Well HELLO ! I can't believe I have never been here before and it's right in town. Local cute bar/restaurant. Very clean, modern vibe. Menu had a decent amount of options.. I had chicken tacos, which as a taco fanatic , they were really great, I'm impressed. My dad met me for lunch and had a steak sandwich which he said was delicious (he loves stopping there for lunch, keno etc lol ) - they have bingo, trivia, bands all nights of the week! Went to a fun Music Bingo night with the girls! They had a few specials and 4 girls got the special they split 2 orders and I'm not sure if the name but they said it was amazing! Two had the Mac daddy burger n fries & was fantastic big portion too! Drink specials were great , bartender / servers were so friendly and great service! We've never eaten there so I can't review the food aspect but we found this venue is a nice local place to stop in for a drink, the owner Jen is usually behind the bar, and is great. However last night the two bartenders that were working, were horrible. It took forever to get their attention to order a drink because they were too busy flirting with customers who were buying them shots, and they were also stocking the coolers while on shift. Mind you this was not a few beers they were restocking, this was cases of beer and filling all the coolers. And this was at 10:30 pm, the band was still playing and it was not close to closing time. Seemed like they were more interested in trying to get their end of shift work done in order to get out of there right at closing, than bartering. This is a really cute little establishment located on Putnam Pike in Johnston. Their menu is limited but very good. We had the calamari and loaded nachos with chicken. On weekends Escada provides live entertainment and many times there's no cover charge. Bartenders are always friendly! Nice tv screens to watch the games currently playing. The drinks are great and the prices are reasonable. I enjoy coming here on occasion after work to catch up with friends. read more

Comfortable Sadly, we've lived in the area for years before we tried Escada. They have some great deals on food and drinks daily and the bartenders are extremely friendly. We tend to see patrons from our other bar haunts here when we visit. The food is fresh and the beer is cold. They make a delicious expresso martini. Tip: Side disk of fettuccini alfredo is only 5 bucks, delicious. Tip 2: Great deal on Sundays, a bunch of cheap apps and beer specials. Also a Bloody Mary special. Escada Bar is one of those unassuming places that if you have never heard of them, you could drive by and not realize what is there. Having been there a few times now over the years, one thing that I can say is the food is always consistently good. I don't think it'll qualify as the best I ever had, but its far from the worst with nice sized portions and very reasonably priced. I had the chicken parm sandwich and it was definitely loaded with chicken and delicious. I would have liked a little more cheese and maybe a bit more sauce, but that's personal preference. What matters more is that it tasted good. The staff is always friendly and checks on you often enough so that you're taken care of but not so much that you can't have a conversation. As an added bonus, they do have entertainment in the evenings and while I'm biased, my friends The Complaints play there on Wed night and sometimes on a weekend and should definitely be checked out. The band gets 5 stars haha. Don't let the strip mall exterior deter you from going there and getting a good affordable meal, reasonably priced drinks and awesome entertainment. read more

If you're looking to have an evening of dinner and dancing, this is for you. Food is good and they get some great bands. Only criticisms are that the bands start time is 9:30pm (a little later than most) and the dance floor is small. But it's always a good time! Update: Here again and amazed by the food and service. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with onion rings - OMG! Possibly the best tings ever! And the sandwich was to die for. My date ordered the chicken parmigiana sandwich and was also pleased. Loved this nice little place! We went on Saturday night and it was busy but not crowded and they held a table for us. Our server was so pleasant and let us bring a small birthday cake and she put it in the refrigerator for us. The food was very good- I had fish and chips- not greasy , and a nice fresh salad. We had chicken wrap with fries, salmon dinner and scrod and everything was very delicious. Chicken wings for an appetizer that were very good also. The topping was the awesome music!! I wasn't sure what to expect from this place driving by. I always enjoy trying somehere new so here we are. A large sports bar with dim lighting. Tvs in every view. About a dozen tables including booths and high tops We started off with the Sunday night app specials: $3 mozzarella sticks & potatoe skins. The mozarella sticks were fresh, crispy and savory. I started my meal with honestly one of the most delicous cheesy caesar salads. The Chicken Marsala was covered with mushroms and a sweet demi-glaze. The chicken was moist and they gave two large pieces. The Fettuccini Alfredo was one of my favorites ive had. The sauce was thick and cheesy. The service was attentive with a smile. Escada's has the best philly cheese steaks! I just found out that on Thursdays their special is philly cheese steaks so they're a little cheaper than other days. Not only are their philly cheese Steaks good, but also their sangria. I usually order 2-3 glasses before I say "ok, that's enough". Service is great and the restaurant is well kept. Gotta give it up to Escada, they have a good thing going. I picked up some Chicken Marsala to-go and it was enough for 2 portions..easily. We went back a few nights later for some drinks and had a great time. Good mix of locals, drinks were perfect, friendly bartenders, and the band was excellent! The best way to describe this dining experience is a bar and grille, rather than restaurant, with upscale food. He is definitely the main stage in here. You totally get the "local place" neighborhood bar feel in this place. The bartenders were really cool and the ambience was casual cool. The food was definitely impressive! The mozzarella squares were perfect complimented by the chunky marinara. Yum! Yum! The skins were underwhelming but who cares, it's just a potato!! I ordered the Caesar and was very pleased with the dressing. You could taste the citrus and Parmesan yumminess with homemade croutons! For dinner I had the Chix Parm which was a great portion. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was robust and tasty. I tried my friends Alfredo and loved how thick and cheesy it was. Honestly compliments to the chef!! I will definitely be back. Solid little bar in a strip mall on the Johnston - North Prov line. Food is decent and the beer is cold. The decor is just kind of like bought on Ikea and Amazon nothing special, you might see the same interior in 20,000 bars across America. Escada is a gem in a mini mall. I would have never known they were there otherwise, but now I won't forget. Their wings are nothing to brag about in the way of meatiness, but they pack a punch. A plate comes with about 8 wings but every wing seemed almost meticulously slathered with the perfect amount of sauce that superseded my expectations. The flavor was great and the heat was definitely present. They've definitely perfected the ratio needed to have an enjoyable wing experience. This place is the best bar/restaurant in RI. Everyone is really nice and the food is the best ever. I've eaten at 376 different restaurants in the whole world and this place is #1 in every category. No place even comes close. I keep a diary of everything I do, so really the number is 376. The 5 dollar burgers on Sunday are just unreal. I had seafood chowder that was so good , I know it could win the chowder cookoff we have in RI. We found Escada at a holiday party last year. We were impressed with the food offered buffet style. We hadn't stopped in before assuming it was just a bar. Boy were we wrong. Everything on the menu is top notch. Great soups, sandwiches, apps and pasta dishes. My husband stops in for a quick lunch often during the week. He raves and makes me jealous that I missed it. (I'm pretty sure he said he ate there 3 or 4 times last week) Their chicken parm grinders are delicious. The gumbo is amazing. And the Mac and cheese they made for my step son was so good. It should be on the menu. We love Amy and all of their servers are very nice. If your looking for a laid back place to eat good food Escada is a great place to try. You will be hooked like we are. I am about five miles from here and finally decided to check it out. It's located in a small plaza that you would probably never expect a bar to be in. It's a cozy place. The bar is huge and spans most of the building. The bartenders all female when I was there were very sweet.. All of them were attentive and kept asking if we wanted more drinks. They have small local bands play a few nights a week and do not have a cover charge which is great. I always get annoyed paying a cover charge when I'm going to be spending a fortune on alcohol. Parking is free also. Speaking of alcohol the prices are reasonable and the pours generous. It's a great place to just hang out and relax and have a few cocktails. I will be back for dinner one of these days since they seem to have some good stuff. read more

Pretty good townie bar. Went with one other person around 10pm on a Monday night and sat at the bar. It was nice that they were serving their full menu till 11pm. We got the teriyaki beef sticks, Hawaiian pizza, and rigatoni ala vodka /w sausage. Food was all very delicious. I recognized the teriyaki sauce being soy vey, as I buy the same one at the market. Good choice! Meat was very tender. Had wine iced cream for dessert, which was a first. Also good. Both bartenders were very nice. My only complaint was that service was a bit slow. We didn't leave till about 11:50. Seriously almost 2 hours for dinner? I can be in & out of a restaurant in 45 minutes normally. Bartenders were pre-occupied rolling up utensils and doing dishes rather than serving. One thing I'm big on is uniformity. I realize it was late, but I expect the same service anytime a restaurant is open. I'd definitely try it again though. read more

Saw this on restaurant.com so decided to try it. It is located in a strip mall but upon entering, the decor is quite nice, great lighting. There was a guitarist playing at the time on a Tuesday night. I noticed they have numerous special throughout the week as there were signs everywhere advertising certain days. The bar is quite large with numerous TVs but we chose a booth so we were a little away from the music. It took a long time for someone to acknowledge us and this was the trend most of the night. I have to assume it was due to a lack of staff as all I saw was one bartender and one server. She came over and took our drink order then dropped them off quickly so we had to wait to order an app. When she finally reappeared we ordered the chicken nachos and our meals in case we had to wait longer. Now the chicken nachos were amazing! There was loads of cheese, I am pretty sure not one chip was lacking cheese and it came with a bunch of sour cream. At this point I was turning my opinion around. We both ordered sandwiches, I got the Italian grinder on a wrap. It was full of meat so they didn't skimp on this but the price does match that. It was good, the meat was good quality and they use prosciutto vs mortadella so they points for that! The sweet potato fries were undercooked. To clear the dishes and get the bill took a very long time again so if I was to ever return I guess I would chose a bar seat for better service. The food was good but nothing that I would go out of my way to visit here again unless maybe for a drink and an app. If you do go, get the restaurant.com to save some money :). read more

So a friend asked me to go check out the band playing at Escada, since it is near my house, and her band plays there on occasion.. we we're doing a little scoping out of the competition.. shhh. The place is new looking, seems to be a mix of a sports bar/italian restaurant/ music venue...oh how I love a place that tries to be a little of everything. I will have to go back and try the food, but for now all I can say is it was a decent place to check out a cover band. Was fairly crowded with your usual 40 something Johnston/North Providence Crowd, with a few Jersey Shore types mixed in for good measure. The drinks we're moderately prices.. 4-5 bucks for a beer, and $6.50 for 1800 shots.. Wasn't super impressed with the bartenders.. spent alot of tim just sort of chatting with each other, or doing god knows what.. other than slanging drinks.. all in all.. it was a fun night. First time there was with my son for lunch and we had sandwiches. Very satisfied with the food and service. Second time there was for dinner with my wife and it was a walk off home run. My wife had their special Pumpkin mac n cheese and I had the veal parm. Out of the park. The mac and cheese was to die for. A true 5 star dish. Highly recommend and would suggest to Friends. I've been coming to Escada since it was at it's old location. From the very beginning I loved it. From the food, service and love bands.... I've worked for them doing pictures for parties and events and have always been treated well by the owners. Escada is a bar that serves food rather than an actual restaurant. Their website with the menu and pictures is trying to be more but really they only have about five tables and bar full of locals. Entrees start with a soup or salad which is nice. However the veal parm was utterly average. The sauce was meh, the pasta overcooked. I was in the area for some one-time biz but if I was in the area regularly I would skip this place. There are far too many italian options in the Providence area to settle for this.
