I would definitely recommend this place for some awesome food. Let me start off by saying, the plates are mad cheap at $6 for one meat and a huge portion of rice or $8 for two meats. I got the 2 meat plate with rice and beans, some kind of beef and chicken. The chicken was awesome, I wish I would of just got the chicken instead of getting the two meats. There was so much flavor and the chicken practically fell off the bone. The beef was more of a beef stew, it wasn't my favorite and I doubt I would get it again but it still tasted alright. Lastly the rice and beans were good but I think I wouldn't enjoyed it more with the white rice, it didn't seem to go very well with my plate. This is a little store front on the middle of broad Street, so be prepared to have to park and walk because everything in the immediate vicinity seemed to be taken, I parked on a side road about a quarter mile down from broad and walked up. If you don't speak Spanish, it may be a little difficult to understand what to order, or even what everything is. I hope you try it out!

I happen to like this Pito better than the more reviewed Pito's on Cranston street. Not because of Location (both are in socio-economically disadvantaged neighborhoods); Service (both have hard working people on board); Space (this one is smaller and more cramped); or the Food (similar Dominican offerings).... It's because of the Community. I have a bottomless appetite for Interesting, Funny, and All Around Good Times and whenever I start feeling like my store of snappy, sassy comebacks for the (ahem) *well deserving* needs replenishment, I can just stand in line for a lesson from the pros (usually servers). Today's example: Server: What do you want. Regular: .... (long pause. What he wants from her isn't for sale.) Server: (Server decides to scoop up yellow rice and a pork chop.) Any sauce? Regular: .... Server: (scoops sauce) Pepsi? Regular: (whining) What... you don't remember me... I always get the same thing... I was just here yesterday.... Server: Not today, My Love. Moral of the story: Food is good, Education is priceless. Stop being scaredy cats, yelpers, and do as the wise Bob Barker said, "Come on Down!" Really, come on down. It's good and the price is right.

I had the stew beef and the rice and beans... stupid good, huge portion, lots of gravy, very cheap. Nice little neighborhood restaurant popular with locals.

Mmmmmm yummmmmmmmm!!!! Yes I'm greedy it's been a while. Need to move this to Florida

Wow. If you're looking for a spot that has amazing food, beautiful art and design aspects, friendly…read moreservice, and plates to share, Aguardente is the place for you. A friend and I came in and put our names on the waitlist, waited for about 45 minutes at a bar down the street, and then had some of the most fulfilling tapas ever! We got a Prosciutto & Salpicao board, the Queijo de Cabra, and Frijol Dip. I also got a nice portuguese red wine that paired well with some of the cheese we received. We sat in a very sweet and cozy nook and enjoyed every minute! I will be back when it's warm out and the front patio is open!

At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.

We found street parking close to the restaurant and that worked well for us. We had about a 25 minute wait before we were seated as we expected. There were tons of people waiting for a table but they have a good system going and we got our table by the promised time. You are first provided complimentary chips with 3 warm dips (black beans and mild and spicy salsa) - they were really good. For appetizers we shared a garnacha and a chicharron and cheese pupusa. Portions were large and they were very tasty. We considered getting one main course to share but since we don't live close by decided to go for 2. This allowed us to have a lot of leftovers - enough for another dinner at home. One entree was aire, mar y tierra - delicious fried fish filet, well seasoned and grilled steak and chicken breast. That came with salad, rice, beans and a side of tortillas. We also had the caldo de marisco (seafood soup) and although not mentioned on the menu, our server mentioned that we could order a medium or large size. That came with a side order of rice. Fantastic soup! Restaurant is very lively and the noise level is high with groups enjoying their meals and having conversations. They have several televisions that were playing soccer games in the background as well as music playing in the background. A very energetic vibe. Another great meal and we will be back again in the future.

I ordered a pupusa with pork to start it comes with cabbage and red sauce they are so good! For entrees we ordered 2 steak tacos that were filled with so much steak, we ordered chicken nachos and it was a great size 2 kids shared them, lastly we ordered parrillada mi Guatemala which is a platter with filers chicken, steak, pork, sausage white rice beans & salad it was big enough for 2 adults to share and have left overs! Ambiance - it's family friendly, booths & table seatings for bigger parties there were 6 of us! 10/10 experience our waiter was friendly and happy!
