Love the tocos! So much flavor. I get the chicken and pork. My wife gets the vegetarian and shrimp. The bowls are good too if you like rice and beans. So inexpensive. The drinks are fantastic too. Everything comes out fast. We stop by after work and still have time to go out later. Or go home and get some R&R.

There are little details everywhere you look and it feels fun, warm and intentionally designed without trying too hard. It is such a great space for a gathering. The food was delicious. I tried the weekly deviled eggs, a selection of charcuterie and cheeses, and the whipped feta dip with fresh cut veggies. Everything was fresh, flavorful and perfect for grazing during a cocktail-style event. The winter cranberry spritz was basically all of my favorite flavors in one glass. So so good. Their cocktail and mocktail menu really shines and I cannot wait to go back and try more. As someone with food intolerances, I asked plenty of questions and everyone was friendly, patient and helpful with both menu guidance and cocktail suggestions. That always makes such a difference. There was even parking, which is a huge bonus. This is the perfect spot for a winter cocktail party or a fun night out. I will definitely be gathering my girls and heading back soon.

Upon entrance is a doorman who is so friendly and accommodating! He found us an open table and checked on us throughout the night. The place was packed and they only had maybe 5 or 6 employees so the service was a little slow but understandable. I think the longest wait was about 20 minutes when we were waiting to get our initial drink order taken, but everything after that was fairly quick. For drinks I got a thin mint martini because they were out of the chocolate reuge martini I wanted. It was so yummy and came with 3 thin mint cookies. My mom got a pistachio martini and the Jefferson Tea. Both were pretty good but I wouldn't order again. My dad got Dead Mans Redemption which is good if you like bourbon. It comes with a wood topper and they light it on fire, let smoke fill in the drink, and then take the wood off. The drink then has notes of smoked wood in it which is cool. For food we got the crispy spring rolls and pepperoni flatbread. Both were so good!!!! It was absolutely worth the wait!!! I could eat the whole flatbread myself it was that good and I can't wait to go back and get another one. The crowd is definitely much older, not a lot of younger people around. It's a good date night for married couples. Overall it was a nice place and I would come back.

I was immediately impressed with the interior of this restaurant, it felt upscale and designed so tastefully, loved the atmosphere! Our serve was also really sweet, bubbly, and friendly too. This made our dining experience very pleasant. I order the Churro Iced Café Exprés for a drink, and it was so impressive looking. I loved that the churro was warm and the drink itself was really tasty. However, I think there was way too much whipped cream and not enough of the actual drink. For my main dish, I chose the Barbacoa Benedict - a super popular choice according to the waitress, and for good reason! The Benedict really was delicious, the meat was tender, the flavors popped, and I love a good bolo roll as a base. But, the homefries were SO salty. They were cooked nicely, but I couldn't enjoy them for more than a few bites. Overall, I really enjoyed Sombra as a brunch spot and would certainly visit again. It's a great brunch spot in a prime location.

Priced a little highly in my opinion- I got the meat Omelette. It was tasty, it had a fair bit of carne asada in it and it was well seasoned. It also had some bacon and chorizo in there if memory serves me. I thought the portion could have been a little bit better for $23, or better yet, just make it $18-19. There's no reason an Omelette should come with a $23 price tag. I was actually satisfied with the portion given the mound of home fries. Which by the way were very tasty albeit, over salted. The braised beef Benedict that my wife got was very good, my only critique on it would be to toast the bolo a bit more because the whole thing was one texture. It missed the crunch you get with an English muffin as the base. I also thought the beef could have been more seasoned. One other order at the table included the breakfast tacos. You get 4 tacos piled with food. Actually looked like you got more than the Omelette. Noted for next time. I didn't order this, but tried it at the table- the spiked horchata drink was tasty. A little heavy on the whipped cream but it was a good drink! We were surprisingly the only ones in there besides one other table. Doesn't seem like brunch has caught on here? Nonetheless, I think you should give it a try, we were well taken care of and there wasn't anything we didn't like.

Be warned, it's on the more expensive side for dining and may be a coin toss for "is it worth it" for those that enjoy a night out but also looking for value. Food was a mixed bag for us.... Starting with the smashburger was genuinely disappointing as the burger itself was dry and advertised as a "French onion" smashburger that failed to deliver any of the rich, savory flavor we expected with a name like "French onion smashburger". The hot honey Mac and cheese was very good and flavorful... The hot being more of a vinegary heat than I expected but the cream sauce was rich. Speaking of value earlier.... Smashburger was $20 and the Mac and cheese was $28. Entrees were $10-15 more it seemed but previous reviews all spoke highly of the entrees and would want to try them if we visit again. The overall service experience was disappointing for us. Not for the demeanor of the staff but everything else... We had a decent size group of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids) and was fortunate to have a dining room to help the kids burn some energy while not bothering the other diners. However, from ordering to entrees to arrive was 45 very hungry minutes. It also took 20+ mins just to get drinks. Once the food arrived, they also were short two of the kids meals which was thankfully corrected quick. We then were somewhat "gently" being asked to wrap things up by 3 staff members in 10 mins making the rounds to clear plates and any to go containers. We all understand the business in the food industry and turning tables, and trust me, after an hour from arriving to food on the table we wanted to get home for bed time. However, really sours the experience and would not advocate going here with large groups.... Between the kitchen and staff I can't say you'd have a guaranteed good time.

A cute hostess area for pickup orders, but we headed to the small dining room and grabbed a table. I ordered garlic Parmesan wings and a meatlovers pub pizza. The garlic Parmesan was... Interesting. I believe it's a mayo based sauce, similar to an Alabama white BBQ sauce. I could see the appeal in it but it wasn't for me personally. The pizza was great as usual. I love the combination of the toppings on the meatlovers with the sauce. I enjoyed every bite. While I don't need an excuse to come to Grainsley's as it's in my semi regular rotation, I didn't mind the chance to come back sooner than later for some awesome wings and pizza!
