We split some veggie topped and one fusion roll. The only veggie roll I liked was the avocado peanut. The others were super flavorful. The fusion roll was great though. It was deep fried and perfectly put together. Overall the service was okay. We felt like outsiders because the staff seemed to know everyone else there. I stopped in on a Saturday for lunch and was surprised to find no other customers. While I was eating I did notice a lot of to-go orders going out so this might be their primary business. I ordered the Yuzu Ora King Salmon appetizer and Fashion roll. They are a little pricey at around $20 dollars a dish but I felt it was worth the price. I loveeeee Sushi and Miku honestly has some of the best! I will say that the vibes inside the restaurant have not been the same ever since Covid I feel like it's really only a "to-go" type of restaurant even though there's seating inside. Maybe this is a me problem but I swear there's always more take out orders than people dining inside. Some of my favorite menu items from here: the princess roll (spicy crab meat on top of a shrimp and avocado sushi roll), MISO SOUP (some of the best I have ever had), shrimp tempura roll, and the chicken hibachi meal- so yummy. Probably the best Asian food I have had in the east bay. The udon noodle dishes are delicious. The fried rice has so much flavor compared to the normal Chinese restaurants. This is the first place I didn't have to load the fried rice up with condiments give it flavor. The fried rice is also not dry like so many other places. I have had the Omakase several times and it's very good. One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. And this is crazy to say because I only ordered takeout. After ordering they told me it would take 30 minutes to be ready. I waited 30 minutes before I arrived and then I had to wait another 30 minutes just for 3 rolls of sushi. Out of the 30+ minutes I was there only 2 people were actually working and the rest were just kids laughing and talking to each other the entire time. Not a single worker came to apologize for the inconvenience. Not to mention the food was below average. I normally am patient when there is a delay but there was 2 other people in the restaurant. Disappointing experience. The Philly roll had raw asparagus inside of it instead of cucumber, which made it nearly impossible to chew. They probably put an entire block of cream cheese per roll, incredibly overpowering. I asked if the Spider roll was "Raw, not fried" and I was told correct, it is not fried. Got home with my take out, it's a deep fried roll. The spicy crab roll was the only good/edible roll I purchased. Sadly, I tried this place And deviated from my normal sushi spot, and I was less than impressed. I am so lucky that some of the best sushi in Rhode Island is so accessible to me! Miku is the BEST. Sushi is by far my favorite food, so I am VERY picky ... Miku is 10/10. Their rolls have by far the best fish to rice ratio I've ever seen!! A favorite of mine is the yellowtail jalapeño roll. I love doing the lunch specials because you can get 3 rolls for 18 dollars and a miso soup. You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. They offer in house dining and have a full bar, I usually do takeout but I've eaten in before and the service is great!! I ordered the "Sesame Chicken" entree. It is described in the menu as "Sesame Chicken (D) Grilled white meat chicken w.japanese style sesame sauce" It showed up as chicken breast baked or pan-fried, crused entirely in sesame seeds. The seeds were not much toasted by the cooking process and didn't have any appealing nutty flavor. They didn't create a crunch, per-se, but made a kind of hide around the meat. It was like eating fish with the skin on, or baked pangolin! The meat inside was not dry or undercooked. But neither was it spiced or seasoned. It had the flavor of plain, unsalted chicken breast. There was a side of sauce to go with it. It tasted more-or-less fine, on its own. It was basically a creamy peanut sauce you might get in a jar from the supermarket. I Didn't bother trying it on the chicken, because the chicken was just so unpleasant to have in your mouth, sauce was beside the point. Is this a dish anyone orders twice? Or even comes back to try something else after trying it? I definitely feel like I was lied to by the menu description . And I have no intention of ever going back. Veggie Pad Thai was sweet but bland, without a good balance of the other classic flavor components: sour and (we didn't as for it mild) heat. very liitle umamai. No veggies. Veggie Udon was very tasty. If I had to guess, it tasted more of vegetable bouillon than any more traditional ingredients for bringing savoriness and saltiness. I doubt it was made with,e.g., mushroom broth, miso paste, drop of fish sauce, etc. Plenty of well cooked veggies. Broccoli and snap peas etc. and all were cooked but with a nice crunch. read more

This place rocks. First time ordering take out - no dine in option because of COVID-19 but happy to do take out. Although the pictures that I uploaded are probably not the way they would be served, and I am certain that they would be much, much better. I must say they tried to make them presentable even in generic plastic containers. I am also thankful that they did not cover the sushi with tons of sauces and drown out the taste of fish and rice. Enough about the background on how I got to have the food here for the first time - let's get to the food discussion. I ordered 3 dinner dishes. 1. 10 piece Omakase Sushi plate 2. Chicken Fried Rice 3. Chicken Tempura. A bit heavy on the chicken but I have to please children and my gal who grew up with generic highly processed American food... as I digress. The sushi - Omakase with 10 pieces was, I thought, well executed. It is a bit harder to do omakase in take out. The joy of omakase, I believe, is serendipity and excitement of not knowing what is going to come out next, after the first bite of works of art on the sushi bar stool. Anyways, I am very pleased with the sushi pieces - particularly seasoned and property cooked rice. The rice was not mushy nor dry and under cooked. It was a bit on the hard side but still well within good acceptable rice texture. The only down side I can think of is the number of pieces - only 10 individually unique piece. I am accustomed to having two pieces per order. May be that is how it will be when I actually sit down at the sushi counter. The chicken tempura came with an assortment of veggie tempura. I thought the star of this dish was the veggies, not the chicken. So let's actually start with the veggies. The veggies were cooked with the right amount of tempura batter and cooked just right. It was not greasy no doughy. The trick of cooking tempura properly is to use very thin amount of batter. Getting the oil temp right is hard. They got it right. My favorite veggie was the Japanese pumpkin - i.e. kabocha. The chicken pieces where covered in panko and fried. It was more like chicken katsu than tempura, but still very good. The chicken was cooked perfectly - crunchy panko on the outside, but moist in the inside... Now, all I have to do it come back and check out other menu items when it is fully open for table service. The decor looks good to bring my honey for a kid-less date night, when it actual opens back up again. read more

Great lunch spot! I work in Barrington, and I'm not the best at packing a lunch. Miku has great lunch specials. I stick with the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box, with the salad. It is such a deal IMO. A piece of salmon in delicious sauce over a little veg. Shumai, California roll and white rice. It is always ready fast, and always delicious. When they say 15 minutes, they mean it - and usually when I get there in 10 it is ready. I would give five stars, but the veggies under the salmon aren't always the same - sometimes there is broccoli, sometimes there isn't. I don't know a ton about authentic sushi or Japanese food but we have ordered Miku a bunch during the pandemic. We usually order a bunch of maki and some bigger rolls, a couple apps and at least 1 or 2 entrees for our family of five to all share. It's usually about $60-80 and we always fear we won't have enough food but it's always enough! What strikes me about this place more than anything is how fresh everything seems. I like the small salad that comes with the entrees. The crab Rangoon is the best one in the area if you're into that sort of thing. I also like the crispy scallop roll and the tofu teriyaki. So again.. I don't know if this is "amazing" sushi or not but Barrington isn't exactly the capitol of amazing dining.. so that said I never regret ordering from here which is more than I can say for nearly ever other pizzeria, Chinese restaurant, or other popular take out place nearby. read more

I got this place for delivery for lunch one day. I got the shrimp/mango lettuce wraps. (Very nime chow like) they were delicious. But they did fall apart. But still good. I also had a scallop tempura roll that was delicious as well the delivery person left a my door just as requested. While the food never disappoints, the service is sub par. With a polite approach as a customer I would never expect to be treated the way I do when I go in here. We stoped in for a late night dinner the other day. The place is clean and nice with all the decretive lights. Great place to bring a date. I order the hibachi combo with fried rice everything is very tasty and fresh. The steak came out medium rear just the way I requested. My date had a few sushi rolls which were fresh. This place is good enough for this area and I can see myself coming back here more often because they serve quality Chinese food as well. The owner is very friendly. The have a nice bar. read more

Miku has some really great food and the beer is cold. They will adjust the menu to your needs and get the order right the first time. However, we won't be going back to this restaurant. The workers' children are ALWAYS in the restaurant outside of school hours and they sit at the tables out on the floor where people are eating. They go behind the bar and last time we were there one of them had her finger deep in her nose. I don't mean to be insensitive at all but that was the last straw for me. Don't want to look at that while I'm eating. Secondly, the servers (most of them) are not friendly. They had a bartender whom was nice, Kate, but I haven't seen her there the last few times we went there. Now don't get me wrong, I think the sushi here is good for a Chinese interpretation of sushi, unfortunately it just does not live up to my Japanese standards after having lived in Japan for a few years. They also say they have fresh seafood "air shipped" from Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, but it did not taste that fresh but rather bland and flavorless. The presentation of the appetizers and rolls my group ordered were very well put together, but again lacked that Japanese authenticity. I understand presentation is a very big deal, but authentic taste is even more important to me. Regardless of the rather high pricing and fair quality of seafood, I am happy to say the service provided to us was very friendly and fast. While I may seem critical of this restaurant, I also want to convey my appreciation of the decor and accessibility of this location.
