra dollar for plantains, so worth it, delicious!

I love this place. Portions are always plentiful, food is very flavorful and delicious. I treat myself to a Chippi and a plate from here whenever I'm in the area! My favorite tradition

Food so good I inhaled it before I could take the picture. Authentic quinine with flavors that don't disappoint! Friendly atmosphere.

    Empanadas! Delicious

For cinco de Mayo I decided to pick up empanadas from Celias. Well I had to go back and pick up a second batch. Why was this my first time there. This place has been at the same spot for 16 years. Delicious!! And the employees were very friendly

You can't say no to this place I've been coming hear for years and never had a bad plate ! Fresh , hot , delicious food . I recommend everything on the menu. I love the lay out ( buffet style) you see what food your picking and you also have to try the pastelitos (best around) !!Also the passion fruit juice is the amazing, if your ever near this location stop by grab a 5$ plate you won't regret it! It's also really reasonably priced for the portion.

If you're looking for fine dining, totally looking in the wrong place. But if your looking for some amazing hardy traditional Spanish food, this is it! Very healthy portions of food and good selection of proteins. We opted for the ox tail, goat, beef, fried pork, and pig feet. Least fav was the pig feet cause of the texture, but overall everything was on point. Totally recommend checking it out, great tasting food and good pricing.

Rice with beef and an empanada.
 Yum!

Best Dominican food I've ever had. Super quick and easy stop to get food. The line is usually long but it's never a long wait.

We are very blessed . . …read more That our area of Southeastern Connecticut has such a large Puerto Rican population - - or we may have never tasted the wonderful food that this restaurant offers. One of the best, if not THE VERY BEST, restaurants in the local area. My only concerns: 1) I didn't see a bathroom, but I didn't need one ‍; 2) we could have used a knife for the pork stick, but we should have asked. The staff is extremely helpful. Wonderful designs, with lots of inspiration. Now for the food: - Chicken Steam Plate: Chicken leg, rice & beans, fried plantain pieces. Chicken super moist, rice was outstanding, & plantains were very tasty. - Beef Stew: very good, similar to Filipino Beef Mechado. - Pork Stick: great tasting pork - - for me, I would have liked a bit more "fatty" on my stick, but it was really meaty!!! - Beans were nicely done. - Smashed Plantains were served with 1000 Island dressing: probably just as good without the dressing. - Ground Beef Empanada: good, a bit of vegetables would have put it over the top (potatoes, onions, carrots, peas) - - but that's there style. - Chicken Empanada: ok, a bit salty for us. Enjoy!!!!!

The only thing is that this spot is a bit pricer than other Hispanic restaurants. Therefore I don't make it in often. But when I do come, I'm never disappointed.

I've been eyeing this place on my delivery app for a while and I finally ordered last night. The…read moremenu has so many tasty sounding dishes that it was hard to decide what to order, but I eventually decided on the ham and cheese sandwich, fried chicken and sweet plantains, beef/onions and rice with pigeon peas, and alcapurria. They offer different sizes for the meals so I chose small portions of each to try a few different options, but each helping was still quite large! The total for all of this food ended up being around $25 also so it was an amazing deal. The food itself was AMAZING: Ham and cheese sandwich - with lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo, this sounds basic but it was SO GOOD. The bread was pressed down and nice and toasty, and the proportions of the ingredients were just spot on. A really great and affordable hot sandwich! Fried chicken and sweet plantains - the chicken was a little older since I ordered at the end of the day, but there was still enough moisture in it that it wasn't dry. The batter was also really well seasoned with different herbs and spices - it had a really nice rounded flavor rather than just being salty. The plantains were also nice and caramelized - a perfect sweet bite! Beef/onions and rice with pigeon peas - The beef was a little bit dry but still full of flavor and felt like it had been cooking in the sauce for a while so it was pretty tender. The rice and pigeon peas were really really good though - I will likely choose this as my side moving forward. Not sure how to describe it but it was really flavored with spices but not overly powerful in any direction. Really delicious rice. Alcapurria - My favorite! I had these in Puerto Rico and this version was nicely crisped with a ton of flavored minced meat in the center. The texture was spot on and just so savory and memorable. I want to go back to try the chicharrons, the tres leches cake, the chicken stew, the empanadas, and so many more things on this menu. It's really a gold mine for dishes and so so so delicious!
