    Lobster with penne
    Melinda L.

This place was cozy and inviting. The food was fresh. The sword fish with a lobster aioli was so delicious, moist flaky fish again you could taste the freshness. Another entree tried was the lobster with penne pasta baked better than a Mac and cheese definitely needs the squeeze of lemon on it. It's not a decoration. Dessert we had tiramisu which was very soaked in coffee a little on the sweet side for me. We also had the pistachio cake it was moist I wish it had more pistachio flavor and maybe a pistachio praline on the delightful cream cheese frosting that was light and airy. I would return again.

The whipped cream actually looks "better" in this pic than it is

No seasoning and poorly served food. And I didn't try it just once, I gave it more than one chance

Excellent date night spot. And for those that can't get a sitter accommodating to the kids. Food and drinks are always creative and fun.

Luckily, while visiting friends- we are not locals, we had the opportunity to have lunch at Elizabeth's.

When a friend recommended Kyler's, we knew we had to take a little road trip to check it out. Primarily a fish shop, you know the offerings are going to be local & fresh as soon as you pull up to this harborside location. Fishing boats literally surround the place! But, a huge, inviting outside deck shows that this place is much more than just a fish shop. We were here to eat today, not shop. And, boy, did we eat! On a cold, windy day - that beautiful deck was out. We ordered & grabbed drinks & settled into a small table - one of just a few in a corner of the shop. This time of the year the kitchen seems to do mostly take-out. We started with a New England Clam Chowder & Stuffed Quahog. The chowder was thick, rich & and delicious, though maybe just a tad floury. The stuffie had just the right amount of spice. Loved the thumb print to help aid reheating - an idea I may steal! But, the main event, by far was the amazing Fisherman's Platter! Plenty of food for two to share everything was perfectly cooked & could not have been more fresh. Good, freshly made fries provide a base rather than overwhelming the seafood. The platter included a half dozen each of good-sized scallops & shrimp, fish, more whole-bellied clams than we could count & even a bonus, unexpected crabcake. After sharing the starters, two of us couldn't finish. A walk through the shop after eating continued to impress. Load of prepared items, all manner of local, fresh seafood, huge pools of lobster. On noticing that all of the shrimp were US caught wild & chemical free, I asked if this was true if the kitchen too. So happy to hear it was! While we missed out on them, the extremely knowledgable fishmonger said they often fly in fresh shrimp from the Carolina's on the weekends as well. We'll definitely be making the trip back here to try those, pickupsome fresh fish & to eat more from the delicious kitchen!

As a native New Englander, I don't say this lightly: this was one of the best seafood meals we've…read morehad in a very long time. Phenomenal oysters and shrimp; seared tuna was stellar! We made the rookie mistake of showing up without a reservation on a Tuesday night, and the restaurant was packed. The hostess, who was in training, handled the situation with such poise. She was warm, thoughtful, and transparent about the 45-minute wait, which we genuinely appreciated. What really set the tone, though, was Will. I later learned he was one of the owners, but you never would have guessed it. He wasn't standing back overseeing the dining room; instead, he was in it, working just as hard as everyone else. He welcomed us personally, empathized, and even offered us a cocktail while we waited. As we sat nearby, we watched him gently coach the hostess in training. There was humor, kindness, and encouragement, balanced with clear expectations: simple reminders like making sure every guest is greeted the moment they walk through the door. It was leadership by example. He carried himself with humility, intention, and a work ethic that he clearly models for his entire team. Watching those interactions made me appreciate the restaurant even before we sat down to eat. By the end of the meal, the wait didn't matter one bit. In fact, after experiencing both the hospitality and the food, we completely understood why the restaurant was full on a Tuesday night. The service was exceptional. I'll update this review once I remember our server's name because she absolutely deserves recognition. She was attentive, incredibly hardworking, and gracefully managed not only our table but the many families with children around us. The manager also stopped by to check on us, and it felt entirely sincere. The model started at the top and was clearly part of their ethos. They were so generous which is why we recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area! The food was every bit as impressive as the service. The shrimp cocktail featured some of the largest, freshest shrimp I've had in years--perfectly chilled and absolutely delicious. The oysters were impeccably fresh and beautifully presented. Every dish reinforced why New England seafood has the reputation it does. Great restaurants serve great food. Exceptional restaurants create a culture that guests can actually feel. This place does both. We'll absolutely be back--and next time, we'll be smart enough to make a reservation.

The two other friends I was dining with got their food and ate it and said it was ok. ( shrimp plate and fish tacos). The waitress asked when ordering if we wanted peppers with our clamboil and we said on the side. Three meals came out ( missing my clam boil) and my friends clamboil was filled with peppers and even the clam broth. Our waitress said my boil was on the way out and proceeded to go to kitchen. I asked her to talk and she ignored me. My friend wanted to return hers to the kitchen to get no hot peppers. When the waitress came out- she proceeded to give a clamboil to another table. So here I sit with no food. When asked to get my friend the right dinner she said cook was new and didn't know what we wanted.! She took my friends clamboil back and came out with one still wrong. Still sitting with no food. By then the two friends who had there food was done and my friend and I still had no food. I called the waitress over and said we were leaving and she said ok. No integrity and still continued to blame cook, but she was ignoring us and hiding in the kitchen and waiting on other tables. So sad because I frequently used to eat here before I moved away and was very excited to go there. No manager around. Another thing- we were given take out menus to look at- no real menus??!! Aweful experience!
