Food: I ordered the chicken mole poblano with a side of rice and refried beans and flour tortilla and it was actually pretty tasty. We also ordered a side of guacamole which was ok, but not too special. My friend ordered the Al pastor tacos dinner. Both dishes were actually yummy and we were so stuffed. Their portion size is big so be prepared to be full! Service: The service was great. We were always checked on and the food came out super quick too! The staff was really nice. Ambiance: There's a lot of good seating and booths. There's also a good sized bar. The decor is cool too. There's also a parking lot that has a decent amount of spaces. Would definitely visit again!

Half alive bug found in our food 60 seconds after waiter brought our plates out

We've dined in and ordered take out from here probably a dozen times and always felt it was good. The host/ess and waiters/waitresses have always been polite and prompt. However, this last time when we dined in, there was a half alive bug found twitching in our food right after the waiter brought the plates to the table. Sadly, I don't think we will be patrons here anymore because of this. (This was the Wickford location)

I absolutely love pleasant surprises, and this new Mexican gem, nestled right beside a convenience store across from Taco Bell and Dave's (formerly Benny's), is indeed an oasis in what feels like a culinary desert--especially considering the abundance of Chinese and Italian deli places along the road leading to Oakland Beach. Intrigued, we decided to check it out on a weeknight. The interior decor, featuring prominent wall-mounted suns, brought to mind another nearby Mexican restaurant, but this one added an extra touch with multicolored ceiling lights. It provided a warm respite from the onset of cold weather and darkness outside. I was pleasantly surprised to find at least three occupied tables, a good sign for a weeknight. The servers were helpful, friendly, and readily available to explain and recommend dishes. For starters, we ordered the flautas--an absolute bomb! The best I've had among all the Mexican restaurants in Rhode Island. While their menu includes the usual suspects (tacos, chimichanga, burrito), they also offer some unique items. We took advantage of this by ordering a Del Mar Salad with Grilled Fish and a Tapatio Enchilada for my husband. And then, margaritas! While the available flavors weren't unique, we opted for a large Black Jack margarita made with Chambord (raspberry liqueur). The pricing was just right. In total, we spent $73, including tax but excluding tip. What sets this place apart for me is a very fundamental reason--its competitive difference--the taste and quality of the food. While taste is subjective, in my humble opinion, it offers the most savory Mexican fare by far.

I was so excited to hear that El Tapatio was bringing a new location to Warwick after enjoying their food at their Wickford location for many years. Their latest adventure at their West Shore Road location does not disappoint. One thing that's noteworthy about their reputation is that there are super customer focused. That same commitment to service was shining, even on a jam packed Friday night. They were fully staffed and ready to serve with a smile. Gracious hosts, eager servers and support staff made the experience superb. We started with complimentary chips and salsa, added an order of guacamole. The salsa was fresh and flavorful as was the guacamole. Both were full of fresh cilantro, onion and not overly seasoned. We each ordered a très combo that came with three selections of items along with refried beans, rice and Cole slaw. The tamale was a winner with tons of tender pork inside the corn masa with an unbelievable mole sauce. High marks as well for the cheese enchilada and shredded beef hard taco. But honestly - you serve a gold medal if you can polish that off solo. I had PLENTY to take home for another generous meal. We didn't order any of the alcoholic drinks, but the bartender was cranking them out the entire time we were there. People were ordering multiples so that seems like a good sign that they're likely pretty good. The vibe is casual but classic. The decor is simple. The place is spotless. Did I say the people are kind and gracious? The only problem is that it's a small spot that was quickly filled by folks eager to enjoy what this place offers. Can't say that I blamed them. What a great problem to have. Glad they're here!

Food was good not the flavor of Mexican food from where I'm from. Service was good but not many people there. Seemed newly opened l! I have a chimichanga with shredded beef. It wasn't crispy, but the beef had a good flavor came with a side of beans and rice. Beans were a little cold, but the rice had a good flavor. Needs a little more consistency in better cooking techniques. Otherwise flavors were OK.

Mexican food at its best. Our meals were delicious, the service was great - thanks Alex! - and the decor and ambiance were welcoming, clean, and comfortable. I have made it a goal to try a new dish every time we eat here and I am rewarded each time. Today, I enjoyed the flavorful Camarones Mojo De Ajo (photo) - jumbo shrimp and mushrooms with lots of chopped garlic and all the sides. I had just enough to take home for a mini meal. Lucky me! My husband had the steak quesadilla which he said was "very good!" If you have been to one of their "sister" restaurants, you know the quality and care that is taken with each meal. This new location perfectly situated in the middle of Warwick is no different and has quickly become our new favorite.

Went here last week for cinco de mayo. I knew it would be busy but decided to give it a try. They…read moresaid it would be a 30ish minute wait. Understandable. BF and I got a couple margs and waited outside. 40 mins goes by so I go in and check. They say it'll be another 20ish mins. 30 mins goes by and they say another 30 mins. Pretty hangry at this point. Again, I get its cinco de mayo. We finally get seated more than an hour and a half later. We order the guac and tortilla chips as an app. Guac wasn't bad. Chips were stale like they were out all day of cinco de mayo. My BF orders steak tacos as his entree. I order the Cochinita Pibil. "Slow cooked pork in achiote. Served with rice, beans and tortillas". We finally get that 30 mins later. His tacos were subpar to say the most. Quote "I wouldn't get tacos here again". My dish was the BLANDEST meal I've ever had in my life. It tasted like nothing. I was visibly upset when the waitress finally walked by 15 mins later and told her I couldn't eat it. She asked if I wanted something else so I told her I'd just have the steak tacos because I was starving at this point. She then asked if I wanted a box for the entree I originally ordered and I said no because it didn't taste good at all and neither of us would eat it. She began to walk away and I politely asked if she would still charge me for the cochinita pibil and she said yes so I told her I wouldn't want anything else and to just give us the check once my bf was done with his meal. She didn't pay attention to me the rest of the time we were there. She did end up charging us for that bland plate. Pretty sad. I regret not asking to talk to someone because I guarantee no one in that kitchen would have enjoyed it either, as they were all Hispanic from what I could tell. I myself am Central American so I know authentic dishes. Sad to say I will not be going back there. Good luck!

Upon entering, they have a nice outdoor area to eat with playful decor that makes you feel like you're in Mexico! We were seated immediately, but we must've just gotten there at the right time cause they were so packed! Our waitress brought over water and chips and salsa and gave us a few moments to review the menu. We ordered drinks, a steak quesadilla, and the rib eye tacos and fish tacos. Food came out quick and the staff were incredibly attentive. The steak quesadilla was yummy but I wish they had the sour cream and salsa or something on the side for it. It was only drizzled on top but since they were overlapping, it didn't feel like there was enough. But that's 10000% just personal preference! it was still very delicious! The cabo fish tacos were so yummy, we got them fried and they had a good crisp to is. But the star was the rib eye tacos. SO good! the green guacamole sauce that comes with it paired so well with the rib eye flavor. Hands down my favorite of the night! both orders of tacos also came with beans and rice. We definitely had leftovers for the next day! Highly recommend this location! Staff was incredible, parking is easy, food was great!
