Food, drinks, and service were all excellent and deserve genuinely five stars. Two stars for one reason: our bill was automatically added with 12% gratuity but then tipping options of 18/20/22% options as if no gratuity exists. I noticed but tipped another 18% anyway because of good service but found this billing behavior unacceptable. (We were a group of three) Automatic gratuity is fine. I ordered takeout from this Columbian Restaurant. I tried the mojarra frita (fried whole fish - tilapia) and sweet plantains. The plantains were delicious, and the rice was nicely cooked as well. I was less impressed with the fish. It was ok, but was too deeply fried such that the meat was tough. I am also used to having some sort of spice or other sauce on the side to accompany and add to the fish if I want to spice it up - at least that's what I have gotten at every other restaurant where I have bought a whole fish. But alas, no such luck here. I was also disappointed with the presentation. While the rice and plantains were nicely placed in a to go container, instead of going the same for the fish it was simply wrapped in foil and placed inside a paper bag. Because we eat with our eyes (and nose) well before the food touches our taste buds, this wasn't great. Oh well... read more

Best Colombian food in RI! Go with the bandeja or cazuela, my two go-to dishes. The people who work here and service is always awesome too. Pro tip: if you need to go to a party or someones house, bring over an order of the parrillada/grilled meats with some yucca and tostones. Delish! read more

Food/Drinks: One of my favorite spots in Rhode Island. The food is sooo delicious, worth the price, and filling. I love the minibandeja more than enough food for one person, and I can dare to say if you have a small petite you can share it. They also have the regular bandeja that is definitely shareable or for a big back either way you're going to be full. The food is always well cooked and although this is my go to they have plenty of option on the menu. They have a variety of drink options aswell, and the margaritas are my go to, served with decent amount of alcohol, and gives you options for add on with coronas, ect. Location: It's a nice enterior with a side space to also seat people. The attire is casual, and it's pretty spacious usually doesn't have a crazy wait.They do have parking but is a little tight for the not so savvy drivers, but there is also street parking ! Service: Usually service is quick, attentive, and friendly. Overall a great Colombian restaurant that I recommend. read more

I have to say everything I get from this place was delicious! . The chicken empanadas were amazing! So much flavor . I also grab some panes con queso (forgot the name ) so soft and delicious. Also the " pan de bono " uff my favorite. Bread pudding omg reminds me of my childhood. And the red velvet cake was delicious! The service was great , very nice girls over there . It was my first time trying Colombian food, so I was very excited. I had ordered a special that came with Steak, rice, salad, and tostones. I had ordered my steak to be medium, it came out well done and extremely dry and flavorless. The rice felt like a desert, as it was extremely sweet, the salad was just arugula, the tostones were just about the only edible thing on my plate. The waitress we had was also not that attentive as she only came by to take our order and drop off our drinks and food. We had also ordered an appetizer, Empanadas. She had let us know that they only had beef available, I told her that was perfectly fine. We sat there waiting, and waiting, and waiting, till we got our food. A different waitress had came by to ask us if everything was okay, I asked if we could please have our empanadas, she said she would go check up on the empanadas and went completely MIA. We never got our appetizers. They also give water out in bottles. The aesthetic of the overall restaurant was pleasing to the eye, the food looked edible, they can definitely paint a pretty picture. This is my first time trying Colombian cuisine and I was IMPRESSED. I had this catered at work and it was very fresh. I didn't order it, but I did hear the staff made the ordering process easy. My favorite things- Yuca, grilled chicken, and their chips and guacamole. I have never had Yuca before and it was incredible. I don't usually love guacamole, but I could easily eat this by the spoonful. Their grilled chicken was extremely flavorful and not dry at all. The location is on Broad Street, super close by to lots of other restaurants and even others that serve Colombian cuisine, but I think this is the go to! As skeptical I was about my first time having Colombian food, I went back for seconds. I just recommended this place to a friend who loves Colombian food, and I will definitely be coming back here or getting takeout/catering through La Casona again! Whether take out or dine in, food is always amazing. We've never had an issue the multiple times we've eaten here. Parking could be better, on busy nights it gets cramped esp since it's narrow, but other than that, everything is always amazing! What a fabulous place ! Our friend goes here often and was so excited to bring us there. It is authentic Colombian food. There is a decent sized menu and all the portions are huge. The drinks are pretty epic , my friend had a margarita with a tequila shooter in it ! So pretty. The staff is friendly and checked on us often. They take reservations which is good since they seemed to be very busy. If you can ask to sit outside , the patio is beautiful. This would be a great date night spot for sure. We were looking for an authentic Colombian restaurant in Rhode Island and glad we tried La Casona. Since there is a parking lot right next to the restaurant, we had no trouble finding parking. The restaurant has first level, second level, and outside dining, so there is plenty of dining area. The staff are very friendly. We had the mango juice in water and guanábana in milk. The mango juice was good. The guanábana in milk was a little clumpy. We started with the small mondongo, which is tripe soup. The mondongo was very flavorful. For entrees, we had the minibandeja, which includes a choice of steak, pork, chicken or ground beef (I chose steak), with rice, beans, chorizo, fried pork rinds, sweet plantain, corn arepa, and egg. It also came with a side salad. The minibandeja was very good and very filling. My husband had the cazuelitas, which was ground beef with beans, sweet plantains, fried pork rinds, chorizo, and rice. My husband said the cazuelitas he usually has in Colombia has more bean juice. After we finished lunch, we walked over to the bakery that is connected to the restaurant. We had some of their buñuelos and pan de queso. It was very tasty and reminded my husband of home. I'm glad we found this Colombian restaurant in Rhode Island and will be back. read more

Our last visit to La Casona was good. Their menu is varied and they offer many appetizers, entrees, soups, salads and sides. They also have lots of really cool drinks served in big glasses and bowls. These are my impressions from our last dinner: - Empanadas. Crispy and hot, they were the same size they've always been, but priced at $5.50 it's TOO EXPENSIVE. For a little empanada. I get them at other places for less than $2, so that price is way too high. - Strawberry daiquiri. Big glass, sweet, delicious. - Churrasco. Done right. With nice seasonings. A bit salty. The maduros were excellent and the white rice was really good. A bit gooey. - Fish fillet. Was ok. - Hawaiian chicken. Served on a skillet, it was loaded with sauce, so if you like that, this is your dish. - Cuban sandwich. Nice but with lots of mayo. It was hard to taste the chicken. Overall a good Colombian choice in Central Falls. Private parking lot or street parking. read more

Phenomenal! Not sure why the reviews are so low, but I was pleasantly surprised at how great of an experience I had with my family. The food was delicious, I ordered the steak with mushroom sauce, and it came with rice, plantain, and a side salad. They are so generous with their servings, one portion could easily feed two people. I have mixed reviews. I've been several times, and on some occasions, the food and the service has been excellent. Their portions are great. And they have really good drinks. Additionally in the entrance there's another door where they have a little bakery and some hot foods available. However I have ordered different dishes, which didn't taste the same as previously ordered; fish that was overly salty and smothered in sauce (which was requested multiple times on the side) and some not so great service. La Casona was a great spot if your visiting Rhode Island. There's inside seating, patio seating and a covered patio seating. I had the Carne asada with sweet plaintains, rice, sunny side egg, veggies and double sausage instead of the pork belly. Very tasty food, and seasoned appropriately. I've always heard of this place and finally decided to give it a try. I thought the place was very clean and decorated nicely with a lot of space and separation between tables. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The service was pretty quick, I think within 15 minutes our food came out. The beef empanadas are really good; they were warm, had a nice crunch to them and a bit chewy because of it outside but the inside was flavorful and soft. The pico de gallo it came with was a good addition since it was a bit spicy and had some like to balance out the flavors. The main dish was solid. The steak was a bit fatty in some areas which I did not enjoy but it was easy to pick out. The chicharron (pork rind) might have been a bit over cooked since it was dry. The egg was super cute and cooked perfectly. The rice was also good, despite being white rice it had a nice flavor. I'm not sure what the yellow ball was but it didn't have much flavor, it tasted like a ball of corn dough. The sausage was probably my favorite part of the meal since it was tender, had a crunchy outside, and salty. Not pictured: the meal also came with a salad which was shredded lettuce with some pico de gallo on top. It was simple but the lime and salt made it pretty good. It gave the plate a refreshing taste. Also it came with beans which were a bit bland so I didn't each much of them. There's plenty of parking as they have their own parking lot and there's street parking. There's also a bakery, to the left when you enter which offers smaller Colombian treats/snacks/finger foods. I didn't have the opportunity to check it out but might go next time. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and when my girlfriend had some free time we decided to go and try something new. Now I've already been accustomed to Colombian food but wanted the experience of sitting and eating in the restaurant. What I can say; Authentic Colombian food, great staff, clean atmosphere, and great food. We questioned and asked for recommendations and also when we seen pictures on the menu but couldn't pin point to what the name was the waitress was super helpful and did not make us feel out of place. Hello all, I'm writing this review on behalf of my sister in law. Unfortunately, her morning was ruined when she had purchased 2 empanadas and 2 breads with cheese inside of it. She bit into her bread with cheese first then into her empanada and realized that it had a light brown hair inside of it. She felt sick to her stomach, and went back to let the owner know that there was a hair in her empanada. The owner, an older women, came out to apologize and shamelessly offered to give her a refund only for the empanada, and not her whole order because according to her "the bread was fine." .
