The long space offers a front dining room in the front and the bar area with seating at the bar and additional tables in the back room. The bar offers 3 draft beers, bottle/can beers, sangria, cocktails, mocktails, and other non-alcoholic drinks. I stopped by Vincent Restaurant for an early evening dinner. The place was quiet and I headed to the back bar area and took a seat. I was given a menu and I ordered a Poland Spring Bottled Water ($3 plus tax) with a glass of ice. I decided on two starters and an entree including the Empanadas Trio ($6 plus tax), Pork Dumplings ($8 plus tax) and the Canoe Vint Vint ($20 plus tax). The food dishes came out one at a time within 10 minutes after ordering. The Empanadas Trio were nicely presented, good sized deep fried pastry shells with tomato and creamy yum yum drizzles filled minimally ground beef, melted cheese, and shredded chicken, creamy yum yum sauce for dipping. The Pork Dumplings (4) were pan fried filled with soft ground pork and soy sauce for dipping, served very hot. The Canoe Vint Vint, a modest portion nicely presented with soft ripe sweet plantain stuffed with cheese & seasoned ground beef & a house salad over spring mix greens. After I finished my food, the check was presented which had an automatic 20 percent large group gratuity added (one person here???) and the Empanadas Trio was actually $8 plus tax. I was told the menu had a price typo, but they charged me the original $6 plus tax for the Empanadas. I paid cash and headed back on the road. The staff thanked me for stopping in.

This place has only been open for 2 months and I will be back because the menu looks great, the staff was friendly and it had a fun vibe. How were the wings you ask? Very good. Lightly breaded with a solid buffalo sauce (it was a toss up between buffalo and sweet chili, but the heat always wins in a toss up). The wings had plenty of sauce and I enjoyed my visit. I am looking forward to returning.

One friend had the Lomo Saltado, which I tried and it was very good, and another had one of the other steak dishes, topped with a fried egg, and said it was great. He also can't have dairy and explained that to the waiter, who was very good at making sure nothing was cooked in butter for him. I wasn't going to get a drink, but my friends were drinking so I ended up getting the Pisco Sour, which was great. My friends said this restaurant used to be a lot smaller and then they expanded a few years ago, as well. I think there is street parking but I didn't want to have to find it, so I did valet - it's five dollars (plus tip) and they add it onto your bill. For some reason it ended up being $9.06 for our two cars, which I don't understand, but whatever lol. The only tiny nitpicky thing I have to say about this place is that the service was a bit slow. The waiter did check on us quite a bit, but the place was packed so I understand having slow service, it took a while to get our food. Got here right after 5pm, so luckily there was no wait, and as a party of 1, I got seated right away. And that's where things went downhill. My server, Joe I think his name was, he came by with the menu and took my order. But, that's all he did - he didn't bother telling me anything about any specials, or what the items contained besides what was written on the menu. Unfortunately, this was especially jarring, because the table behind me (which was seated after I was) had a different server, who actually told them the dinner specials and explained the food items to those diners for a good 10+ minutes, after asking them if they'd been here before and them telling him that it was their first time at Los Andes. And my experience? Completely the opposite, because not only was I not asked if I'd been to Los Andes before, but no mention was made of any daily specials or any other things besides asking me what I wanted. In fact, I wasn't even aware that there were any specials at all, until the server of the table behind me was explaining the specials to them! Now, I've been at lots of places for food, both upscale and otherwise, and mostly have had to go in alone during the course of my work trips, so I'm not a stranger to dining alone. But here, the way I was treated, as if being alone meant that I wouldn't order much food, and therefore needed to be hurried away ASAP, that didn't sit right with me. Now, to be objective in my review, the food is good. I tried the empanada which was average (the crust was dry but the filling was good), but the anticuchos appetizer was really phenomenal, and the salmon entree was good (could've been better in my opinion, but wasn't bad at all, and the salmon wasn't too dry, but the best part of the entree was the rice). And to end my meal (with lackluster service), I tried the flan, which unfortunately was equally lackluster. It wasn't too sweet, so that's good if you're not a fan of overly sweet desserts, but I didn't get the caramel taste beyond a very thin veneer on top, and the whipped cream on the side was a very disappointing accompaniment. Not only is that a shame, but it's also more a shame that the service, or lack thereof, lets this place down, especially if you're by yourself or have a smaller party.

The main differences were; 1. While they are both cafeteria style, Pito's is a lot less crowded (mainly because they are a lot faster) 2. La Gran Parada has been remodeled and has a nice and big dining room. Pito's is more like a shabby little pizza joint 3. Pito's is cheaper (although they are both cheap). Ox tails in particular were cheaper. 4. La Gran Parada has more choices 5 Pito's only has street parking I think We tried the ox tails (rabo), pig's ears, stewed chicken and fried bananas with both white and yellow rice. It was all very good. Pig's ears is an acquired taste (actually more of an acquired texture as the sauce is what gives it taste). It is "blubbery" like tripe but can also be a bit grissly. It's definitely different but I liked it-maybe not enough to order it again though. Next time I want to try the chicharron which I love and compare it with La Gran Parada which was very good.

It is an intimidating part of town to be in, but the people that work there are such sweethearts, and the clientele is charming. Everyone is "Mi amor" to the staff. That's the kind of place it is.
