It was a foggy, damp, cold end of March night and Moby Dick was the warm sunshine I was looking forward to in Spring! What a find! From the moment I walked in, the cozy, friendly service and the tastebud tantalizing menu soothed my souls through and through! Touching on service, there was no shortage of knowledge and friendliness to be found at this whaler's ward side tavern and the smiles from the girls made me feel like I was walking into a Cheers bar! Your typical brewery ambience, comfy bar stools, old friends having a few beers and laughing in the background led me to believe I had found the right spot! A quick look at the specials menu and I knew the fried okra and New England clam chowder was a must to start with! I splurged and tried their Belgian Quad, though I am not a beer drinker, I found it absolutely delicious! I even ordered a second! Feeling good now, I ordered one of their perfectly juicy and flavorful burgers, a little beer cheese and fries on the side and I was as big as a whale swimming out of there! Do yourself a favor, just an hour outside of Boston is this fabulous find, come see the quaint whaling village of New Bedford and stop in a Moby Dick's! The girls will make you feel right at home and you will have a "whale of a good time"!

Great place to stop after a long day at the whaling museum next door. It's very open inside and feels like a typical modern restaurant with the word "brewing" in its name. Truffle fries were good (made with truffle oil) and so was the calamari. Service was a little slow, however.

Crab Rangoon pizza 9/10. Heated up well next day

We stopped in to only have a flight, but ended up ordering lunch too and glad we did! The beers were amazing and true to their flavor profile. The pretzels were a 10/10. Crisp outside with a soft center. I prefer mustard with my pretzels, but not anymore! Their cheese dip was perfect. We ordered the crab Rangoon pizza, ate a slice and took rest back to our place. Tasted great out of the oven the next day as well. Must try! I ordered the Mussel app. They were clean and the sauce was perfect pairing. I rarely buy merch from places but I bought a hat and shirt. So, it was good food and beer!

Steak tips were perfect and service was excellent! Great selection of beers on draft. A good place to watch the game as well.

Server was great, the place has a ton of seating and a nice vibe. The food was ok, nothing really stood out. We had the nachos with the pulled pork on the side. Tasty. The New England clam chowder was interesting, sort of a riff on the traditional but was pretty bland. The turkey pot pie and the salads were fine. We did not try any of the beers, but they had a great selection with lots of varieties. Worth going back to try some, and maybe a couple of the apps.

Moby Dick's Brewing is located in the historic district of New Bedford. The service was quick and kind, we had the pretzels and beer cheese to eat and got a couple of beers. The pretzels were fresh and delicious, with a tasty beer cheese. The two beers were both good and the ambiance was great. Nice street side (not busy,) outdoor seating available. I like the vibe and the food and beer. I will definitely return.

I came across this place as I was strolling around the neighborhood. It was a good choice. The ambiance is pretty chill. The hostess was nice from the moment you walked in. I ordered to-go since I had to get back to my hotel to get dressed for an event. I ordered the fish and chips, it had the right amount of crisp from the fish to the chips. I also ordered the braised short ribs that came with mash and Brussels sprouts. Everything was well done. The braised short ribs were tender and the mash was done perfectly. Now the Brussels sprouts were simply amazing. Done to perfection not soggy but perfect. Everything was great except they forgot my kid's drink. Just please be aware next time.

update: we visited again a year later and it was so so much better! first, the staff was great! we were seated early for our reservation and the host was very kind, but i have to say our waitress was great. i hate that i can't remember her name because i would have loved to shout her out - super sweet, attentive, and quick! although it is quite loud in here, i didn't find that that impacted our experience much, just a little hard to hear but the place is nice and has a clean look to it! now for food: we started off with the buffalo chicken dip + tortilla chips which was delicious! i loved that the chips were so fresh and complimented the velvety, not over spicy or overpowering, dip perfectly. for my entree, i ordered the new england baked scallops. i was a bit apprehensive because they looked a little bit watery but they were pretty good, the ritz crumb topping was super enjoyable. i really liked the mashed potatoes and absolutely loved the butternut squash. overall, a really nice experience and i would definitely visit again!

Its in a nice little spot, there was plenty of parking and the space is clearly new which you notice in a nice clean newly paved parking lot. I like when I walked in- there is a small entry - you're not thrown into a big space. I wasn't expecting table service at a brewery - even with a full menu - that was a nice surprise. Our server did have a slight lag where we were thinking wheeerrrrrre did he go? But the rest of the night he was on top of things. I ordered poutine and a couple of beers. The poutine was good - I like shoestring fries. But I have one beloved former RI restaurants poutine taking up too big a space in my heart still, and this didn't quite hit that. But it was a good snack. Great serving size. We sat in a small alcove with like 4 - 4 top tables. I dig the decorations. Christmas lights are festive and fun. The bar looked decently busy for a wednesday evening - but the acoustics inside work well and it didn't feel noisy or distracting. I got the Cohesive (American IPA) and def enjoyed it. Balanced, not too hoppy, crisp.

There's bar seating, tables, outdoor space, and even fire pits, and the overall atmosphere is spot on. We didn't love our particular table - we were seated right where people line up to order beer, so it felt like they were basically standing at our table. If I went back, I'd probably ask to sit somewhere else or just grab a seat at the bar. The beer was decent, with about 8-10 varieties on tap. You can tell this is a local favorite. What a great place to meet up and connect with friends! Definitely worth checking out.

Found a table indoors (outdoor seating available as well) with ample room for all five of us including dolls, cards, and toys. I ordered a Bloody Mary made with a local alcoholic seltzer which was a great drink but also a significant appetizer with all the fixings. I ordered the "Luca Brazi" sandwich which was excellent and took home half the sandwich for dinner tonight. *Important footnote...I NEVER have leftovers when I order dinner. I ALWAYS eat EVERYTHING!! I highly recommend if you are a tourist (or a local) take the two block walk from visiting The Plymouth Rock and enjoy a great meal and drinks at THE VITAMIN SEA RESTAURANT!!

It…read morewas founded by business partners Dino Funari, Pete Kiley, Josh Sherman and Richard DiBona. Funari, Kiley and Sherman frequently got together on weekends to embrace their love of homebrewing. After doing this for a number of years, and building up a local following distributing their home-brews from a blue cooler, they decided to open a brick & mortar brewery and taproom. At this time, DiBona came on board as a partner and assisted with the search for a location. After exausting all options in the seaside town of Hull, the partners acquired a 3,000-sq-ft space in the "craft beer friendly" town of Weymouth. The name "Vitamin Sea" was chosen to reflect Funari's love of surfing and surf culture. The brewery quickly gained a reputation for their juicy New England IPAs, decadent Stouts, and experimental Fruited Sours. A second location opened along the waterfront in Plymouth in May 2024. I recently visited Vitamin Sea's Plymouth location while I was in town for the day. I was scheduled to meet up with some other beer bloggers at a different brewery later. I soon realized that Plymouth has an excellent craft beer scene and decided to head to Vitamin Sea first. The Plymouth facility is a beautiful location along the waterfront. I really liked the nautical/surf design theme too! I grabbed a seat at the bar and began to look over the menu. I heard that the Plymouth location is known for their excellent ciabatta sandwiches, so I ordered the "Parm to Table" (oven-roasted chicken cutlet, house-made marinara, melted mild & aged provolone, Parmesan, whipped lemon ricotta, basil on toasted ciabatta). It was the BEST chicken cutlet sandwich I've ever had in my life! What made it stand apart from other sandwiches? The whipped lemon ricotta! I washed it down with a pour of "Currency Check" (Double New England IPA), followed by "Mexican Blanket" (Imperial Stout). The beer, like the food, was fantastic! I must also point out that the staff were so friendly, knowledgable, and helpful throughout my visit. I highly recommend Vitamin Sea Brewing and look forward to visiting their Weymouth location!
