All the food we ate is great! We eat there at least once a week sometimes more. The food is delicious!

We were long time customers every week for a while Stopped in for fish and chips. Fish was RAW and my wife's plate was full of grease . Told girl at window she said sorry/ We just spent $30 I asked for the owner Mannies number and she said give me your number he will call you. He did call and asked who was cooking when Itold him he said I always have to after him for that. I explained in this day and age its not good to not take care of your regulars and he agreed Said he was on vacation and would take care of us he had my number. Eat at Seafood Hut probably once a week or so. Never disappointed and I've ordered just about every item on the menu at one time or another. Seafood portions are not huge but just enough for me. The chowder is my favorite in the area. read more

Definitely a hit or miss type of restaurant, more often a miss, last meal was either over cooked or previously cooked and reheated, fisherman platter was greasey and totally dried out, there's no consistency in getting a good meal and at the prices of food these days, the cooking shows it was either rushed out or not payed attention to and just cooked with indifference to the quality given to the customer, too bad because they can really serve up some great seafood.!!!!!!! read more

The food is somewhat tasty but what ruins it is that they only use fish snips just very small tail ends of fish rather than the whole piece! They pay less for it but you're not getting a sizable piece of fish to enjoy. They really need to change that in order to bring more customers in! Too bad. read more

I call the store at 1130 i work at a daycare my break was at 12 i walked over to get my food yes i came 30 minutes after but both my food was cold and i called about the chicken tenders after the fact so they would have been more fresh then mines i open the box to a little thing of clams and a few fries and food was soggy and cold then open up the chicken tenders and they were the same called back about a refund they told me i cant get one because i came 30 minutes after they were done the least they can do is remake it for me like instead of remaking just give me the 30 dollars that i spend on soggy and wet food.Thank you will never eat here again all set read more

Tried for the first time today because when we drive by, it's always busy. The portions aren't huge, but I personally believe in quality over quantity. I got the lobster roll with fries and the roll had plenty of chunky lobster and the fries were hot and tasty. Got my order for four people home. One of the orders was wrong. Happened to be mine. I called to inform them of the mistake and see if I could get my correct order. However, I was told it was impossible that my order was incorrect because they remembered putting the correct food in the bag. I said that's impossible, because I don't have what I ordered. I was again told they remembered putting my order in my bag. That's two implications now from the staff that I have been lying about an incorrect order. I again insisted that my order was wrong. They said they would cook the correct meal again if I could be there soon. I could, so I drove the five minutes to retrieve my correct order. Upon my arrival, I noticed a man who was there when I originally ordered had returned just like I did. Common sense informed me that this man had received my order, and I his. Asking him confirmed that our orders had indeed been switched. Great news! Now the staff has no choice but to believe that our orders had accidentally been switched, right? WRONG. The other gentleman promptly received his correct order and left. No sooner did he leave than the chef came to the window AND asked if that man and I were together. ANOTHER IMPLICATION THAT I WAS RUNNING SOME SORT OF SCAM TO GET A FREE PLATE OF FOOD, AND THIS STRANGER AND I WERE IN CAHOOTS! I could have made a scene right then and there, but all I wanted at this point was my correct order and to eat with my family (all of whom had already finished eating since my order took another fifteen minutes after my second arrival to get to the window). Finally, my order arrived at the window and I left. But do you know what was missing with my order? AN APOLOGY FOR THE ACCUSATIONS. Not one of the at least four staff members inside, who were all aware of the mix-up at this point, thought to apologize, if nothing else, at least for the inconvenience. The owner should seriously think about training his staff to not only pay attention to what goes where (mistakes happen from time to time, I get it), but to treat the customers with respect and not accusations! First time me & hubby went there after driving by it for years we finally decided to try it. I don't eat seafood but I know that seafood places usually at least have other things to offer, like : chicken or beef stuff. But he wanted fish & chips, plus we got one for my Mum, I got a cheeseburger and bacon cheese fries. We must've gotten there at the right time cause there was only 1 or 2 customers there when we showed up. We didn't have to wait long, after ordering we maybe only waited 10-15 mins., not bad at all. By the time we was leaving there was already about 8 cars pulled up. (Perfect timing.) But ... so we get home with it and seen the food it was "OK", but definitely not spectacular. The sandwich tasted good but was small. Bacon cheese fries also "OK", nothing great, nothing compared to Buster's in Dartmouth or even Palace Pizza's (Buster's being the best), a little pricey for what you get. And my husband and Mum said the fish & chips being "alright." Again, Buster's in Dartmouth has a very good fish & chips. But it was all "OK." I've been going to Seafood Hut, since before it was Seafood Hut (Skip and Mel's) and have always enjoyed the food. I have literally spent thousands of dollars there throughout the years, but after my latest experience, I will never spend another dime there. On Thursday 4/13/23 @6pm, I tried to call to place an order. The girl that answered the phone, rudely told me to wait (not asked). She then hung up on me. I then tried calling back several times to get nothing but ringing, followed by voicemail. I then drove there to place my order, to get greeted by the same female that answered the phone (I remembered the voice). "She asks are you ordering?" No sooner did I reply yes, she rudely cut me off and said, "well I have all these orders and more orders keep coming in, so I'm not taking yours". This was at 6:20. I didn't say two words, walked away, and I will never return. Note to manager from someone who previously managed restaurants, conduct a quality check on your employees, because you'll only lose more customers if you don't. On my drive I Called to make phone order, was on hold for 6 min . Arrived at seafood hut... I asked at the teenager at window . How she wanted to take my order in person or on the phone. She chuckled and said sorry note to manager sincerity is usually without a giggle at the end . The girls on the front window should have attention to detail. Got my food with no extra tartar . And 1/6 clam cakes were raw in the middle ,was more like a cake because all of the clams must of crawled out as soon as it hit fryer. Besides minus the clams and not cooked (clam cake). Great seafood!! My husband got the combo and was surprised at the portion size. I got the small scallop plate which was delicious(I couldn't finish it because the scallops were so big and filling). Tried this place and In all honestly I had high expectations cause I heard so many good things about this place but it didn't live up to my expectations. The portion was nothing compared to what they charge! About $22 for a combo plater with everything and there were barely anything on it!! More fries than anything else. If I wanted to only eat fries I would've just ordered a side of fries. The onion rings were over cooked and so it was so hard. The customer service wasn't great either. The wife and I have been frequenting this fine establishment regularly for the past several months. We have nothing but great things to say about this little gem. The fish and chips are excellent, their clam cakes are fried to a crispy outside/pillowy inside perfection (I refer to them as "crack" cakes,) a killer buffalo shrimp wrap, tuna wrap, as well. You'll be doing yourself a great injustice if you limit yourself to the seafood. Their burgers are tasty, the fries are ok. My son is a fan of the Caesar chicken wrap. The staff is awesome. We've been guilty more than once of calling in an order too close to closing, yet where others places cop a bad attitude, they're pleasant/cheerful. They have a limited selection of ice cream, too!
