We ordered the chips and guac for 14.50, which comes with beans and salsa, and says says free refills (menu attached). We asked for one refill of beans and one of guac. When we got the bill, we were supposed to see charges for the beans and guac. Our server explained that the free refills were only for the chips and salsa. We asked to see a menu again and pointed out that it says free refills. Our server contacted the owner/manager who doubled down on the misleading statement and charged us for both refills (total of 10.50 additional cost). It's really a bummer because I had read a bunch of reviews on here and my takeaway is that the food is great but the management leaves something to be desired. Be upfront with your customers! It's a great restaurant with delicious food, I'm glad small businesses exist, and I wish that we had been treated with more grace and honesty. Losing $10 on your end (or even just being upfront and stating the refill policy on the menu) is well worth it for a positive customer experience. She then asked if I wanted a box for the entree I originally ordered and I said no because it didn't taste good at all and neither of us would eat it. She began to walk away and I politely asked if she would still charge me for the cochinita pibil and she said yes so I told her I wouldn't want anything else and to just give us the check once my bf was done with his meal. She didn't pay attention to me the rest of the time we were there. She did end up charging us for that bland plate. Pretty sad. I regret not asking to talk to someone because I guarantee no one in that kitchen would have enjoyed it either, as they were all Hispanic from what I could tell.
