Complimentary chips and excellent salsa. FYI they moved to 1955 Westminster

Didn't have much food but what I had was excellent. The complimentary chips and salsa kicked butt and the fajita trio (chicken, steak, shrimp) was cooked well and large portion. The entrees come w a simple salad beans, a sm side of guacamole, and a amazing rice. we had a order of their shrimp scampi as well but w out all the sides and that was delicious as well (not your typical scampi sauce, a creamy garlic sauce). The next time I come I'd probably just get chicken and beef fajitas and the side of scampi shrimp. Just a fyi the chicken was super juicy and tender (prob the best cooked protein of the 3). Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of the scampi.

Fish filete, veggie rice, salad, beans and tostadas! (15$!)

Very good choice to check out this gem. The service was quick and there was quality in the food. It is a small restaurant however they can get creative if a big group 10+ show up. The server was very friendly and made great recommendations to the menu. There is street parking. I wasn't sure if they had a private parking spot. The portions are huge and they serve chips and salsa as a free starter! They take debit cards and are very family friendly. Saw a bunch of kids and it still felt very relaxing. So happy I came

Was later afternoon Sunday wanted to find a place to eat and our go to El Taconazo was closed so figured we try it has a good reviews and seating outside... Waitstaff out side is a bit slow for a small place and took three tries to get a soda dont know why The food looked great but super super salty The the rice even was salty as hell honestly I didn't eat it and I'm not hugely picky Generally super disappointed I eat all over the world and honestly this was not a good meal. I think I had higher expectations from the photos I saw...rice was like sticky rice and not what I ever have had in a america ?? Service: 3* Appearance of food: 5* Quality of food: 4* Flavor and taste: 2* Cleanliness: 4* Would I return: no Would I recommend: no

The place is adorable! Service is great! The food is good. Portions are adequate! The only down side to this place is that this place is tiny in space so not ideal for big parties. Booths probably fit 4 ppl tops. Overall a great experience, would recommend and come back again soon!

Mi Likey! I ordered a small array of food that somehow only cost me $6. My plate consisted of delicious plantains, yummy guac, some veggies, and some crispy tortillas stuffed with chicken. It was a serious, scrumptious deal. Our waitress was friendly, fast and fabulous. Our full dining experience wasn't perfect. Some harsh lighting, the interiors felt a bit old (not in a vintage way), and they had music playing aaaaand the TV on at a high volume. I'd vote for turning the TV volume down. Great food, though!

Mi Ranchito is a small Mexican-themed restaurant located near Federal Hill in Providence RI. We had just arrived in Providence and were basically starving from being on a plane for several hours. A quick check on Yelp revealed Mi Ranchito with 4 stars and 71 reviews. In all the years I've used Yelp it's never failed me - until this restaurant. I hope I'm not being too harsh, and please take my opinion with a grain of salt, especially if you like to eat here. Maybe I'm jaded with all the opportunities for authentic Guatemalan, Honduran, Mexican and TexMex to be found in Atlanta, but this food to me was really marginal. Not that it smelled or tasted foul or anything like that, but the flavors were downright bland and there were enough other peculiarities about the meal that it pushed me into only giving it 2 stars. The atmosphere was a bit dark but after some of the dives I frequent that didn't bother me too much. The staff took our order quickly and overall we got good service. The first thing that seemed a bit off were the chips. These were cut much thicker than is typical - also instead of a pico or salsa cruda, the sauces were more like what you would get out of a bottle of Tapatico or similar. Much like the baked potato can set the expectation for the steak, the chips are very important, in my opinion, in setting the expectation for the rest of the meal in a Hispanic restaurant. I give these a "D." I ordered the Pollo Asado lunch special - this came with rice and a small dinner salad. Once again I had a "wow" moment where I felt like I was in the food court of a bad mall. The rice was made up of what tasted like frozen vegetables and a short grain white rice. The salad was made up of iceberg lettuce, with a rather bland "ranch" dressing. Ugh. The worst, however is what my friend and frequent dining companion Sid ordered - as a vegetarian there is often very little on menus that he feels comfortable ordering - in this case he got some type of appetizer that consisted of three fried tortillas smeared with black-beans, salsa and guac - with a small salad. I don't know what to think about that plate and I'm surprised he ate it. In any case, my first impression of the food scene in Providence left much to be desired. Luckily dinner at Siena more than made up for this lunch. (a bit longer review on my food blog)

Amazing place, little known and hidden away in a dark corner. Again this is Guatemalan food and not Mexican food, slightly different. Got takeout and got the rachito platter for 1 which itself was a lot to food for 2 people. It comes with rice, salad, refriend beans and a ton of meat (spicy chicken and steak). Also got the beef tacos which were good, although the meat was dry. And got the guacamole, a little tangy for me. Overall great value for the food and tastes good as well, would def go back again!

Chicken and steak fajitas ! Large portion!

Coming from Newport where there's no Mexican restaurants whatsoever we decided to try this location on a shopping day in Warwick. I looked up Mexican and Mi Ranchito came up. As we drove upon the business we noticed it was Guatemalan/Mexican. Surprised but not disappointed. Small restaurant between two big apartments on each side. The menu had many options from appetizers, seafood, meats and soups. We ordered fajitas with beef and chicken and my husband was pleased with the large portions. Very tasty! I ordered Platanos Fritos (fried plantains) and beef tacos. The beef taco tortillas were handmade ! So good! A little thick but so yummy!!!!! Everything was great. My little toddler enjoyed their black beans and rice! Only thing I didn't enjoy was the horchata. It tasted like coconut milk. Not my taste. Definitely coming back when we're around the area!

We decided on the Gift Horse and circled around a couple of times to find street parking (which is also free on Sundays). At the time that we went in, all spots were busy, but we were directed to their standing bar area where we could order a drink and hang out while something became available. Literally 2 minutes later, something freed up. I started with their Silver Spring cocktail ($15) which was very good - refreshing and slightly sweet. For food, we ordered a crudo plate ($18) with a side of sourdough bread ($6), followed by oysters ($18), then the lamb burger ($22), and lastly the crispy piri piti fish (MP - $40). The crudo plate was one of our favorites. We enjoyed all the cuts of fish it came with, but our favorite was the yellowfin tuna as it was firm and flavorful. The toppings of olive oil, capers, onions, etc. were the perfect touch. The sourdough was simply toasted and buttered but oh so good. They have a happy hour for oysters from 4-5 PM where they're only $2 instead of $3 but we missed the window by a little. There is a half dozen order minimum so we did two Quonnie, two Great Salt Pond, and two Wild Goose. That's the order in which we ranked them, from best to less best. The Quonnie were smaller, but they were flavorful and the Great Salt Pond were big and meaty. All were very fresh. There are three sauces to choose from, but we went with the GH Fermented Green Chili Hot Sauce. The RI Lamb Burger was incredibly good. It was advertised as a Bulgarian style burger so we asked about the difference between Bulgarian and I guess American and it came down to the spices used. We enjoyed how juicy and well-seasoned the meat was. I loved the contrast between sweet (pepper jelly and fried onions) and salty (feta). The bread seemed homemade; it was light and fluffy and had a healthy amount of sesame seeds. The crispy piri piri fish came out last and it was not what we were expecting. My friend didn't enjoy it as much, but I liked it. The fish was battered for a crispy finish and sat over a piri piri sauce with two rolls, mustard greens, and potatoes. The piri piri sauce was tasty, not too spicy, with a thicker consistency. The rolls seemed like they were made in house; they were slightly buttery and soft. The mustard greens were good. The potatoes were similar to home fries with onions. The staff was very helpful and explained the food after delivering it. Ambiance is good.

From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The vibe was spot on, the drinks were thoughtfully crafted, and the food was absolutely worth the trip. We ordered sides of hash browns and bacon. The hash browns were perfectly crispy...exactly how I like them. The bacon had great flavor, though I personally would have loved it a little crispier. Of course, the star of the show was the soufflé pancakes. We tried the Crème Brûlée, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Berry Compote flavors, and every single one was light, fluffy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. They were sweet without being overwhelming and perfectly suited our palate. I also tried the pistachio coffee. It was a little more earthy than I typically prefer, but if you're a fan of pistachio-forward flavors, you'll likely enjoy it. Overall, Capri delivered an exceptional breakfast experience.

Only reason I'm giving 1 star still is because the waitress was very nice and what happens in the kitchen is not her fault! I think her name is (Katy?) I can't remember exactly but she was super nice! We got there for 11:30 reservation. Waited 15 minutes before we were seated which I didn't love already because there's no waiting area and nowhere to sit where the restaurant is so you have to stand around waiting for the table. Well by the time we left there I finally understood why we had to wait another 15 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. We ordered our food and drinks and got our drinks fairly quick but the food took way too long considering that it's breakfast items and they didn't have that many tables to begin with even including inside dining. Our pancakes took almost 40 minutes to come out and our sides never even came out with the pancakes which I thought was weird. The sides didn't come out for another almost 15 minutes. By the time everything was out my son was getting fussy so I just asked for everything to be packed up to go. The high chair was also dirty and oily with food still on the sides and not cleaned at all. I was talking to the family that sat next to us because the waiter who brought out their food messed up and brought their sides to another table dropped it off then found out the food was not at the right table and brought it straight to the right table after it's been sitting at the wrong table for a few minutes at that point! That family also said they waited a really long time for their food and their food didn't all come out at the same time either so it seems like this is normal. I also went to ask the hostess how much longer for our food before our pancakes came out few minutes later. She asked me how long it's been since I put in my order I said about 30 min already and she said oh that's sounds about right. So that just proves that food normally take this long to get out to the table! I'm used to way shorter wait times for breakfast foods this just didn't seem normal to me. Let's get to the food! I had the original pancakes with the blueberry and strawberry, got a side of scrambled eggs, sausages, and home fries. For drinks I got a fresh orange juice and my sister got the Dubai chocolate latte. The Dubai chocolate latte was delicious and so was the orange juice but definitely over priced for the portion size, but I guess it's acceptable being federal hill prices for most people? Personally I thought it was way overpriced not just the drinks but everything considering the proportions. The pancakes were ok didn't taste as eggy as I expected being that it's supposed to be more egg based which is totally fine the texture was good. The strawberries on top I thought were going to be fresh strawberries but it seems like it's more of a compote. The scrambled eggs were a little too charred for my liking I've never really had scrambled eggs charred before. Potatoes were ok for the most part in terms of flavor but my sister had some that were still kinda undercooked and hard. The sausages were really flavorful. Overall I don't think we'll be returning or recommend this place for the breakfast at least. Way overpriced and not worth the hype.

First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening. I ended up going alone this time, but I came back with enough leftovers and commentary to share that the whole experience could easily be pieced together in anyone's head pretty clearly. The first thing that stands out is the setup. It's casual in the best possible way. Nothing pretentious, nothing overworked. You walk up, order, wait a bit, and then suddenly you've got seafood in a paper tray that somehow tastes like summer even when you're wedged into a busy city block instead of sitting by the water. There's a kind of controlled chaos to it, especially during peak hours, but it moves. I went with the absolute classics without hesitation: a fried fish sandwich and a side of fries, plus a lobster roll that, frankly, looked like it was built for someone who doesn't believe in restraint. The fish sandwich was the standout. Crisp coating, flaky inside, not greasy in that heavy way that ruins a good fry. The bun held together without collapsing into mush, which is always a small victory in a city seafood spot. The fries were solid, nothing revolutionary, but they did their job without trying to steal attention from the main event. The lobster roll was more of a classic Rhode Island style than anything over-complicated. Generous chunks, lightly dressed, and not drowned in filler. It leaned into freshness rather than gimmicks, which is exactly what you want when you're this close to the water. It didn't feel like it was trying to reinvent anything, just execute the basics well enough that you stop thinking about it and just eat. What I like about places like this is that they don't overpromise. Dune Brothers isn't trying to be a white-tablecloth seafood restaurant, and it doesn't need to be. It's quick, it's reliable, and it feels like it belongs in downtown.

We sat in a very sweet and cozy nook and enjoyed every minute! I will be back when it's warm out and the front patio is open!

My friend and I came here on Father's Day expecting it to be packed, which it was, but there were…read morestill a few tables available, both inside and outside. At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.
