This was my first time at sail loft and it was great. The service was top notch and the food was tasty. It's cute inside but a reservation is definitely a good idea as it was quite crowded. The drinks that we tried were all quite tasty. The calamari was good. The fried chicken Caesar wrap was great. It didn't have croutons so beware if you're looking for that, but it had great flavor. I was a little hesitant to have the peanut butter thing cheesecake as I don't know why you'd stray from the peanut butter thing. Last week was my first time visiting this wonderful place! The daffodil farm was close by so we decided to go to lunch at the Sail Loft in cozy Padanaram harbor. It opened at 11:30 so we arrived close to that time, with no reservation. The decor was beautiful and with a fresh nautical feel. We were greeted warmly when we walked in the door and seated right away by the window with a view of the harbor and boats. Our waitress came over right away and gave us our menus - three of them. One was a regular menu, one was lunch specials, and I think the other one was for Chef's selections. I ordered the Chicken Carbonara on the lunch menu and it was amazing! The portion was just enough and was very flavorful and fresh. My friends had chicken Caesar salad and a mixed bowl (not sure about this one). I didn't take pics of our food because we all just dove right in, but I DID take a picture of our dessert. OMG it was bread pudding with fresh whipped cream and ice cream - soooo good!! The place filled up pretty quickly by the time we left it was full. The prices were reasonable and the wine was just fine! Going to Sail Loft on Saturday night is an adventure. Going without a reservation is madness! Packed with happy diners! Iordered the Tuna Tartare for my appetizer and it was fantastic... lottsa tuna and cuke and avocado, plenty of wontons. I could have ended my dining experience with that (or maybe ordered a second Tuna Tartare for my meal), but the Baja Tacos caught my eye. They were great, a definite favorite now. read more

Recently dined there to celebrate a friend's birthday. The ambiance has a nice vibe. The decor is nautical. I've never been in that area which is called the Panamanian village which looks like a shopping area. The service is very good. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Our server whose name escape me was a delight. The food is very good with selections both for sea and land enthusiasts. They have specials for appetizers happy hour. One of the appetizers definitely recommend is the whipped feta with beets. Everyone at the table really enjoyed. Whipped feta with cubes of pickled beets served with candied pecans and drizzled with honey for that savory taste combination. Several chose the pan seared sole which was good. Desserts are mostly made in house and were very good. Definitely recommend this establishment during a stop in Dartmouth. read more

The food is always delicious. The service is attentive. The environment is comfortable and perfect for a good conversation.

The atmosphere is terrific. It is on the ocean and this evening the weather was perfect. My wife and I had not been here before. Our waitress (Ashley) was very personable and made some great suggestions. We started w/ drinks (I tried the Bravo Zulu as suggested). It was excellent. We had Wellfleet oysters that were sweet & delicious. For our dinners we had the pineapple glazed steak tips & fish tacos. The fish tacos were very good BUT the steak tips were incredible. They were blackened on the edges but very juicy and so tender, they melt in your mouth. The dish came with mashed potato's that were creamy & delicious. It may sound strange but what put it over the top was the roasted carrots. I could have eaten another dish, although the portion was generous. After dinner we sat and watched the sunset. My wife had a Hugo spritz and I tried an espresso martini but w/ tequila instead of vodka (as my waitress suggested). It was spot on. Fast, friendly service. Great atmosphere and incredible food and drinks. This was one of our best restaurant experiences in a while. They get a 10 out of 10 bc I can't imagine how it could have been better. read more

We were able to get seats at the bar on a busy Saturday night. Very accommodating server who offered samples of beers I was questioning, so 5 stars for that. The food however was just mediocre. Fish tacos were bland and hubby's baked haddock was mushy and also bland so we were disappointed in the food but the overall vibe was good. Servers seemed amiable given the tight quarters of the bar and restaurant. Maybe good for drinks and appetizers but I can't recommend the entrees. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for a little day date and it was cute. He got a flatbread and I got a burger off the happy hour food menu. He got beer and I got a sangria. Unbelievable! We had a wonderful dinner at the bar. Everybody was happy. My wife was there with her Service animal on her lap. The manager comes up to us and says that that's not allowed. She educated him on what the ADA laws were. He walked away in a huff. Then he sends later a bartender over to us to say that we would never be welcomed again, If we were to bring our dog to the bar, A well trained service animal that she needed desperately in the event of an emergency situation. The antagonistic approach and ignorance the manager and the staff is ever reprehensible. This is someone who should be arrested. This is against the law. The was no reason for multiple people to an attack my wife. read more

First time here tonight-- the food was amazing. Everything from appetizer to entrees to dessert. The only disappointing factor was the service. Having worked in the industry - I am always one to give the benefit of the doubt to servers. But this one was just disappointing. Never asked if we wanted another cocktail or checked in to see if we needed anything. Abruptly dropped the check after one drink and our entrees when we were planning to get dessert cocktails. Our grandmother wanted to stay and chat so it was confusing why she wouldn't have wanted to increase her revenue for the night. It otherwise would have been an excellent experience. So good!! We came here for taco Tuesday, as we've tried all the taco Tuesdays in SouthCoast! We loved this spot, the ambiance was adorable, our server Ashley M made our night, she was so friendly and super prompt with service. Tacos were FANTASTIC, by far one of the best taco Tuesdays the SouthCoast has to offer. I got the shrimp, chicken and short rib taco, the shrimp was my favorite but honestly they were all so good. We got a pitcher of margs to share, and ended with carrot cake and crème brûlée which both hit the spot. 10/10, I will absolutely be coming back. read more

My wife and I visited Sail Loft in South Dartmouth today for lunch. We sat outside on a beautiful day to celebrate our 55th anniversary. While we had a reservatipon we did not need it. We had an order of calamari, shared a ceasar salad and a baked haddock with a nice bottle of wine. It all very well prepared and served. And to top it off they comped us dessert on the occasion to take with us as we were full of some of the best and most memorable lunch. read more

Took out of town guests for dinner this past Sunday. Three out of the six of us were disappointed. The baked cod was the worst. Very little fish overloaded with bread crumbs. I asked to substitute mashed for the fingerling potatoes when I ordered. They were cold and lumpy. I didn't eat them. Not what I've been accustomed to at the Silverstein restaurants. I've had the baked cod numerous times at Joe's Original and it was delicious. The carrot, green bean medley was a mix of overcooked and undercooked green beans combined with a few practically raw carrots. Not good at all. We ordered a carrot cake to go. Thanks to Buzzards Bay Brewing's instagram feature we discovered this gem so close to home. We waited a little for dinner on a Friday night which is to be expected. We had a great time observing the bartender and figuring out that we would love to come back sometime just for drinks and half price apps (4-6 every day!!). It finally became our turn to be seated. Off season the seating is limited but in nice weather there is a whole patio and outdoor bar, looks fun. I asked for a drink recommendation off of 2 choices. The waitress highly recommended the watermelon margarita. My husband got a glass of wine. For dinner I tried the Portuguese steak tips and husband got a special of shrimp and chicken Mozambique over pasta. He was a little disappointed with his dish but would come back to try something else. I loved my meal. The sauce was delicious, chips had a crunch and steak pieces were tender.
