There is a few in Boston that is good but this right here, I might have to say it's better lol on our way back from New York , we stopped by here for lunch. They have their own parking lot in the back. It's a hot bar but also a whole restaurant lol the interior is so nice that take out is a very hard option to do because you want to dine in lol For two large entrees and a large spaghetti, it came out to be $42. This also includes a drink! I got the stewed chicken, stewed goat, and spaghetti. If you never had Dominican spaghetti before, please do try! It's super flavorful, a little sweet, and a little salty. It's so good. Stewed chicken was good but not the best. What one lacks, the other compliments. The rice here is so moist and fluffy. Along with the sides they offer. I opted for macaroni salad. Highly recommended. The stewed goat was a little salty but that's up my alley lol I can see it being a little issue for some but I love salty food lol Very disappointed they didn't have oxtails though. Found this restaurant by chance as a backup option. I usually go to Union Supermarket & Restaurant for a combo plate, since it's right off the freeway and close to Good Fortune Asian grocery store, but none of the items I wanted were available. You order the food at the counter cafeteria-style. I would highly recommend checking out the menu online and order the dishes in Spanish. I loved that I felt like I was vacationing in the Caribbean when I entered. Contrary to some negative reviews, the people who work here were welcoming even though there were communication barriers. Excellent oxtail stew and yellow rice with beans. I'm guessing that the food is pricier than other Dominican restaurants in the area because of the nicer dining area and higher quality of the food. Expect a line when you come here but just know this means the food is good and fresh. Hot, fresh dishes are constantly coming out of the kitchen to replace empty ones. There's plenty of seating and the place is clean. It's not fancy but it's good. They've got a huge variety of rice dishes, seafood dishes (including entire fried snapper), meat dishes and sides as well as juices and desserts. They know how to do Dominican food and the 5 star reviews are well deserved. Price is right and portions are generous. You won't be left hungry that's for sure. The food here continues to decline despite the long line and wait time. Sancocho -- the single shredded chicken wing had feathers on it. I get using fresh and authentic products but there were more than just a few feathers. It makes me question how well they are cleaning the food they service. Pastelitos -- 4 beef, all 4 were visibly double fried and we could taste the refrigerator taste that food gets when you store it in a dirty fridge or uncovered. The food from la gran parada is always tasty but if you're craving Dominican food be sure to ALWAYS and i mean always wait 40 minute minimum. I tend to forget this and always show up hungry and end up leaving hangry because no matter if it's 2,5 or 8 people ahead of you it will take them no less than 40 minutes to get you out the door. The ladies are always talking about their personal businesses amongst each other, laughing, screaming silly things at the cooks, looking at posts on their cell or just moving super slow. this last time I took note and it took my server 10 minutes to serve some rice on a to go container cuz she got caught up in the salad station whispering to her coworker and side eyeing the other girls. The food is already prepared it shouldn't be that hard and everyone in line waiting and waiting is always annoyed and sharing frustration amongst one another. @la gran parada - please make your service what it's supposed to be a line service. One person serves the rice/salads and passes it off to the meats and then passes it off to the beans/soups or meat pies and finally the cashier can serve drinks. Have to say it's probably the cleanest and largest layout for this type of restaurant in the area. I just don't understand their system of ordering and how back asswards that whole process is. It's the slowest process. It's so excruciating to stand waiting in the line that never seems to move. Well worth the wait!!!! The line was a bit long but don't let that steer you away! The food is amazing and the portion sizes are great. I got a medium plate (only $8) and it was more than enough to last me two meals. The price is unbeatable.
