Let's go Latin! The queer o meter is a solid 10. Yay! I do love to try new places and this has been on the list for some time. We finally hit it on Friday night and it was a home run. The staff is super nice and attentive. It's an open layout and from what I could see, a well stocked bar. We got the jerk chicken w/honey wings to start which were SO GOOD! They aren't breaded or fried, which I like. Flavorful, hot and tender. I highly recommend them. I got the oxtail with rice and pinto beans. The portion was average but the flavors were spot on. Nice sauce and tender braised meats. My friend let me try her jambalaya, it wasn't like any I've had before, that's not saying it wasn't tasty it was just.... Lighter?! For lack of a better word. For having chorizo in it, I was surprised that it wasn't a heavier rice dish. It was something I would order because of that factor, however. It had nice subtle seasonings that highlighted the proteins in the dish. Very good imo. We got the churros for dessert and do me they fell short. They were dense and I overly "sugared". We weren't rushed and got to enjoy our visit and food at our own pace. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes. They had a full smoked BBQ menu in addition to the main menu, which intrigued me. Drop in and give it a try. It's not cheap but I feel worth the money and the portions, as I said, as average sized. Driving to Newport from the airport, we were looking for a quick dinner spot. We walked into live music and a busy little Afro-Caribbean food hideaway. The ribs, jerk wings and jerk chicken were all fresh and fantastic. The loaded tostones also were nice. Great service with a smile! read more

Wow, what a gem! Can't wait to go back Food: good overall, tostones were crispy, missing a lil acidity, the patties were so freaking flavorful! The Mac n cheese needed some seasoning, ribs were good, coleslaw was a lil too creamy for me, Rasta pasta was good, could've used more chicken. They have like a lot of menus, and options, it's a little overwhelming. Seating is size friendly, not all that comfortable though. Excited for when the patio is open. Playlist was nice, r&b and pop. Parking is shared and I imagine it fills up quickly, as there are several businesses in that plaza. They have weekly specials for food and drinks. Wow! What an unexpected, hidden gem. Tucked on the edge of a plaza, off of Rt. 2. We ventured here for the "Lord of the Wings" event in January, and were we glad we did! Lydia, the hospitable bartender, and Daniel, one of the chefs, were super friendly and engaging. We enjoyed our time here even more so because of the interaction we shared with them. We also got a quick smile and hello from Thomas, another chef, who was shy but sweet and polite. Food and drink: Let's start from the beginning. They offer specials most days, and we happened to come in on a Thursday, when they offer $3.50 tacos and $6 Margs! Score. In addition to the round of margs, (+ $1 for flavor, of which there were many options - yes please!) we opted for the wings (of course), a taco and an order of sweet plantains. Everything was yummy and the prices were more than reasonable. Open only 7 months, they have it together! Between the service and the specials, we will be back for sure! read more

Plenty if parkings are available for the plaza. When we got there it wasn't too busy so we were sat down right away. They offer mainly hispanic and Caribbean food and some drinks. Since we were new we decided go try their fusion feast parillada so that we can try few different type of meats they offer. It came with jerk chicken, steak, shrimps, chorizo, rice and beans, potatoes and some vegetables. Meats were mostly good overall but we liked chicken the best. It was juicy, flavorful and tender. The steak was a bit dry and tough. We ordered medium rare but it was more of medium. Shrimp and chorizos were fine. It also came with some green sauce which made it nice change of flavor. Rice and beans, potatoes and vegetable was pretty average. Portion was decent and came with exactly enough for 2 people. The service was good and our waiter was pretty attentive. Price was probably on a bit higher side. We only got the feast to share and were about $30-40 per person. Overall the place was good and would likely return for the jerk chicken and maybe try different dish. The inside is definitely a lot smaller than i expected but the music is great and so was the service. They have gone day specials so im glad I dont live closer or I would be here for every game lol. It's located in a plaza at the far end and as it was getting dark, the sign was hard to spot since it didn't have much lights in it. What peaked my interest was the weekday specials, the fall drink specials, and the desert menu that was listed on the table. Our meal took a bit to come out but it was worth the wait. Ordered the fusion feast for 1-2 people. Had some water and was pleasantly offered lemon or lime. The dish came with steak, jerk chicken, shrimp, chorizo, 3 potato wedges, and rice. I liked how the platter separate one the portion for 2 people, each side had 3 shrimp, one steak, two chicken breast, two chicken legs, 1/4 chorizo cut longwise, and rice underneath with two tins of fresh/spiced sauce. I can say that the jerk chicken had amazing flavor and was the best. All the meats had a smoky aroma and flavor. 10/10 would order more jerk chicken entrees to try out. First time checking out Fushion and wow so glad we did! Sunday specials: $6 margaritas and apps (yes, please). Our table ordered the jerk shrimp, jerk wings, burger, cheesesteak/ chorizo sandwich--not a single miss. Everyone loved their meal (and yes, I'm still mad at myself for forgetting to take entrée photos ‍). Dessert was a must, and it did not disappoint. We have been to Jamaica several times and found chef Tom's food to be authentic and delicious. We shared curried goat and beef patties. The goat, veggies and rice and peas were yummy, and the patties had a nice flakey crust and rich, spicy minced meat filling. My wife enjoyed her spicy margarita. We will certainly return. read more

Food was not authentic when we went. All the names of the dishes indicate latin sources but there was no real Sazón. I got the lomo saltado which I've had in Peru before and it was not this. Go to Machupicchu Restaurant in providence and you'll see what I mean for cheaper. Aside from the food the focus was on the drinks primarily with takeout orders being at the bar past all the tables and seats.
