Umm.. the mermaid theme is very cutesy. They could do a lot more with it to make it appealing to GenZ. I love that you can sit outside and have a view of the dirty smelly river. Truly, chefs kiss. Obviously they cannot control the river but it's nauseating smelling that water while you're trying to eat and then seeing everything that floats by lol. We had front row seats by choice and decided to move rather quickly once we smelled the fishy smell of the river. Like I get the vision, but it's taunton... no way you can have a NICE water view at a restaurant lol. Food was just ok. Drinks were just ok. Wouldn't go back.

This one was tough... a nice Friday lunch that looked good, great parking and unique menu. We went for the steak tips, fish and chips and buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. The steak was cooked literally perfect. Super tender with an amazing char. The flavor definitely depends on your preference as it has strong pepper flavor. The mashed potatoes were dry and warm/cold when brought out. The fish was fresh and literally just out of the fryer. It was sadly pouring oil still. It definitely could have drained better. The Mac and cheese was good underneath but the top was dry and hard. We tried the dessert. I went with the banana cream pie and was told no because it's "too soupy" so I went with churros which were good. We also went with the chocolate cookie skillet which was under cooked and super soggy. While waiting for dessert the manager comes to the from and starts spraying half a can of the strongest smelling floral febreeze on all the fake trees and plants. This almost caused a migraine for one of us and an asthma attack for another! I've never seen this happen before EVER. When we asked her to stop she asked if we wanted to move and that she couldn't smell anything which was IMPOSSIBLE. That did not affect the score although really weird. The food was hit or miss but for the prices being charged this was a major letdown.

Love the ambience of this restaurant. Been here twice now. It gets really busy and you can only book reservations for 6+ people so expect a wait unless you arrive early!!! Service is always great and food is really good! I got a burger and everything was perfect!

Party of 3. We came on a Saturday night & had a wait time of about 30 minutes. For appetizers we started with the pretzel charcuterie board (new & delicious!!) buffalo chicken rangoons & a cup of the stuffed pepper soup. The apps were delicious & did not disappoint! For the entree we all opted for the River house pasta caesar salad with grilled chicken, great portion sizes. For Dessert we ordered the make your own smores & chocolate chip cookie skillet both were excellent. The s'mores is great for a group of people! The food was great & so was the service! Our server was friendly & prompt refilling our drinks as needed. Will definitely be back.

I recently went to dinner at Riverhouse with a friend and we couldn't have been happier with the service, food and ambiance. The Mac & Cheese was SO good - highly recommend topping it with buffalo chicken! The outdoor area is adorable. Would recommend this spot, for sure!!

Went to Riverhouse in Taunton tonight and it was amazing! Our server Cyndi was so wonderful. My sister in law is here from Fl and really wanted the clam special. Cyndi went out of her way to make sure she got them. Very attentive to all of our needs. We were in the igloo and I am sure she had tables inside as well. We started with margarita flights and mimosa flights. They were so good. The food was just as awsome! Bacon wrapped in bacon as an appetizer, Meatloaf, Crispy chicken sandwich, chop salad with steak tips and almond crusted sweet chili salmon. All cooked perfectly! We will be back.

I have been wanting to try the Riverhouse since they opened but never had the opportunity. My friend and I finally decided to give them a try after seeing a post with a pretzel charcuterie board which combined some of our favorite snack items. When arriving I thought the restaurant was nicely decorated, greatly set up and inviting. I loved the nautical mermaid theme. The staff were incredible, super attentive and very helpful with suggestions. Which is why it's hard to make a not so stellar review. I cannot say anything bad about the service or the atmosphere. My complaints are with the food and drinks. We enjoyed the appetizer but it was standard Sysco delivered product, heated and served which included pre-cut cubed cheese, frozen soft pretzel, meat, dill pickles, jarred queso, yellow mustard and spicy mustard. Nothing you couldn't find at a grocery store to make yourself and nothing of restaurant quality to warrant the price we paid for it. We also decided to get margarita flights which they are known for. I love a good margarita so I was looking forward to trying the different flavors. I was surprised when they arrived the color was pale and lacking. You couldn't even distinguish which was which except for the traditional which looked like water. I ordered original, watermelon, blood orange and blackberry. So I was expecting the glasses to look yellow, orange, bright pink & purple (wine color). They all looked baby pink and tasted nothing like the fruits mentioned above. I actually told my friend they all taste like Robetussin cough syrup. Then for our meal, I order the meatloaf sandwich that came with fries. It was simply lacking all flavor, mushy and not good. We decided to treat ourselves with dessert so I saved room and only ate half of my meal. We both ordered the special dessert of the night which was crème brûlée cheese cake. It was totally not what I expected. I truly thought the cheese cake was going to have a crunchy top brûléed shell. Instead it was a slice of frozen cheese cake where the kitchen just torched and burned the top. I didn't even finish it. This place has great potential but needs to rework their menu with a good chef and mixologist. I really wanted to like this place but until something changes, I will not be returning.

They drive in to the fish market a few times a week and bring it into the store. There is a display case for fresh fish and of course they cook it up to order. I got the fisherman platter which included fish and chips, perfectly cooked fried nice and crispy fries, with fried clams and fried scallops. Fries were perfect and came with a nice little coleslaw cup too. Couldn't finish it! My buddy got a baked stuff lobster and that took a few minutes. It was stuffed with scallops! We sat outside at one of two little tables. It was a nice day, very pleasant out and quiet a few locals came in to grab take out. The place is well regarded. The owner's dad was cooking, and his girlfriend Kathy I believe ran the counter and both were super nice to talk to. Told us their story. Everyone has one and it's always nice to hear how people come to do what they are doing. Very small store and other than the 2 tables outside it's take-out. Has a case with some items and T shirts. I almost bought one, but they didn't have any XL today. It's located in a little plaza not far from Attleboro that has the Chartley Country store. Today we had the opportunity to visit the Taunton location for a bereavement luncheon after a family funeral, and I was truly impressed. The luncheon was held in a beautiful private room upstairs that was set up perfectly for our gathering. Everything was elegant, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. The meal was served family-style buffet, and every dish was outstanding. The quality of the food was exactly what we've come to expect from La Familia--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming and attentive to everyone's needs, yet never rushed our group. Considering the emotional circumstances of the day, their kindness and professionalism meant a lot to all of us. And I have to mention the bread--whoever makes it deserves special recognition. I would happily buy a loaf or two every week if I could. A sincere chef's kiss to the entire establishment and especially the function team who handled our event so beautifully. La Familia continues to prove why it's such a special place for our family.

Four-month-old modern looking authentic Chinese eatery in a Route 140 shopping center offering…read moredumplings, noodles, dim sum dishes, and a slew of authentic Sichuan entrees. Spacious seating, with many booths and a long bar. Reasonable pricing, with all but a few items under $20. Easy parking. Seafood Pastry: Unique item, flaky outer shell (think phyllo dough), and a moist filling with chunks of softer seafood, with shrimp the predominant flavor. Good mouthfeel, good flavor, and something new. Fried Pork Buns: A favorite dish of mine, and theirs are unique in that there's much more meat, the meat is incredibly tender, and the filling doesn't separate from the buns. Nice thin lacy "skirt" that forms from contact with the frying surface. Good flavor, good texture (browned bao dough different from Peking ravioli), great dish. Elite. Soup Dumplings: Perfectly cooked, perfectly filled (pork and slurpable soup), and good flavor. Served with a different soy-based dipping sauce from the pork buns. Really no negative here, but nothing distinguishing from other good ones I've had. Pork with Sweet Bean Sauce: Shredded strands of stir-fried pork with a sweet bean sauce. Think hoisin sauce but not quite as sweet. Some strips of greenery provide flavor and texture contrast to this 99% meat dish. Served with four pancakes similar to mooshi for do-it-yourself wraps. Solid item as long as you like sweet. Twice Fried Pork: One of my "barometer" dishes I try at any first-time visit to a Sichuan restaurant, and Time Travel knocked it out of the park. Bacony strips on the cusp of crisp with great flexibility to match the alluring flavor. Thin-cut leeks for extra complexity and contrast, perfectly worked into the mix. Appealing heat that tingled with every bite, but wasn't trying to blow your face off. The perfect mix of flavor and heat, and of meat and vegetable. Easily elite and my favorite dish so far. Boiled Beef in Spicy Broth: Some of the most velvety, tender beef I ever had, boiled or not. The sauce it was sitting in had plenty of heat and flavor throughout, though not as spicy as it looked. Dried chilies, minced garlic and cilantro added to the equation if desired. Stunning and a dish I'll return to for sure. Veggie Dumplings: Tender green exterior and a soft and tasty interior of tofu and mushrooms. Good mouthfeel, much different from crumbly veggie dumplings. Asparagus Lettuce Salad: A cold item with a tall mound of long, thin, shaved strips they're calling asparagus, but technically it's a Chinese vegetable called celtus. Crisp and refreshing, with hints of vinegar and hot oil, and way more than a hint of garlic. Scallion Pancake: Very good batter flavor, great crispness, and light enough to not fill you up before the entrees. Even though the sauce didn't have ginger, it's darker and thicker than most, and a little tangy. Garlic Wings: Their standard wings, tossed in the same sauce they use for Garlic Eggplant. Tasty stuff, even inside. Saucing a little spicy but mostly sweet. Sizzling Fish in Spicy Oil: A gigantic bowl and an absolute bargain, with the fish large, tender, and infused with the spicy oil. Thin sauce, brothy texture, and not as oily as most. Plenty of dried chiles. Very enjoyable. Eggplant in Garlic Sauce: Bright purple vegetable, likely fried (without batter) to get them bacony crisp on the outside, while lusciously tender inside. It's loaded with little garlic bits, thick, and more sweet than garlicky, making it approachable for American palates. Spicy and Sour Potatoes: Solid rendition, with matchstick-like shreds of droopy but al dente potato, with both heat and sourness present, but less sour than most. Taro Puff Pastry: This is an absolute must at the end of the meal. Served hot, crispy, flaky and with a mildly sweet hot taro filling. I can't imagine a superior version. Service: This was another strong suit, handled by two young, affable men who doubled as kitchen staff. You've got to love having a server who not only brings you the food but who also has a hand in making it and who knows the menu firsthand, able to answer questions about ingredients and dish composition. Great guys. If you're looking for something authentic, fresh, and different, without going to Chinatown, this is an exciting new place that's worth a drive.
