Nothing they can necessarily do about that though. Our waitress was attentive and had great recommendations for food. I ordered the iced tea and the "incredible burrito". Our food came out quickly and I was impressed by the portion sizes and quality of the food. If I had to give a minor criticism is that I felt the plate was actually a bit too small for the meal. Everything kind of melded together and fell off the plate. However, everything else was great. The rice was plentiful and had a nice flavor. The chili was a great addition and the burrito itself was filled well and I enjoyed the chicken and beef. This is definitely a place I would come back to, and with such an expansive menu there's something different you could try each time you come in.

So, Plan B it was, and honestly, I'm glad we ended up here. Yellow Door has a really fun atmosphere. The playlist was lively, the place gradually filled up while we were there, and the whole space has a vibrant, welcoming feel without becoming obnoxiously loud or chaotic. It's very aesthetically pleasing, with a colorful, modern look that fits the whole taco-bar concept perfectly. It feels like somewhere you could drop in for a couple of drinks and tacos with friends and just hang out for the evening. Our bartender was really nice and attentive, and the cocktails were probably the highlight of the visit for me. The drink menu is extensive, and there are plenty of interesting options rather than the usual handful of margaritas and beer. Everything we had was well balanced and well made. Providence has been having something of a cocktail renaissance lately, and Yellow Door fits right into that trend. The food was good, although I have to be honest about the birria taco we tried. It was tasty, but it wasn't exactly a life-changing taco, and it was on the small side for the price. I was expecting something that would make me immediately understand why everyone gets so excited about birria, and this one didn't quite get there. That said, "good but not mind-blowing" is still good, and I'm not going to knock an entire restaurant because one taco didn't knock my socks off. We only tried a small portion of the menu, so there's plenty more to explore. That's actually one of the reasons we'll be back. I want to try some of the other food, and I'd like to come on a different night to see how the atmosphere feels when we're not in the middle of a weekend crawl. Sometimes a place hits differently when you actually sit down, order a few things and give the menu a proper chance rather than treating it as one stop on a larger evening. Overall, Yellow Door Taqueria is a very solid four stars. The atmosphere is fun, the space is attractive, the bartenders are friendly, and the cocktails are genuinely good. The food we tried was good, although the birria taco didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Also, please read my review with consideration of the fact that I, myself, worked as a server for over a year and am pursuing a degree in hospitality management. I am not a customer looking to complain and am a guest who seeks good experiences and would love to share them with others. Restaurant was not busy, still waited 10 minutes to be served after I was seated. I didn't get up to leave because I wanted to give this place a fair chance and no other restaurant nearby appealed to me. My server was very direct and to the point, no "thank you for your patience" or "how are you today?" Just straight to "what can I get for you". It felt like I was an inconvenience to her time, not a noticed guest whose business is appreciated. My water ran out and my server quickly placed a jar of water on my table as she passed by, with no comment. Again, made me feel like an inconvenience to her time, not a guest worth speaking to. My elote was served on the cob, I asked for it off but its fine, I know how to cut corn and it was plated beautifully and tastes delicious. I think more of a cream would be good on it but it was good elote nonetheless. My two small birria tacos took 30 minutes to be served. I had my elote to munch on, however 30 minutes felt a little long for a simple, two tacos. When they arrived, my server said more to me and told me to enjoy them, which was appreciated in comparison to no comment to me. The tacos were amazing despite their size and wait time, and my server kindly checked in on me after a few minutes of them being served. I did, however, Overhear my server say "sorry for the wait" to the table behind me of two women, which makes me think I was being overlooked because I was a lone diner as opposed to a party of some amount. When I was done with my food my server kindly offered me a box and prebussed the table. The music was played at a respectable volume and the lighting was adequate, not too dark and not too bright. The restaurant also allows for a lot of natural light which is very nice. Both the elote and tacos were $12, leaving my total after taxes and a credit card upcharge at $26.64. I expected to have a great experience and be able to leave at least a 20% tip as I always do, but unfortunately the service I received equated to that not being the case, and I unfortunately had to leave a little downwards of 16% instead. Overall, I would eat here again, but I think I would have to bring a party of at least two other people to get the proper attention to the table. I'm not sure if I would recommend this restaurant for other people to try as there are many other Mexican restaurants in the area that I have yet to try that may be worth more recognition. However, until I do try them, I would definitely say this place is an adequate restaurant to eat at, but probably only if you're staying at the Aloft and don't want to walk too far.

For my meat I selected steak and requested to have the toppings (pico, guacamole, and sour cream) on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. My friend ordered the birria tacos. Soon after ordering, a large party came in and really made the place upbeat. They had a soccer game playing so it was fun to eat and watch. The food came out quickly and it was hot and fresh. The chimichanga was crispy and big. It was filled with rice, beans, steak, and a couple other things. I didn't dare pick it up and eat it, but instead cut into it. It was very delicious, with all the flavors coming together nicely. The steak was tasty and tender. My friend's tacos were good, but they would have been better if they had more cheese and been crispier. The service here was excellent and the prices are fair. It seems they have a bar area in the back. They have a large parking lot to the left of the building, across the street but there is also street parking.

I ordered one margarita as a 'tall' , I rarely need just one drink but honestly this was strong while still delicious-- I was surprised since usually too strong can be all liquor but this was perfection. We are both huge fans of pozole & you don't see it on a lot of menus. It is a traditional Mexican soup made with hominy, pork & broth - either red or green. We should have asked because we prefer green but it was the red variation. It came with a platter of toppings so you could customize each bite. The broth was nice & spicy. Unfortunately, the pork was more grizzle than meat. Hubby selected the Wet Burrito: a large flour tortilla stuffed with grilled shrimp & chicken, rice & queso dip, then doused in more queso dip with pico de gallo, guacamole & sour cream as sides. It was ginormous but consisted of very little shrimp & chicken. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered the appetizer pork belly chicharron. Good-sized pieces of nicely charred cubes of spicy pork. It came with pico de gallo, guacamole, beans & warm tortillas. It was delicious! As the restaurant is still relatively new, they still need to iron out some of the operational kinks & hopefully will settle into its groove. We will be back (from 3-5pm) to check out the tacos!

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.

They were light, refreshing, and perfect for a warm evening. I ordered their take on a Hugo Spritz and really enjoyed it. My boyfriend chose the Limoncello Spritz. It wasn't quite my style, but it was still well made and delicious. For dinner, we both ordered the steak tips with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. The steak tips were cooked perfectly, the mashed potatoes were incredibly flavorful, and everything on the plate was delicious. It was one of those meals where you're tempted to lick the plate clean.
