TL;DR 8/10 for crab boils, service, ambiance, parking, and vibes. -1 for not the greatest chicken wing app, and -1 for nothing wow. Also, offer more shucking tools :) Parking was easy to find, but was just midday Saturday. For this part of town, parking quabity decreases with the sun's position in the sky. Entry wasn't stinky, which we anecdotally use as a sign of things to come. Waitress (Rebecca?) was amazing. Very inviting, chill, but not intrusive: goldilocks zone care. Made everyone in the party feel comfortable immediately, and wasn't a ghost-host: checked in without hovering or jump-scaring. Got complementary water, and ordered chicken wing appetizer, which is freshly-made. We believed this when we got the piping hot wings, but were slightly pink for ideal chicken - keep them in there for 3 more minutes, maybe offer bread or popcorn to balance the intentional hangriness. Cajun seasoned fries hit. Our boils came out pretty quickly. Rebecca peeled the bag open for us, and we dug in. Crab was amazing (fresh, well-cooked, pre-sliced at least for king crab). Potatoes & sausage were a highlight, corn & egg were pretty average. Sauce was true to form, medium was noticeable and hot was a little challenge. We might try the extreme next time we are here. Wanted to get dessert but too full. Beachfest: We had 1 metal crusher thingie for each of us, but only 1 red plastic shucking knife / crab claw. Since we had some young crab noobs in our party, they kept passing the red claw back and forth. Maybe ask if the party wants individual red claws, or just offer them with each crusher? Be prepared for sticker shock, which shouldn't really be too much of a pinch if you're eating crab, in this economy. Weren't sure if we were paying at the table or as we walked out, but figured it out pretty easily. Overall: Again, I'm looking for anything to balance out how good this was... would definitely visit Cap't Loui's again when we our crustacean cravings boil over.

Shrimp, mussels, crawfish, calamari (comes with potatoes and corn, and we added sausage) - Seafood boil with shrimp, crawfish, sausage, corn on the cob, and potatoes served in a clear plastic bag, with a side of noodles and a small cup of sauce on the table. The dish is presented in a casual setting, typical of seafood boil restaurants.

We came here as a treat for Mother's Day, and we were not disappointed! We love a good seafood boil. Their sauce was unique to us (we are used to MD style with old bay) - it's super tasty, and I'd go so far as to ask for the recipe or a bottle of the stuff! The staff was very friendly upon arrival, both the hostess and waitress. The market prices are easily visible on the wall. Their menu is easy to follow, especially for someone who had never been here before. The food and drinks (we got a captrisun - I'm sure I misspelled that) were all delicious. Easy cleanup with the bibs, gloves, table cover, etc. We will definitely be back!

The seafood was good not great, but being from New England we are lucky to have seafood in abundance. The service was nice, friendly and answered all are hundreds of questions with a smile. The drinks are top notch l, I recommend the Mr rich! The atmosphere is nice friendly, casual and I will return.

A glass containing a beverage with ice cubes and herbs is positioned on a seafood-themed tablecloth decorated with illustrations of lobsters, crabs, and other seafood items. The tablecloth also displays the restaurant's logo and branding for Cap't Loui, a seafood restaurant known for seafood boils. A paper bag with condiments or utensils is partially visible in the upper left corner.

Good and affordable seafood - and they have specials throughout the week that make this place worth a visit. The restaurant is spacious with rooms to accommodate any party size, but it still has a cozy feel. Good customer service and wait times as well. Nice addition to Fed Hill and they have their own parking lot, which is a plus.

this was my first seafood boil experience at capt loui and everything exceeded my expectations! i walked in and was greeted by a friendly hostess and was promptly seated and provided water. the place was fairly clean, spacious, and the decor was industrial and seasonal (some spooky szn decor). i immediately noticed that they had immaculate taste in music because old rnb was playing the whole time and i was in such a mood. whoever picked the music on wednesday night needs to be in charge of music all the time. we came on a wednesday so there was a deal for a $20 lobster. the server had amazing rapport with us and gave us excellent recommendations. she immediately knew this was my first time at capt loui. we originally wanted to do a half pound of crawfish and half pound of shrimp in capt loui seasoning (cajun), but they accidentally gave us a full pound of each. needless to say there was a ton of food but we still demolished it so she def did us a favor lol! with an order of two whole pounds you get a free side (three pounds = 2 free sides, etc) so we ordered fries as a side. the boil includes potatoes and corn. i also ordered a strawberry lemonade in addition which imo was perfect to pair with the boil. the taste? *chefs kiss*. our server told us that the person who made our order was new, but the food still tasted amazing. we wanted medium spice and it was actually medium spice... a tolerable level of spicy. the seasoning was on point. at the end the total still came out to be more than reasonable, approx $85 incl tip for 3 lbs of seafood boil, for the both of us. the complimentary mouthwash in the bathroom was a nice touch. i'd honestly come back just for the service but with that much food and that price, i'm definitely coming back for more. capt loui providence was a great first experience for me and i recommend this for anyone who are craving some good seasoned fresh seafood for a fair price and excellent service! ps. there's parking in the back! drive through the side of the restaurant and the whole row in the very back of the lot will have designations for capt loui guests on it.

Pro tip: this isn't on the menu but ask for garlic butter sauce. Got 2 lobsters, mussels, and shrimp and they were all so tasty. Perfectly cooked and would definitely recommend checking out when in providence!

This is a very great seafood restaurant here in Providence. First the parking is great, they have parking in the rear which makes it very convenient. They have all kinda combos and even they don't list the price of the seafood online, the price is very fair. I love their Cajun flavor! The spiciness is on point. The staff here is very nice, great service and very responsive. Deby was great! I definitely recommend you guys to come check this place out!

If your looking for a good seafood boil. This place is it! The mussels are HUGE, Shrimps are juicy and the mild sauce was spicy and flavorful. Oh and this place has REAL corn. None of that frozen corn which made me so happy. Customer service was decent. I ordered this to go because parking on federal hill is the worst if you know you know. But I would consider eating inside just because your house will smell like seafood.

My server was so attentive and friendly! The restaurant was very clean, the food was delicious! Probably one of the best boils I've had! Adult Capri suns are just too much fun! Not to mention mouthwash available in the bathroom lol!

I used to drive an hr to the Braintree location just to get some bomb seafood broil but now, it only takes me 8 min to get here! Cap't Loui is the best seafood broil spot to me because of their food/drinks, authenticity, ambience, professionalism, and customer service so I'm super thankful that they're here on Atwells Ave (Fedhill), Providence. We all know it's hard to find parking here so remember that there is parking for Cap't Loui customers in the back! They've always treated customers like family so that's why I highly recommend this place. This spot is Family-friendly, Date-friendly (there's a mouth wash dispensary in the powder room), they have the capability to host big parties, and more. I can't think of the last time I wrote a Yelp review but this one is worth it. I recommend you choose them for your next seafood broil eats! You'll see what I'm talking about.

Garlic noodles - A portion of garlic noodles is presented in a basket lined with parchment paper. The noodles are topped with grated cheese and sprinkled with chopped herbs, likely parsley. A white plastic fork rests on the noodles, and part of a plastic bag or container is visible in the background.

Solid cajun seafood boil place. I've been to the Cap't Loui at South Shore Mall before. This one is more airy/open, with a laid-back vibe. Lots of natural light in the space. Service was super friendly. We got a pick 2 with shrimp and clams and it comes with potatoes and corn. You get a free side so we got sausage. It also comes with unlimited garlic noodles. I feel like they need to advertise that more because the noodles must have crack in them they are soooo garlicky, savory and good. I don't wanna know how much butter is in them! The Cajun seasoning is delicious and the seafood tasted fresh. Sausage is good too as it's not too salty. It is a bit pricey, but it's a fun experience and we were full and satisfied.

One of my favorite places for seafood. Coming from a Portuguese family food and flavors are a BIG part of my culture and I can be pretty judgmental when it comes to the quality and flavors of the foods I eat. This is the 5th time I come to Cap't Loui so that in itself used saying a lot! My job takes me all over the world and I can say the seafood in New England is one of the top and Cap't Loui certainly does it justice with the flavors it's preparation. We love Cap't Loui's house special sauce with its abundance of garlic and spices. The best I've had compared to all other seafood boil restaurant. The staff are friendly, attentive and well informed. Keep up the great work Cap't Loui! I'll definitely be back!

Making a reservation online was easy peasy and so was parking since it was a Sunday and free :) Immediately greeted and seated for our reservation. Our server Destiny was prompt, friendly and energetic. All the staff were kind and friendly to be honest. We started out with some nifty lattes and a chocolate bomb hot cocoa that was as entertaining as it was delicious. Then came the puff cakes. The s'mores had a liquid chocolate topping that flowed like lava. The strawberry was smothered in custard and berries, and the plain were as advertised. Even though the smothered versions aren't quite as healthy, the toppings helped add some needed flavor. The light and airy risen puff cake by itself is a bit plain just like a regular plain pancake would be and just need a little something to add some flavor; even if it's just some maple syrup. I will add that the custard and chocolate topping by themselves were really tasty. All in all it was a wonderful experience that I look forward to trying again in the future!

Usually this place is cajun seafood boil place so this review will only cover their Japanese pancake offering. It's a restaurant located on federal hill. Parking can be difficult to find but we were able to find some parkings on the street beside the restaurant. They have covered patio and inside is rather smaller area with some seatings, counter and a bar. They seem to be busy so we did have our reservation which we made about hour prior to coming to the location. I would recommend for those that want to come here. Once we arrived we were immediately sat down and looked through their menu. They offer variety of Japanese fluffy pancake paired with sweets and fruits or savory option as well. They offer some drinks mainly lattes and juice. I ended up getting the breakfast scramble pancake and hot cocoa bomb. Food came out first. The breakfast came with 2 fluffy pancake, scrambled eggs with scallions, home fries, sausage, onions, and maple syrup. The pancake was fluffy and paired well with the sides. I feel like though something like hollandaise sauce would have taken the dish up a notch instead of just simple maple syrup. The hot cocoa bomb was interesting as you get the cup with marshmallow rim and a chocolate ball where you pour hot milk yo melt and mix the chocolate. Conceptually fun but chocolate wasn't great quality and didn't mix well and marshmallow rim was hard to eat. Taste was ok it ended up tasting like light chocolate and more milk since chocolate didn't mix well. Service was good and staffs were nice. The order came out in about 5-10 minutes Overall I think the place is ok. Definitely has its own place in RI because of the Japanese pancake offering which we don't see a-lot of place do yet. But aside from that food was ok and price was expensive for what they offer. I ended up paying about $80 for 2 pancake and drinks. I had Japanese fluffy pancake and drinks for about half of that price in Japan that was better quality. If you want Japanese fluffy pancake and can't make it yourself this is the place at least for now.

We ended up ordering 2 crunchy tacos and 2 soft tacos, beef and pork. To accompany the tacos, we tried their buff-a-que wings. We thought $15 was a lot for wings since it was on the appetizer menu, but it came with 10 wings so not bad. They were okay; the skin was grilled, but the flavor was a but subtle.
