The locals are going, we found a gem! My friend and I were in RI to for vacation and local recommended this place to us. I love the local spots where the food is good and prices are not super expensive. I had the clam strips and chips and my friend and I split the clam cakes. The staff was friendly, food came out pretty quick. This place also has designated parking across the street, a bonus! If I lived in the area, I would go back to try more things!

Casual atmosphere, Warren town Beach is a four minute drive and they have picnic tables and shade.

Great mom and pop little fish shack with limited non fish options. They have shellfish and fish offerings. Very casual and few tables. Nice folks. Also fresh Portuguese sweet bread by the round is for sale. Fresh lobster roll special at 26.00 w a side or something, that's a good price. Love the Rhode island style clam chowder made with just broth, and so flavorful with a side order a clam cakes wow delicious

I don't really understand the hype. This was my first time going to Amaral's. I saw a lot of cars on the street but did find a small lot that somehow wasn't full. I walked in and it was super busy. It's really small and you can really feel the smoke in the room. Ordering was easy, even through there was a line at "phone pick up" that people were taking orders at...lol I ordered a Small Fish n Chips and a Clam Cakes and Chowder combo. By the time I walked over to a table, it was ready. I liked the new England chowder, it's your traditional chowder. The clam cakes were okay, not much flavor. The fish n chips were clean but bland. I ate more of the fries than the fish. I wouldn't come back, I'd go anywhere else.

Service was fast! Ordered at the counter and took out Seats. Food came out quick. It was my first time here. I ordered a sampler with clams, shrimp, fish and scallops also a side of calamari and clam cakes to share. This place was pretty busy with lots of take out orders, people were in and out. Food was excellent and fresh.

    Welcome!

Basically a storefront in the midst of a shabby city, but DO NOT pass them by! My first observation, clean. The fry oil does not contaminate the separate dishes with old flavors or product. I am not a huge fan of fried food mainly bc it wreaks of old fry oil. Not up in here! The friendly staff are providing a reasonably priced, above average product. The highlight for me was two fold. The fish and chips, as well as the clam chowder. Everything was great, but those were the showstoppers! Enjoy some fresh RI seafood right here! Bon appetite!

It does get hot bc it's not covered so keep that in mind. The staff at the front are so helpful and they do their jobs with a smile. Food was ready very shortly after placing the order. Clam strips were my absolute favorite. I sat outside in the sun to enjoy them. Nice scenery while you eat. Drinks are good. Chowder was delicious. Definitely should be on your list to try !!

Rhode Island has no shortage of clam shacks, lobster rolls, chowder houses, and seafood restaurants. I've been to most of them. Yet every summer, I find myself coming back to Blount again and again. It's one of those places that simply gets it right. One thing I make a point of doing is ordering something different almost every visit. Too many people find one favorite and never venture beyond it. At Blount, that would be a mistake because the menu is loaded with great options. On my most recent visit, I ordered the scallop roll. It was outstanding. Fresh, light, flavorful, and served on a perfectly buttered roll that complemented the seafood without overpowering it. Other visits have been all about the clam cakes, fried seafood, chowder, or one of their other sandwiches. Choosing what to order can actually be the hardest part of the experience. Fortunately, if there's a line, and there often is during the summer, you'll have plenty of time to study the menu and debate your decision. Trust me, you'll need it. Of course, the lobster roll is the headliner. It's the item most people associate with Blount, and there's a good reason for that. Yes, you'll pay a little more than you might elsewhere, but once it arrives you'll understand why. They don't skimp on portions. You're getting a substantial amount of lobster, and every bite tastes fresh and worth the price. Another personal favorite is the whole belly clam roll. If you've had a truly great whole belly clam roll, you know they're hard to forget. Blount's version ranks among the best I've had anywhere. The setup is part of the charm. You wait in line, place your order at what feels like a classic seaside food truck or trailer, then grab a seat under the large tent overlooking the water or at one of the nearby outdoor tables. It's casual, relaxed, and exactly how a Rhode Island summer meal should feel. The supporting cast deserves some praise as well. The fries are consistently excellent. The clam cakes are always fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly, personable, and genuinely helpful, even when they're dealing with long lines and busy crowds. I've never had an interaction that wasn't pleasant. What impresses me most is the consistency. Over the years, I've tried countless items from the menu, and I honestly can't think of a single thing I've regretted ordering. That's a rare accomplishment for any restaurant. I live in Lincoln and work in Boston, and whenever someone tells me they're visiting Rhode Island, Blount immediately goes on my list of recommendations. Yes, getting there may involve crossing the Washington Bridge, and that can sometimes test your patience. That's a discussion for another day. The important thing is that once you arrive and take that first bite, you'll forget all about the drive. Blount Clam Shack on the Waterfront isn't just a great seafood spot. It's one of those places that captures what Rhode Island summers are supposed to feel like. Great food, beautiful views, friendly people, and an atmosphere that keeps you coming back year after year. A true Rhode Island gem and an easy five stars.

There are no trendy menus, no upscale atmosphere, and no attempts to reinvent fish and chips. Honestly, that's part of its charm. I've been coming here for years, and I have to admit that I am probably the least adventurous customer they have. Every time I visit, I order the same thing: fish and chips and a cup of white clam chowder. When something works, why mess with it? The fish is always crispy without being overly greasy, despite what some reviews might lead you to believe. The portions are generous, and the fries have always reminded me a little of the fries served at Wright's Farm. I'm not sure exactly why, but every time I eat them, that's the comparison that comes to mind. The clam chowder is also very good. As a lifelong Rhode Islander, I'm firmly in the white chowder camp, and theirs is done right. It's flavorful, satisfying, and pairs perfectly with the fish and chips. The setup is simple. You order at the counter when you walk in, they give you your number, and you grab a seat in the dining room while you wait for your food. It's efficient, straightforward, and keeps things moving. The staff has always been friendly, and I've never had an issue with service. Another plus is the value. The prices are very reasonable, especially these days when it feels like every restaurant meal costs twice what it did a few years ago. You get plenty of food for your money, and I've never walked away feeling disappointed. Parking is easy thanks to the large lot, which is a small thing that becomes a big thing when you're hungry and just want to get inside without circling the block looking for a spot. We usually stop in every few weeks, and that's probably the best endorsement I can give. If a restaurant keeps earning repeat visits year after year, they're doing something right. This isn't a destination for fine dining, and it isn't trying to be. It's a comfortable, reliable spot serving good fish and chips at fair prices with friendly people behind the counter. Sometimes that's exactly what you're looking for. Four stars.

When I arrived, around 3pm I was one of only 2 tables there. It's counter service and the teenagers taking my order were respectful but not overly kind. They didn't tell me I needed to wait for my order as they wouldn't call it out. But, I digress. The restaurant itself is small but clean. Dated in a cute way. You can tell they've been in business for a long time and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I had seen online that they had a scallop and shrimp plate but that wasn't offered today so I settled for shrimp and fish along with a cup of chowder. All this and a bottle of soda cost $40. Not an amazing price but I thought it was reasonable as a treat. My food came out quickly and I started with the seafood chowder. This chowder is amazing. Very creamy, decadent, and full of fish. I can not recommend it enough. The shrimp were also delicious. They were fried very well and moist. Not greasy at all. I recommend those as well. I have conflicting thoughts on the fish. On one hand I know that the English preparation is a heavy batter. I'm okay with that. But this batter was borderline soggy. No crisp to it whatsoever and the fish inside was completely lost to the breading. Which was honestly too bad because the fish itself was nice and flaky. Do I recommend Ye Olde Fish and Chips? Sure. I like supporting small business and I in they add a lot to the area. Would I get the fish again? No. But I will be first in line for the scallop and shrimp plate if it ever comes back to the menu!
