The presentation of everything was next level and truly perfect. The details on the dishes and cups and also the way the items were plated were the prettiest I have ever seen at any place. The attention to detail is very easy to see. The staff here goes above and beyond to make the experience of each customer super special. It was truly magical. Afternoon tea experience was one of the best things I've done in a long time. Everything was so delicious. Service was so kind and informative. 8/26. Ordered the Yellow Chicken Curry with coconut rice. They must have changed chef's here. Traditional Thai Yellow Curry is not meant to be spicy but, this one made my mouth burn and eyes water. The previous chef made it correctly but, not the current one. We have tried this dish two times here, recently. This dish was full of red chili peppers. I visited Tong D with Meg M today! I have only been once before a few years ago for takeout. I remember picking up the food and noticing how beautiful it was and the food was delicious. I was so happy to visit again and dine in today. I don't know what took me so long to come back! We came for high tea and stayed for dinner. We first split the macaron tea which was a perfect blend of vanilla, almond, and a touch of sweet. The tea set itself was so beautiful too! We had a few appetizers with it and a flight of sauces! Everything was delicious. We also had cocktails and I had a lemon ginger cocktail. I love ginger and this cocktail actually had ginger in it, so good! For dinner I had khao soi which was a dream. I had mine served with tofu and veggies. My friend had pad thai. Again... all delicious! We ended the meal with more tea and desserts! The coconut rice with mango was fantastic! All the food was delicious but the presentation of the food was out of this world. They have the most beautiful baskets that are from Thailand and all of the flowers and garnishes are so fresh. Wow. I tried Tong-D for the first time since moving to Barrington last year and I wish I wouldn't have waited so long! I met a friend for lunch and ordered from their lunch menu and it was perfection. The presentation of the starters, which you get to select from was amazing and the coconut soup was some of the best I've ever had. The lunch menu is quite large with diverse options and was so filling I didn't even eat dinner. The Pad Thai was my favorite I've ordered since I've moved to the East Coast. The food was very authentic (I lived in Thailand for 7 years) and they were very good at adapting to our special requests for levels of spiciness and changing ingredients. The staff were friendly and attentive, even though there 14 of us to serve everyone was extremely happy. This was the best Khao Soi so I've had in Providence. It was comparable to what I am used to being from the West Coast. Perfectly spicy and well cooked. I appreciated that the chicken wasn't a large drumstick, but rather more grilled chicken slices in the soup and the noodles were plenty. Homey Thai restaurant in a convenient location. I liked the decor while dining there, especially the Christmas tree that is up all year round. The service was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the yellow curry and thought the portion size was generous. The papaya salad was a bit too salty for me as the fish sauce was a bit heavy handed. 1st visit here after hearing Khao Soi was added on the menu. I've traveled through Thailand many times and Khao Soi is my favorite dish found in the north provinces of Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai. It's delicious and very difficult to find an authentic version in the U.S. if you can find it at all. I ordered takeout Khao Soi, Pad Kee Mao, crispy spring rolls & gai satay.
