I ordered fish and chips like I have done so many times before as always expected from me, I expected a nice big piece of fish with french fries instead for the first time I got frozen pieces of fish that now I have the runs very disappointing not what I was expecting unfortunately they CUT corners Most people don't mind paying if they got the right product as always I will never recommend them again. I will never be back there. Whatever happened to me has never happened before and I expect everyone to take this seriously simply because I've always. Bayside Lounge was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The appetizers are where they really shined. The loaded tots were indulgent in the best way...but I can't see how you could mess that up. The crab cakes were packed with flavor, and the chowder was rich and comforting too. You lost me at the country chicken, though. It threw me off because It had a strange, almost fishy taste to it, and I couldn't tell if it was the frying oil or just the seasoning. Either way, it was hard to get past. My partner tried the Mozambique and said it was good, but not quite at the level you'd expect from a standout dish. The bayside is a bar/restaurant. The food is great. The issue with me is it can be kind of noisy if you want to relax while you eat. One great point is they are "Family" friendly so the patrons do not use vulgar language or they are asked to leave. Not something you see in a bar. Best for a couple. I eat at the bar but they do have tables out back and a music area as well. They've been in business a long time so they are doing something right. read more

Had the Clamboil today. At $14 I shouldn't complain but, here's the truth! I've had them here before and they were good. Today was not so good. The clams were very sandy and tasteless. The sausages and hot dog were saugy. The linguica was fatty, tough and undercooked. The potato, corn and onion were OK. The beer was cold and fresh and the service was personal and excellent! Nobody came in or left with masks on and I mean nobody! Remember, it's that kind of place. It wasn't a good day, but I know I'll give them another shot. read more

Got take-out, 1st time having food from there. Very impressed. Very yummy. And with the whole curb-side pick-up because of the pandemic it was very easy. Several times I've ordered from them online. Over the past few months however- every time I try to order they cancel my order with no explanation. Not sure if they're busy, closed, can't make what I'm ordering off the menu or what but maybe consider removing yourself from ordering apps if you're going to consistently cancel people's orders. Honestly the only thing I like on the menu is the linguiça egg rolls. I ordered (delivery): linguica egg rolls, crab cakes, loaded tots and clam boil. The linguica egg rolls were my favorite. They were delicious without the dipping sauce, but the sauce was tasty too, loaded with linguica and cheese. Crab cakes were good, not the best ones I've ever had but still good, tots were good also. Clam boil was well seasoned, came with clarified butter and broth, I asked for no sausage and an extra hot dog if possible. They left out the sausage as requested but did not give an extra hot dog, clams were a little sandy but honestly I was born and raised in S.E. mass and haven't found a single place that can clean clams well. Won't be back. I ordered takeout for the first and last time. I spent close to $50 for a lobster roll, pizza and fried pickles app. The lobster roll was ok but who puts dill in lobster salad? Yuk. Pickles were decent and plentiful. The pizza went in the trash. Linguica, onion and mushroom - absolutely flavorless! It was bland beyond belief. Put some cheese on a piece of cardboard and you'd have the same taste. Save your money and go elsewhere. The place looks dingy and disgusting. read more

One of the best townie bars in town! Tonight we had fish and chips and chicken tenders. For our apps we had jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks. Boyfriend could taste that the mozz sticks were fried with the jalapeño and they were spicy. He wasn't happy about that. (I thought it was perfect but i love spicy) The chicken tenders were small but a good portion overall. Fish and chips were good portion esp for the price!! Service was well paced. I just had my dinner delivered to me via GH. It's the first time I've had Bayside..and omg. So good. They're burgers are a little on the high side but ...its HUGE. I was ravenous and I couldn't finish it. I also loved that it came as I asked (medium rare), because that often doesnt happen with other places. I ordered the fried pickles. They were yummy. They also gave me a side of fries. So good; I love fries that have that crusty coating. Yum. Next time I'll pick up- delivery fees plus tip made it ridiculous...but takeout would be worth it. read more

I wasn't expecting much when I pulled in here for a paint night. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The bartender, Amanda was amazing. She was busy but kept your glass full and brought your food out in a timely manner. The steamers were great and so were the fried clams. Decent portion sizes and reasonable prices. The regulars were all really friendly, the paint night was fun and everyone's painting came out nice. A highly enjoyable evening. I would definitely recommend going here. read more

Bayside Lounge is one of my favorite places to order lunch. The kitchen turns out huge portions of perfectly cooked homemade food. Every day there is a whiteboard of specials - I've only ordered off his regular menu a few times. The last time I went, my friend and I both ordered the cacoila sandwich ($6.95 I believe.) It was my friends first time going, and she was floored by the portions. First the waitress brought us soup/chowder. I had a Beef Soup that was packed with vegetables, pasta and beef. My friend had the clam chowder and she said it was delicious. Right as we finished our soup, 2 huge plates came out. With a giant salad on the plate, an overwhelming amount of French fries, you would like the sandwich would be skimpy. NOT AT ALL! The Portuguese pop was packed with small pieces of cacoila cooked medium (like we can requested) that were very tender. The salad was nothing fancy - fresh iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion & peppers with a house Italian dressing - but crisp and refreshing. The French fries were the home cut style and piping hot. I was surprised at what a great dent my friend put into the plate! Our waitress was good - we did not see her that often because she also was serving patrons at the bar around the corner. So I suggest to be patient. However, when we asked for our bill, she had it to us in seconds. Another friend went to Trivia Night on Thursday and ordered the mozzarella sticks appetizer. I believe she said the price was around $5. Usually you would expect about 6 mozzarella sticks - NOT at Bayside - a huge platter of 12 came out! Great food. Beyond cheap prices. HUGE PORTIONS! Went here the other day to play trivia. If you are a trivia addict like me, this is a good place to go because there was I think only nine teams. I have never eaten here, to me, this a place for drinks, not food. The only drawback is that I felt it took a long time to get our second round of drinks, but she was pleasant when she finally got around to me. I think that we can all agree that it's incredibly frustrating to have to wait that long for drinks. The décor here is non-existent, but again to ME it's a place for drinks not food. read more

This place has cheap and delicious food. You can get a prime rib dinner with soup, salad, and french fries for $10. I loved it but the service stunk! I went back another time and tried their sirlion steak w' two fried shrimp for $12. This meal also included soup and salad. Again the waitress was terrible, and it was a different lady. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR MANY REASONS. I ordered threw grubhub; a delivery app and waited 2 hours for my food.. BECAUSE bayside didn't check the name on the bag that they gave to a different delivery driver. So I call to talk to whoever is in charge and he was SO rude. Tells me it's not my fault it's the drivers fault. Then my actual delivery driver arrives with my food after waiting for 2 hours and he says 'when they handed me one bag with 3 items I knew it was the wrong order so I said it wasn't the correct order and the guy in charge yelled at me." My order had 7 items so he knew it'd be more than 3 boxes. So..I get the food and the lobster roll was just lobster in a bun, no mayonnaise and it also tasted rotten. My coleslaw tasted rotten too, took one bite and involuntary spit it out. And my soda was flat and very watered down. It was my first and will absolutely be my last time ordering there. We have been to the bayside many times to see my friend bill mulligan play. The food and service are always poor to say the least. Half the time they are out of their specials. Service is very slow. Last night it took over 75 minutes to get our food and we did not get all of the items we ordered. Most of our friends now eat across the street at macs before going there. I am always a very generous tipper, but last night she got nothing. And she was the better of the 2 waitresses! Not worth the aggravation. read more

A few of my musician friends and I dropped in on a Friday afternoon at about 4:30. Grabbed a (rare) table, and settled in for a few beers. A band was setting up their equipment, and we decided to stay for food. INCREDIBLE portions, and INCREDIBLY low prices!!!! Clams, chowder, steak & shrimp (my choice), fish, fries. How do they stay in business with such large portions/low prices??? Outstanding! Now, the band. Three talented, friendly musicians; Smooth harmonies, great selection of tunes. We spanned ages from 30s to 60s. EVERY song was fun to listen to. As the free tables filled up, and stayed so, we had no doubt about the draw...the great food value, and the music... this lounge is a "hidden gem". The band, "Three for All" announced that they're entertaining once a week! We're coming back (hungry!) as often as we can... bringing our friends...love this place!! read more
