Dining here was quite the memorable experience...in more ways than one, as I was there on a certain Saturday Dec. 13th in 2025.. ..For now, let's talk about the memorable impact the incredible food here made on me! First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening. Exceptional circumstances aside, this restaurant is also exceptional when it comes to the quality of their food and service. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Providence! read more

Glad I stumbled on this quaint & amazing place. The market feel and small dining room fit right into the neighborhood. I had the fish sandwich and it was impressive. The portions all around appeared huge. The flavor combinations were great and recommend you try. A side of fries is plenty for two to split as well. Ratings: 4.3 Came to try out Dune Brothers for the first time. I've heard about them before but now that they have a restaurant location open I figure i give it a try. We came for lunch time as it opened. The place is pretty small and cozy . Seatings are limited so it filled up pretty quickly . It also has fish market on the side as it sells some of their seafood that they use. We ordered steamed mussels, crab cakes, lobster rolls and fish and chips. We were going to order little necks but it was out. The steamed mussels were very good. Meaty mussels topped with garlic butter, cilantros, red peppers and lemon. It came with bread so that we can dip in the broth. Crab cake was good. Chewy and filled it clams which came with tartar sauce. The fish and chips were alright. It's huge so be aware of the portion. Fish was fresh but too much fried doughs and fries. The lobster rolls were good. Lots of butter and lobster meat served with brioche bun. Lobster meat was good but i think a bit too much butter. It was nice to be able to taste the lobster but maybe bit of salt and lemon would made it better. Service was good and the sever was nice. Overall the place was good but the price was pretty expensive. The highlight for me was the mussels. I would like to try their grilled fishes next time. I think fried foods were alright as it takes away from the fresh seafood flavor. read more

Consistently excellent--Dune Brothers is a must in Providence Dune Brothers has become a must-visit every time I'm in Providence. The lobster roll never disappoints--fresh, generous, and absolutely phenomenal. On this visit, my son ordered the fish and chips made with skate. That's when we learned a little lesson about skate fish--it's one of those species that can develop an ammonia-like smell or taste if not immediately iced after catching. While my son was enjoying it, I asked the staff if this was common. They responded with genuine professionalism--apologized, explained the nature of skate, and offered a replacement on the spot. They brought out two fresh samples of their fish and chips using pollock and butterfish, both of which were excellent. As a bonus, they even gave me a free beer for the trouble. Great food, and even better hospitality. Dune Brothers continues to be one of my favorite stops in Rhode Island. Just maybe no more skate for me--but everything else on the menu has been fantastic. Dune Brothers was a great find! We arrived late and the place was packed, but the staff was kind and let us know the wait would be about 15-20 minutes. Even though we sat close to closing time, the service was still attentive and friendly. The food was good, my lobster roll wasn't particularly memorable, but my husband had the half lobster and said it was amazing. This is their second location that is a brick and mortar. I first tried their original location that is seasonal. This place is small but they do have outdoor seating. I ordered the fish and chips and skate. Fish of the day was fluke. Service was good our server kept checking in on us a few time. Fish was very moist. I appreciate making clear chowder a choice as it is the local variety but I appreciated the honesty of the staff that there's a reason it isn't the most popular. The chowder was A+. The lobster was great but I was a little surprised that market price was $70. I also wish that it came with butter for dipping instead of cocktail sauce. This place is very new because this location was where LiKeNoUdder use to be. Upon entering, everything was new, newly renovated and clean. We arrived right at opening! Staff was prompt and kind. She offered some of the specials and let us know what was and wasn't available. Keep in mind, they have some items available because they try to keep fish fresh and from the market place. They do replace some items depending on availability like for the fish and chips, or mussels for the calms dish. We were checked-in on frequently, and offered condiments, and more drinks. The steam mussels were the best part of our meal! The item on the menu is stated that little neck are used but instead, they were replaced by mussels. The soup was lemony with herbs and a side of bread that was delicious when dipped in the soup. We got some clam cakes because it's a New England special~ they were light and fluffy. Com cakes always are 90% bread and 10 or less % clam~ which is normal. They were the best clam bake because they taste light and savory. I also used them to dip in the mussel soup. I had fish and chips! The fish was a market place fish because there was no potluck version available. It was meatier and tasty. Tasted fresh and very warm. The new sit-down Dune Bros is awesome. Our group of 4 stopped by on a chilly January Friday and put our name down for an hour wait. (They will call you so you can stop by any of the local bars). This longstanding Jewelry District trailer now has a brick-and-mortar storefront on Ives St. in the old Like No Udder location! I had no idea this was coming, but I was happy to see a new lunch option in Fox Point! They did an amazing job renovating -- it's a small space but very bright, warm, and comfortable. I can't believe they managed to squeeze a fish counter and indoor dining in here. There will be outdoor tables too but obviously that's not so relevant right now. The service was great! The menu is really impressive. It's the same spirit as their downtown location, but a little dressed up. Since I don't eat fish, I had a variety of sides and accoutrements. The salt and pepper fries are their huge crispy fries dressed up like calamari with hot peppers and scallions. I usually don't enjoy coleslaw, but the lemon and olive oil slaw was a fresh delight. The pickle plate was interesting but I could probably skip it next time. The portions are massive and I think anyone would be challenged to finish the fish and chips. Would definitely recommend this spot for anything from a casual lunch date to a celebratory dinner! Truly the only downside is the small space. read more

Had some very tasty local oysters that were delicious with that perfect salty brine. Their homemade Cocktail sauce was very tasty. I Followed the oysters with fish and chips made with pollock. Very fresh and delicious and the crust was amazing sprinkled with flaked salt. My waitress was very knowledgeable about the type of fish being served and the type of oysters. She also recommended a great white wine to serve with my dinner. The ambience is casual with a seafood market theme decor. Extremely clean and up to date. Go for the specials here, they are killer. I wasn't ready to spend $37 on a lobster roll (I bet it is delicious though, getting it next time) so we got a bunch of other stuff and were really impressed! Clam cakes and clear chowder hit the spot (they were out of white, cry). We had scallop&bean&razor clam special and chick pea salad special and ciopinno- mixed seafood stew special. The service was great, with our servers (1 training) being very kind and attentive. The food, however, was just not good at all. The clam cakes are spiced and the flavors taste off. I'm usually happy to try new versions of old favorites, but it just didn't work with the clam cakes. I had some kind of stuffed special. It was flavorless (could not taste any of the lobster or mushrooms) and an extremely small serving for almost $40. Finally, we sent back my fiancé's fish sandwich as it tasted only like old oil. so i'm already a dune brothers stan, and whenever i have guests out of state or out of country and the shack is cold, i take them somewhere else and tell them it's close enough but come back in the summer for the best lobster roll ever. but NOW i don't have to!!! now my friend came into town and i was like let's go into my fave spot and eat all the fish. they did a fabulous job redoing this corner store and squeezing in a sitdown experience that is cozy. servers were super attentive and generous with us. we probably consumed a pound of lemons lol and they kept up coming. we got the rhode island clear chowder and i loved the pile of clams in there. like so freaking fresh. the oysters were good and the chilled crab claw was a delight. the lobster roll slapped and i took the fries home because i was getting full and we still had the fish sandwich to split. the fish sandwich was surprisingly my favorite thing i was so not expecting that. i can't believe that pile of sandwich is $15 in this economy. very inspired to order it takeout in the near future. read more

Friendly service and nice atmosphere on a pretty day. My dining companions got different fish sandwiches and they were gigantic and looked amazing. I tried the lobster roll, clam cakes, and slaw. The lobster roll was fine but didn't have a huge amount of lobster and I wish I'd ordered a different sandwich. The crab cakes were fine- not what I was expecting but that's my fault. I realized after trying them in two restaurants that clam cakes in Rhode Island resemble very large hush puppies with some clam inside. The slaw was light and refreshing. SO, like many others I had already been to the Dune Brothers Shack (fried fish only) seasonal joint in the Jewelry District. This new one in Fox Point has sit down dining, a fish market, and non-fried options. The portions at the Shack are almost cartoonishly large, but here I had the broiled whole market fish (today: trout) and it was superb. Also, not heavy and perfectly seasoned. It's very nice. Service was a bit slow, and the seating is very limited, which makes the choice of an oversized table for 7, and another for 5, seem a bit odd. But overall, the food is outstanding. read more

Great fish sandwiches and the best clam cakes (real chunks of clams that you can see and taste). The Bait Box was also very good. I think it has been discontinued. I haven't been to the new site. Food was horrible. Had the NE Clam Chowder and fish sandwich. Clams in chowder were so chewy that I had to spit them out. All I could tasted in the fried fish sandwich was the nasty oil that that the fish was fried in. Seemed like the people that worked there were miserable.
