Had a great time! Sat at the bar, it felt cozy on a cold winter night. Drinks were delicious. Poutine hit the spot. (I still miss red fez poutine but this is the best I've found since they closed). The sliders I got were great - I took most of it home and it was even better an hour later on my couch. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded (it was a few weeks back on a Friday night) but it did get a bit busier as the night went on. We were well taken care of. Would go again. Sometimes I need nights like this to remind myself I do like going out lol

RI Food Fight Tacos review: 4 couples dumped into Red Door on a Saturday night around 8:30 with taco coupons. Luckily 2 tables in a corner sat us perfectly! Great for conversations. Nice staff and loved serving the check in a random book I can share, the menu isn't Mexican but they did have AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS cheesy beef tacos! Super flavorful! I keep thinking about them... like that delicious.

My friend and I went to Red Door recently. She is doing RI Food Fights best of sandwiches so I tagged along. Her burger looked good (not pictured) and seemed very flavorful. The sweet potato tots were delicious and I enjoyed the red fries. I had the mezze plate as my main and the hummus, tabouli, and falafel were good. Not the best falafel I have ever had but I enjoyed it. Drinks were good and service was great. Our waiter's name was Dylan and he was great with offering suggestions and laughing with us. We also ate the crème brûlée for dessert which was great. We went for happy hour so it was super adorable. When I got home though, I was sooooo thirsty. I think the fries were really salty or something else I ate was? Definitely would go back.

This spot was such a good find! I came here for best taco RI and wow! The tacos were far better than i expected---they were actually my favorite on the list! I also got happy hour tots that were soooo yummy! The drink special the amazing bartender, Dyani! It was a really great experience and I'll def be back to this adorable little providence location!

Very cool spot, great music, great bar feel, love the room! I did order food, did the veggies burger sliders and will say other than being very messy they were delicious ! place was a little loud but the music was good! I did an espresso martini which was very good. Very well made, she took her time, a little freshly ground nutmeg on top! Loved it! Great experience ..I would bring a date here, if I was from here, or had that special someone with me! Try it, dig the spot! KT

Very intimate bar - I came with a group of friends for a birthday and we sat in a round, couch arrangement so we could all face each other. Each cocktail we ordered was good - especially the Firebird and the Lost Tropics. They also have several options for shareable bites. My friends really liked the parmesan truffle fries and lemon pepper bites. Friendly staff. Would definitely come back for another drink. It is located in the middle of downtown so parking is kind of tough, but definitely worth checking out!

I visited The Red Door with my husband as part of the RI Food Fights Big Burger Blowout event, and I am glad to say that we found a little gem in PVD! The Red Door is a small speakeasy spot nestled in downtown Providence. It's dark and intimate inside with a mix of seating including booth, bar, and hightop. We were there on a Wednesday night, so it wasn't super busy. With our burger coupons, we each got to pick an order of sliders from their menu. We also ordered the Chicken Satay and the happy hour Eggs Possessed. The sliders came 2 in an order and, wow, they were so good! First of all, the portion was very generous for sliders. There was a bigger patty in 1 slider than we've had in some full size burgers. I had the Mini-Macs which were smash patties topped with American cheese, white onion, pickles, shredded lettuce, and house made Mac sauce. The flavors melted in mouth in the most delicious way, the beef was cooked really nicely, and that sauce was special; I loved them! The Eggs Possessed (deviled eggs) were amazing! Best I've ever had. The egg white was still tender and the filling was so creamy with a little kick to it. The chicken satay was also really, really tasty. Great mix of textures going on in the plate and the sauce was wonderful and had a nice heat level. Our waitress, who was also working the bar, was so nice and inviting. I made a point to tell her that it was our first visit and how impressed we were with the food. She was excited to hear our thoughts and was in total agreement about their delicious dishes. I loved everything we had at The Red Door! Prior to this visit, I had no idea this restaurant existed. But, it was happy discovery as I'd love to go back for a date or girls night. If you're looking for this kind of vibe, but are also a foodie, then I highly recommend it!

Walking in the door here brought back such a rush of memories from so long ago... So many nights, huddled in a corner of this packed space, with a group of friends, yelling to one another over the crowd while slurping delicious noodles. Ah.... those were the days! Tonight everything is different - in a good way. The softly lit space has been reconfigured and is simplified - less cluttered, less crowded. On a slow week night, just a few couples are scattered around, sipping craft cocktails and quietly chatting. An apropos eclectic soundtrack of downtempo music helps set the mood. The friendly & super efficient bartender effortlessly flits between crafting drinks to serving tables - alone on the floor tonight & handing it very well. She even seems to make time to chat with everyone. We even end up eventually showing off our newly acquired comet pics taken on the way that evening. But - we're there to try the tacos as part of the RI Food Fights Tacomania competition tonight and we're glad we do! We order a pair of each - the Coconut Shrimp and the Steak Tacos. Both are delicious! The steak is tender and juicy, delicately spiced. The shrimp, chopped into chunks & fried until crisp are delicious with the sweet spicy mango topping. An order of Mac & Cheese ends up being a perfect compliment - the salty, creamy sauce cutting perfectly through the spice of the tacos. We can't wait to return for another date night. My partner & I are reminded that our very first date was just down the block at a now long departed bar, decades ago. This would make a fine replacement.

This was my first time at Red Door and wow is this place cool. I went here when it was the red fez and I like the set up now so much better. One of the bartenders knew exactly who would be leaving shortly so we could snag a seat. This was apparently a rare Friday night that wasn't crazy crowded. It was a bar so it was loud, but I could easily hear the people next to me. You know you're in Rhode Island when you have a favorite bartender at one place, and you walk into a new place and recognize them behind the bar! Cassandra is a DELIGHT and made me a special off menu cocktail that was like a peach cosmo... so balanced and not too sweet. We ended up having friends join us and there was something on the menu for everyone. The bar staff was very flexible with any substitutions or adjustments made to the order. All and all this place gets an A+ and will definitely be seeing more of me in the future!

Stop #5 on RI FOOD FIGHTS 12th Annual Big Burger Blowout #BestBurgersRI w/Carol Stuart...we both opted for the barbecue sliders: bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, fried onion shoestrings and housemade barbecue sauce...delicious! Lots of good looking options on the menu! Have been wanting to try this out for a while, worth the trip, will be back! Autocrat Coffee Milk & Vanilla Crème Brûlée next visit....maybe Grandma Helen's Cheesecake too...

We went for after dinner drinks, and omg excellent. The whole experience was fun and relaxed, we had a great time. The drinks were unique and I can't wait to go back again!

Needless to say, it was a disappointing start to what was supposed to be a special family evening. Thankfully, a quick call to Aguardente in Fox Point changed everything. The person who answered explained that they weren't taking reservations that evening, but they did have one outdoor table left if we could make it there in time. Despite the challenges of navigating Providence during the World Cup festivities and the Cape Verde Festival in the Fox Point area, we managed to get to the restaurant and secure that last table. We are incredibly grateful to the staff at Aguardente for helping turn our evening around. Our daughter and son-in-law were hoping to enjoy one last dinner with both families before leaving on Monday for a special assignment in South Carolina, and the unexpected closure of our original restaurant had left everyone feeling frustrated and disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the team at Aguardente made us feel welcome. The food was excellent, the drinks were wonderful, and the service was outstanding. Most importantly, they helped transform what had begun as a stressful evening into a memorable celebration with family. Thank you to everyone at Aguardente for your kindness, hospitality, and professionalism. You made our families smile and created a special memory during an important moment in our lives. We highly recommend Aguardente and look forward to returning. -- A very grateful family

Atmosphere: cute outdoor seating area for summer nights. The inside has cool decor (including a…read morebathroom that apparently won an award??), but is very small and cramped. The upper 'porch' like area looks really fun, but the table we were seated at was so close to the other tables I was uncomfortable. I get that we're in a city, but I value my personal space and privacy and felt like the whole restaurant could hear my every word - ick. Service: our server seemed annoyed that I didn't want an alcoholic drink, and was not very helpful. Half of the menu is not in English (very chaotic how some portions are in English and others are not, it doesn't seem consistent), so we had some questions, such as "what does x taste like?" and the only response we got was "not too sweet"....okay, but what DOES it taste like? She spoke very fast and I couldn't understand her listing off the specials, even though she didn't really have an accent. She left partway through while we were there so I guess she was just at the end of her shift and checked out, but it was so offputting how rude and unhelpful she was. When our servers transitioned, we offered to cash out then since we weren't getting anything else and wanted the original server to get her tips, but she started joking around that we didn't have to do that - which I appreciate, but we actually did want to get going and get cashed out, but she refused to give us our check. I asked three times and she still wouldn't 'let us do that'...very weird. Food: there were not a ton of vegetarian options that appealed to me. I went a little overboard on plantains by accident, which is my mistake. I first ordered the Rellenitos with cilantro crema sauce, which were very good and a flavor combination I wasn't expecting. The dough to filling ratio was a little off and they were pretty dry inside, so I needed a lot of the sauce. An order only came with 2 and I wish it was more. I'm glad I ordered something else - Tula Fries, which came with the same exact cilantro creme sauce as the Rellenitos, even though they are described differently on the menu, which felt lazy to repeat a sauce. The sauce didn't go well with them at all in my opinion so I did not enjoy these as much as I would've liked. My friend enjoyed her drink, but thought almost all of the meat on her meat and cheese board was either low quality or close to going bad. It was priced reasonably, which we were shocked by, but she couldn't eat a good portion of it sadly. We did really enjoy the baked flava bean snack that was a part of it. The board weirdly came with just half of one small, half rotten strawberry that looked terrible - it would've been better to leave it off. Towards the end of the night, there was so much water on the floor in the hallway that goes to the bathroom and passes the kitchen - I had to walk through it to go to the bathroom, which felt like a safety hazard. My friend was on crutches and wouldn't even try to get over there since we knew she'd slip on all the water. It just looked terrible and was dangerous, so not sure what we going on that there was such a water issue there. Their specialties and more meat based dishes are probably great, but there just aren't a ton of things for me to eat here. I'd be willing to try it again for drinks and apps if the service wasn't so unwelcoming.

I'm honestly not sure how I missed it, because this is exactly the kind of place I like finding. It is the true definition of a small cocktail bar. The space is tiny, intimate, and has a very specific atmosphere, so if you're looking for a big place with plenty of tables, this probably isn't it. If you're looking for a great cocktail in a cozy little bar, however, you're in the right place. The cocktail menu is excellent. There are a lot of creative options that go well beyond the standard collection of Old Fashioneds, Margaritas, and Martinis you'll find at most bars. The drinks are imaginative without becoming gimmicky, and the combinations we tried were really well balanced and interesting. You can tell there is some serious thought behind the cocktail program, and it makes ordering something new a lot of fun. Our waitress was fantastic as well. My wife ordered a drink that apparently isn't something every bartender is familiar with, so our waitress went back to the bartender to ask about it. The bartender immediately knew exactly what she was talking about, which was a nice little reminder that these people actually know their drinks. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy without hovering over us. The music deserves a mention, too. It was fantastic and fit the atmosphere perfectly. The Eddy has that comfortable, slightly dark cocktail-bar feeling where you can sit down, have a drink, listen to good music, and actually enjoy being there rather than feeling like you're sitting in a loud restaurant waiting for someone to bring you your check. My only real warning is that this place is genuinely small. That is part of its charm, but it also means getting in and finding a seat can be difficult at times, particularly when it's busy. You probably shouldn't show up with a large group expecting to immediately find a table. For two people looking for a couple of really good cocktails, though, it's pretty much ideal. The prices are also quite reasonable for the quality of the drinks. You're obviously paying cocktail-bar prices rather than dive-bar prices, but I didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of. Considering the creativity and quality of what we were drinking, I thought the prices were perfectly fair. I'm actually a little annoyed that I went this long without knowing The Eddy existed. Providence has so many cocktail bars that you can spend years here and still keep discovering places you've somehow walked past a hundred times. The Eddy is definitely going on the list of places we need to come back to, and we will 100% be back.

So, Plan B it was, and honestly, I'm glad we ended up here. Yellow Door has a really fun atmosphere. The playlist was lively, the place gradually filled up while we were there, and the whole space has a vibrant, welcoming feel without becoming obnoxiously loud or chaotic. It's very aesthetically pleasing, with a colorful, modern look that fits the whole taco-bar concept perfectly. It feels like somewhere you could drop in for a couple of drinks and tacos with friends and just hang out for the evening. Our bartender was really nice and attentive, and the cocktails were probably the highlight of the visit for me. The drink menu is extensive, and there are plenty of interesting options rather than the usual handful of margaritas and beer. Everything we had was well balanced and well made. Providence has been having something of a cocktail renaissance lately, and Yellow Door fits right into that trend. The food was good, although I have to be honest about the birria taco we tried. It was tasty, but it wasn't exactly a life-changing taco, and it was on the small side for the price. I was expecting something that would make me immediately understand why everyone gets so excited about birria, and this one didn't quite get there. That said, "good but not mind-blowing" is still good, and I'm not going to knock an entire restaurant because one taco didn't knock my socks off. We only tried a small portion of the menu, so there's plenty more to explore. That's actually one of the reasons we'll be back. I want to try some of the other food, and I'd like to come on a different night to see how the atmosphere feels when we're not in the middle of a weekend crawl. Sometimes a place hits differently when you actually sit down, order a few things and give the menu a proper chance rather than treating it as one stop on a larger evening. Overall, Yellow Door Taqueria is a very solid four stars. The atmosphere is fun, the space is attractive, the bartenders are friendly, and the cocktails are genuinely good. The food we tried was good, although the birria taco didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Still, there's enough here that I'm interested in coming back and trying more, which is ultimately a pretty good endorsement. Sometimes Plan B turns out to be worth keeping on the list.

Outstanding experience. Sat at the bar on a Tuesday afternoon. My bartender was Justin who was…read moreoutstanding. Taco Tuesday meant $5 for a select few tacos - I had the dorado taco (delicious - could have used some acidity from a lime wedge). 3:00 began happy hour (half price tacos and margaritas). Jalapeño margaritas are wonderful. I had a chili duck taco (solid), carnitas taco (great) and a queso carne taco (surprisingly tender steak). Great food and great drinks at a great price (due to both taco Tuesday and happy hour), but the main factor was the great, enthusiastic service from Justin. There were roughly a dozen customers and he never missed a minute. Even while washing dishes etc he was upbeat and joking with me and all the other customers. I will definitely return!
